Chapter 11 - Couples Therapy

Eva

We are in Eric's office, laughing about our situation. None of us imagined this when we dreamt of finding our person. Hell, I didn't think Fate existed until now. Honestly, I have always lived in half-truths. My whole life has been a half-truth, and now it looks like Fate will show me what's real, using three extremely attractive, and not remotely human, men.

I look at the guys, "I'm sorry."

Vincent takes my hand that I was fidgeting with, "Stop apologizing! You will learn all that you can do, and with that, control will come."

Eric shakes his head as he chuckles, "Eva, at least we know what you can do inside now."

I glared at him, "Not funny!"

He smirks, "Kinda is." That's when I finally looked down at something besides my hands. My dress is completely see-through now because I got soaked from the sprinklers. I facepalm. Now Vincent chuckles, "Well, well, well, I got to see you all wet, after all." He's such an ass, so I punch him in the shoulder. He touches his shoulder, "Hey, that hurt."

I smirk, "Good, serves you right."

Eric laughs as he goes to find me something dry to wear. Is Eric always so composed? What rattles him? He comes back with a long red dress. He tells me that it was Vicky's, as she had stashed clothes everywhere. While I was changing, he got himself into dry clothes and gave Vincent a dry shirt. I walk out adjusting the dress. It covers me well, but I feel exposed. Eric says, "I know that was Vicky's, but it looks way better on you. Do you not like it?"

"I do, it's just nothing like I am used to," I say.

Vincent sighs loudly, "Can we just find her a bag or something?"

He's back to being possessive again. I huff as I roll my eyes, "Vin, just stop."

Eric adds, "She could wear a garbage bag coated in filth, and it still wouldn't matter."

I know that he's talking about the bond, but I am not ready for that discussion yet. "Whatever, I just need to make it back to…to Vincent's."

Vin's eyes twinkled, "You almost called it home."

Yes, but I'm not ready to admit that to myself, or anyone else, just yet, "Shut it before I punch you again."

He chuckles as he smirks, "I could just compel you."

I cock an eyebrow, "Try it!"

I felt him start to suppress my will, so I started singing '''I'm Too Sexy," by Right Said Fred. That did the trick, too!

Eric laughs, "Oh, that was funny!"

Vincent glares at me, "Stop cheating."

I shrug, "I am not, though. When I start to feel it, I cause chaos. It stopped ya, didn't it?"

Eric smiles, "At least it wasn't something annoying like Tiptoe Through The Tulips."

We laugh. I inform them, "My mind is rarely quiet, so it's not hard to think of a song. That's why you should stay out of my head, it's very noisy there."

Vincent shakes his head, "Fate must hate me."

I tease, "Aww, it could be worse, you could've gotten Katie."

He scoffs, "No way I could be stuck with a princess for eternity."

I grin, "She'd have never gone for a late-night stroll with you through the woods either."

He returns my grin, "Barefoot and in satin pajamas, too."

I giggle, "See, you got lucky because I'm that kinda girl!"

Eric adds, "Yes, but you can also blend into the aristocracy, when needed."

I shrug, "It's what a good journalist does." He looks at me as if he doesn't believe me. He probably doesn't, and I am starting to not, as well. The longer that I'm around them, the more I realize that my human life was a lie.

Eric asks, "When do you meet with the wolf?"

I told him later today, and he told me that he wants to listen in. He could anyway, but I like that he's asking.

Vincent says, "We should go before the full sunrise, unless you want to take a cab."

I nod, "True, we flew, and your powers don't work well in the sun like mine do."

Eric says, "We need to learn more, for sure. You probably are a hybrid, but I have no clue between what. You're not like the ones from the prophecies that were turned into a hybrid, you just are you. It's fascinating." He excitedly adds, "None of the prophecies that I am aware of consist of multiple mates, and the emergence of abilities like you are experiencing."

He is so excited about our situation, but I can't be yet. I fear that Vincent and Sam are always at odds, and Eric will be in the middle. Can he help me keep their possessive, brutish behaviors in check?

Eric kisses my cheek. He's being very understanding and respectful, especially since it appears that I'm his mate, too. I'm still not sure how this will work, or if it even can. Eric smiled as he gave me another peck on the cheek, "Now let's go announce to the club that you are under our protection. That should keep the other ladies away from you."

I smile, "If not, I can handle them, like I did Veronica."

He says, "No doubt, but let's avoid that, if we can..."

As Vincent shakes his head, I say, "I can be tactful and kill them via gossip, too."

Vin looks annoyed, "How?"

"Your kind is all about status and reputation, correct? Don't answer, because how else can you knock someone down? By tarnishing or obliterating their cherished reputation," I say. His smugness grows, "Maybe, but you have a reputation, too, as a journalist. You need to protect that."

I laugh, "Easy. Pseudonym. I can always get others. Plus, I wear disguises. Very few know my true identity, and I will keep it that way."

Eric adds, "She's damn good. I had a hell of a time finding her."

Now it's my turn to be cocky, "I'm damn good at a lot of things."

Vincent wraps his arms around me, "Enough!"

I pout, "Aww, you are ruining my fun."

I just feel powerful and feisty around these guys. I don't know if it's them, or me, or the combination. But, honestly, I don't care. For once, I feel like myself and I feel at home. Home is such a simple word, but so difficult to find and keep.

Vincent kissed the top of my head, "You're infuriatingly insufferable."

I laugh, "Welcome to your eternity."

Eric says, "Old friend, you can't change Fate."

I add, "But, you can alter your destiny. Each choice we make connects, we weave our web of destiny by the choices we make in the present."

Eric smiles and chuckles, "Let's go, Confucius!"

I wonder if he knew him. I wonder how old everyone is that I have met so far. We go into the club where the Prince makes the announcement. Most just blindly accept it. The

ladies show even more contempt. They thought they'd be in line for either guy. Well, tough titties, bitches!
