In the comfort of a small room, an old lantern offered a speckle of light, offering at least some very little sight. Aiden Moore sat down on the ground, his body curled up in a quite unhealthy manner as his vision pierced through the rat sized hole close to his head.
He had seen len enter the bookstore. He had seen len summon the knights had now he had seen len approaching towards him.
Not wasting a single second, Aiden immediately began hurrying, trying his best to ready himself for escape. Moving his legs and raising his hands, he held a book in his right hand waiting for Len, as he watched him approach.
Upon Len reaching the wall, Aiden immediately moved. With a slight push of the wall, it opened revealing himself. Instantly, with the book in his hands he swung it at full force towards len, he aimed it for Lens head, hoping to stun him, providing chance for an escape...but it was already too late.
Bam!
A spear appeared in front of Lens body in an instance stunning aiden completely. He instantly turned his gaze towards his side, hoping to see who did such an act but to his surprise it was the spear Knight which had been far from len before.
How?
With his only way of stunning len now completely gone,he instantly adjusted his goal towards running to the other side.
But... the spear Knight was not that kind.
Bam!
The spear pierced through the bookstores wall right in front of aiden, suprising him again.
Fear instantly swallowed aiden whole, his head sweating as his only way of leaving was gone completely.
"Hahaha...wow, you are really smart!" Len voice rang out attracting aidens stare.
Aiden stared at len, his breath unsteady as he awaited his fate. He knew with the power this guard had they could easily kill him.
"You are actually pretty smart. How did you even think of doing that? I mean trying to stun me to be able to run toward the knife at the edge there."
"...."
"Ha, you don't have to answer. You probably did it for your safety. I don't blame you, but hmm.. why were you spying on me?" Len asked, his tone changing.
Aiden took a deep breath before speaking with a quite bold voice
"I wasn't spying on you, rather I was hiding here. I was already even here when i saw you enter the store."
"I see" len thought in his mind. His brain racking for answers. He had been hiding in this place before, but how did he find that hiding spot.
Len looked at him again before asking.
"How did you know where to hide and why didn't you come out before?"
"I already knew this hiding spot before." Again with a deep breath he continued 'I knew the person who owned the book store so sometimes I usually come here to read. And regarding your question on why I didn't come out, If you had found a safe place where even those goblins outside couldn't find, would you want to leave?"
His words made sense, appeasing Lens desire for an answer for a minute but then again another rose up.
Len brow rose ' Stay here? In a book store to read?. Why didn't you just go to a library."
Aiden frowned slightly as he answered:
"I hated there!"
Len looked at him, deciding to back off as he saw he most likely had some traumatic experience there. He turned his head towards his Knight at his side and with the movement of his lips he ordered:
"Let's go"
Instantly all three knights turned and followed len at his back stunning the young boy. He looked at them as they moved in an organised manner towards the front door not even caring for him at all. But as they approached ita sudden feeling hit him. If he was to stay here, wouldn't he die, but these people seemed strong especially how len could summon these people. Suddenly a feeling inside him forced him to shout
"Waittt!!"
Len immediately stopped, turning his head towards the boy, his expression one of confusion.
Aiden took a deep breath, his mind screaming
"What did you do! What did you do!" But he ignored it. With a slight intake of air he shouted with his eyes closed
"Can I please follow you. I would like to follow you where you are going! Please take me with you. I will do anything you want but please dont leave me."
Aidens head was already bowed to the ground, his eyes red. Even tho he had tried to appear tough, he was not a fool to loose such a chance. He decided to bet it all on the chance that len would save him especially since he was young.
But the next words he heard stunned him completely.
"No sorry!"
Len and his knights immediately walked out of the store, his morale high.
