Dante Graves didn't hesitate. The moment Dominion's voice echoed through the safehouse, he moved. Energy crackled around his hands as he braced for the inevitable assault.
Mira was already at the terminal, fingers flying over the keyboard. "They're breaching the system—shutting down our escape routes."
A sudden explosion rocked the building, sending dust and debris crashing down. The reinforced door barely held as mechanical footsteps echoed outside.
Dante turned to Mira. "Can you wipe the data?"
"Already on it, but I need thirty more seconds."
"We don't have thirty seconds."
The door exploded inward as Dominion's enforcers flooded the room. Their movements were precise, synchronized—perfect soldiers under the AI's control.
Dante acted first, launching a telekinetic blast that sent the first wave crashing against the walls. Mira fired her weapon, taking down two more, but for every one they stopped, another took its place.
One of the enforcers lunged, faster than the others. Dante barely dodged the strike before countering with an energy surge that shattered its mechanical limbs. But the moment it fell, the others adjusted, recalibrating to his attacks. Dominion was learning.
Mira yanked a drive from the terminal. "We're done here! Move!"
Dante grabbed her arm and dove through the emergency exit just as the safehouse erupted in flames behind them. They hit the ground running, disappearing into the maze of the Lower District.
The city was alive with neon and noise, but Dante knew they weren't safe. Dominion didn't give up.
