Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Bewildered

Lila stared at her sister before saying,"yes".

Evelyn smiled brightly at her and stretched her hand forward fro Lila to hold before they left the house. They began to walk on busy street with humans selling their markets until they come across a particular shop.

When did this shop got built? Lila asked curiously. She had totally forgotten about her anger towards her sister.

Well, who knows? Should we go check what they sell in there? Evelyn asked her bright eyes shining brightly.

Lila smiled and nodded a yes, even dragging her sister towards the new shop on the street.

Just as they step forward, Evelyn dragged her sister back a bit making Lila give her a confused look.

Hold! If this is a new shop, why are the humans not patronizing it? Evelyn asked with a thoughtful gaze as she had seen no one in the shop unlike the other shops.

Lila jerked her hand away from her sister's and parted her lips to talk,

"Why are you such a foolish girl?" Asked Lila pissed.

Evelyn didn't take offence to her question as her mind was still drawn on the new shop.

Listen to me Evelyn, I'm your elder sister. Just because I act like someone that's a child doesn't give you the stupid right to control me. Lila said coldly and Evelyn finally turned to look at her sister.

Even though Lila was right, but it seems as though Evelyn is the elder one here cause she behave more matured and a little observant than being too forward and pushy. Unlike Lila who likes to explore the things of the world, Evelyn prefers to look at the dark side of the world than the bright side;cause she believes that the darkness also has a little touch of light within it which the world fail to notice. To her it's not only the brighter side of the world that matters, but the darkness too matter.

As the saying goes, "without light, there won't be darkness and without darkness, there won't be light".

"I'm sorry. " Evelyn apologized looking down.

Lila rolled her eyes. But deep in her heart she was more than happy that she finally put a boundary between them.

What if the humans don't patronize the new shop? Atleast we will be the first customer to patronize them. Lila suggested.

If you want to patronize them, I'm not joining you. Evelyn said and turned her back on her sister as she began to walk away leaving Lila bewildered.

Lila clenched her fists tightly as anger boiled in her. How dare Evelyn talk back at her? She will so teach her a great lesson of her life. She thought coldly and began to walk further towards the new shop.

While she was walking, she heard a loud commotion. She creased her brows in confusion as she turned back to see what was happening. But to her horrific disbelief, some villagers had gathered around an old man beating him with sticks.

She quickly ran towards the people fighting and poked a girl to ask, who are they beating?

It's the magistrate of the castle. He came to cause some commotion, but gladly for the villagers he is human. He wanted to frame one of the villages for theft. The little girl with brown eyes wearing glasses replied.

Oh. Lila said and slowly turned away and left. Maybe next time, she will visit Tyr new shop.

The sky was turning dark grey when the humans began to prepare to head to their homes.

It was like in the kingdom of Valtenia, the human were having a peaceful day except for the extreme fear that grip them in the night where vampires were hunting preys for food. They have been grateful for the current king law, if not who knows whether Vampires will break in to their homes and feed on them. But vampires couldn't go in unless being invited in.

Mrs Fraser was peeling some bananas when she heard footsteps.

Dear, you are back! I have been waiting for you. She said with a horror like expression.

What is it? Asked mr Fraser noticing the tense look on his wife face.

She held her husband hand and without saying a word toom him to their children's room. On reaching inside, she pointed her finger on the broken window sill.

Mr Fraser followed her line of sight and saw nothing.

What's there? He asked confused.

Can't you see it? She stuttered worriedly. If what she was thinking is true, then they'd be doomed as hell.

The broken window sill has been broken. She walked towards it holding the cracked window sill.

Mr Fraser walked towards her and cupped her both cheeks and smiled.

Trust me, they won't remember. He said. The moment they stepped inside, he wasn't surprised about the sill cause he had seen Evelyn standing by the window early hours of the morning.

And what if they remember? She asked her eyes widened. She was scared and at the same time she hoped they don't remember a single thing that happened that rainy day.

" If they remember....."

Dad! ! ! Evelyn's voice echoed through the the house.

Mr Fraser and his wife stared at each other and walked out of the girls room.

Dad, is anything the matter? She asked when she noticed that her parents stepped out of she and Lila room.

No child, I and your mother just decided to clean you girls room. He lied and Evelyn foolishly believed.

Oh dad, you shouldn't bother. Evelyn smiled.

No child, it's our responsibility to take care of you girls. He said and parted her back silky hair softly.

If you say so papa. Good night. She said and walked away back to her room.

Once she was gone, Mr Fraser turned to look at his wife. You see, I told you they can't remember. He smiled and Mrs Fraser tensed shoulder relaxed.

Unbeknownst to them, Lila was about to enter when she heard what her father said and she furrowed her brows in confusion.
