Chapter 11 - Beast core

Two days had passed since the wolf incident, and Kaiser's life had settled into a routine that would make most predators look like amateurs. The wolf corpses had been a nutritional goldmine, transforming his body and expanding his capabilities with each bite.

The proximity to forming a beast core was tantalizing. But first, a family visit - because even apex predators need some quality time.

The fish hunt was less a meal and more a precision operation. Kaiser selected his targets. A school of trout moved through a narrow river bend - perfect choke point. He positioned himself high above, using the morning sun to blind potential prey. One powerful dive, talons extended at a 45-degree angle, and three fish were caught mid-movement.

His parents watched from a nearby branch, their expressions a mixture of pride and what could only be described as parental "show-off" eye-rolling.

"Look at him," his mother's body language seemed to say, "always with the dramatic hunting technique."

His father, however, bobbed his head in what was definitely eagle-speak for "Not bad, kid."

The visit to the eagle community center proved more intriguing. Hundreds of eagles, and not a single one sensing the mana particles that now danced around Kaiser like invisible confetti. It was like being the only person who could see ghosts at a crowded party.

He did see some new species of Eagles, a group of golden eagles, and a group of Harpy Eagles.

As soon as the eagles saw him, they all cleared a wide space for him, some of them were in awe. Especially the newcomers, like the Harpy Eagles and the Golden Eagles. The Harpy eagles were the ones who were dominant here and acted like a bit akin to leaders.

But now it would probably belong to the sole Haast Eagle, because power was everything.

Some of the Eagles were already aware that a Eagle killed numerous Wolves recently. From their scouting it seems to be one party, it was conformed a few days ago when one of eagles saw Kaiser kill Wolves as if they were wolf cubs.

Word spread to other Eagles, they were just told that the Haast Eagle was very dangerous and strong.

"Am I the only one seeing these?" he thought, watching white mana particles drift between completely oblivious eagles. "Either I'm experiencing a very specific hallucination, or these guys are seriously missing out."

***

These past couple of days, he made a habit of doing patrols. The patrols were done for numerous reasons, but specifically 4. Hunting, Finding magical plants or any sort of that nature, Monitoring for human threats and flying practice.

Hunting; because a predator's gotta eat and extra Bioenergy. Finding mysterious magical plants ,because why not?. Monitoring potential human threats because paranoia keeps you alive. Flight practice, because working that out increased his agility.

I looked at my status again, I tried to look at my status every then and now, but at least once per week.

he gained stats in agility as he trained in flight everyday.

The fame points that he was looking at it was from a quest.

{Quest}

{Gain 1000 fame points}

It was the only quest available, so he had no choice but to choose it.

The fame points intrigued him. 800 out of 1000 - humans were definitely talking. This world felt different from his previous life. Animals were stronger than on earth, but not by much enough to be a threat to humans, at least from what I observed.

There was one thing that contradicted his previous world, the use of mana. There existed mana in this world.

"A parallel world?" he mused. "Or just a really weird version of Earth?"

It was night time, he usually meditated during the night time, due to the abundance of the mana particles.

Meditation became a precise scientific process. Kaiser imagined a centrifugal force so perfect it would make physics professors weep. Mana particles - those tiny white wisps of energy - began to respond, drawn closer.

The first particle took ten minutes to enter his body.

{Bioenergy: +1}

The second particle took a bit more 12 minutes to enter his body.

{Bioenergy: +1}

Then came the core formation - a process that made root canal look like a pleasant massage.

His body heated up like he'd been thrown into a volcanic forge. Mana strands converged at his core's location, moving with an intelligence that suggested they had their own agenda. The pain was... indescribable. Imagine having every cell in your body simultaneously decide to run a marathon while being electrocuted.

But Kaiser held on. Passing out wasn't an option. If he passed out, there was a chance of failure in the formation of beast core.

Five excruciating minutes later, a pale white core formed in his body. The sensation was like suddenly understanding a language you didn't know existed.

A new skill appeared: Weak Telekinesis. Because why not add "move objects with your mind" to an already impressive resume?

It seems he went up a stage, from F- tier to F tier. it seems that going up every stage nets him 10 stat points to every stat and 10 free points. He also got a new skill. He clicked on the skill description.

{Weak Telekinesis (F+): allows user to move objects through stats of intelligence and dexterity. }

"Telekinesis," he thought. "From data analyst to eagle with mind powers. Career progression is wild."

Exhaustion claimed him. The magical plant would have to wait. For now, survival and recovery took precedence.
