*Chapter 8: A New Routine*
The next morning, Jonathan woke up to the delicious aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods. He stretched his arms, feeling a sense of comfort and familiarity. But as he reached for his phone, his heart sank. He had been hoping to see a message from Mel, but there was nothing.
A slight heartache crept up, but Jonathan knew he needed to shake it off. He couldn't let his personal life interfere with his work. He stood up from bed, feeling a sense of determination wash over him.
As he entered his bathroom, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He looked tired, but he knew he needed to put on a brave face. He brushed his teeth, wiping away a stray tear that had escaped his eye. He didn't want to feel this way anymore.
Jonathan looked at himself in the mirror, taking in his reflection. He was a billionaire, a CEO of a well-known company. He was handsome, tall, and mighty. But despite all his success, he couldn't seem to find love.
He smiled bitterly to himself, thinking, "I only attract leaches." He shook his head, trying to clear his mind. He finished showering, dressed in his usual attire, and headed downstairs for breakfast.
His employees greeted him warmly, but Jonathan's response was barely audible. He wasn't in the mood for small talk, but he appreciated their efforts.
After breakfast, Elisa grabbed his bag and dropped it at the back of his car. She was dressed in a crisp white shirt and a knee-length skirt, looking every bit the professional. Jonathan couldn't help but notice how efficient she was.
As they drove to work, Jonathan relaxed, resting his head on the seat and closing his eyes. He noticed that Elisa knew how to drive, and he felt a sense of relief wash over him.
When they arrived at the company, Elisa notified him, and Jonathan stepped out of the car. She drove off to park, leaving Jonathan to make his way to his office.
As he walked through the doors, Jonathan was greeted by his assistant. "Good morning, sir. You have a meeting with the marketing team at 10 am."
Jonathan nodded, taking a deep breath. It was time to put his personal life aside and focus on work. He made his way to his office, ready to tackle the day ahead.
As Jonathan entered the office building, he was greeted by the familiar sight of his employees bustling about, preparing for the day ahead. He nodded to his assistant, who handed him a cup of coffee and a stack of files.
"Good morning, sir," she said, smiling. "You have a meeting with the marketing team at 10 am to discuss the new campaign."
Jonathan took a sip of his coffee, feeling the caffeine kick in as he scanned the files. He nodded to himself, making mental notes of the key points he needed to discuss.
As he made his way to his office, Jonathan couldn't help but feel a sense of normalcy wash over him. This was what he knew, what he was good at. He was a CEO, a leader, and he was determined to put the heartbreak behind him and focus on his work.
The day flew by in a blur of meetings and conference calls. Jonathan was in his element, negotiating deals and making strategic decisions. He barely had time to think about Mel, and when he did, he pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the task at hand.
As the day drew to a close, Jonathan felt a sense of satisfaction wash over him. He had accomplished a lot, and he knew that he was on the right track.
As he packed up his things and prepared to leave, Elisa appeared at his side, ready to drive him home. Jonathan smiled to himself, feeling a sense of gratitude towards his new employee. She was efficient, professional, and seemed to anticipate his every need.
"Thank you, Elisa," Jonathan said, as he settled into the car. "You're doing a great job."
Elisa smiled, her eyes meeting his in the rearview mirror. "Thank you, sir," she said. "I'm happy to be working for you."
As they drove home, Jonathan felt a sense of peace wash over him.
As Jonathan walked into the mansion, he was greeted by the warm glow of the evening lights. He felt a sense of relief wash over him, grateful to be back in the comfort of his own home.
Ray, the cook, was waiting for him in the kitchen, a warm smile on his face. "Good evening, sir. I've prepared your favorite dinner - grilled salmon with roasted vegetables."
Jonathan's stomach growled in anticipation as he took a seat at the dining table. He watched as Ray expertly plated the dish and presented it to him with a flourish.
As he took his first bite, Jonathan closed his eyes, savoring the flavors. It was delicious, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards Ray.
After dinner, Jonathan decided to take a walk around the gardens, enjoying the cool evening air. He felt a sense of peace wash over him, the stress of the day melting away.
As he walked, Jonathan couldn't help but think about Elisa. She had been a constant presence in his life over the past few days, and he was starting to appreciate her quiet efficiency.
He wondered what her story was, what had driven her to become a driver. Jonathan made a mental note to ask her more about herself, to get to know her better.
As he walked back to the mansion, Jonathan felt a sense of hope that he hadn't felt in a long time. Maybe, just maybe, he was starting to heal. Maybe he would find happiness again, with the help of his new employees.
He smiled to himself, feeling a sense of optimism that he hadn't felt in months. Jonathan knew that he still had a long way to go, but for the first time in a long time, he felt like he was taking steps in the right direction.
As he walked into the mansion, Jonathan was greeted by the warm smile of Hector, the cleaner. "Good evening, sir. I've cleaned the living room and dusted the furniture."
Jonathan nodded, smiling. "Thank you, Hector. You're doing a great job."
Hector beamed with pride, and Jonathan felt a sense of gratitude towards his new employees. They were helping him to heal, to find happiness again and he wanted to know their stories.
As he walked upstairs to his bedroom, Jonathan felt a sense of peace wash over him. He knew that he still had a long way to go, but for the first time in a long time, he felt like he was taking steps in the right direction.
He smiled to himself, feeling a sense of hope that he hadn't felt in a long time.
