Chapter 3 - Meeting the Young Master

As Jennie met Young Master Jacob's piercing gaze, she felt a jolt of surprise. His eyes were like two glittering grey sapphires, set against the rich, dark canvas of his skin. His curly hair was neatly cut, framing his chiseled features with a hint of sophistication. He was dressed in a crisp white shirt that clung to his broad shoulders and muscles, accentuating his powerful physique.

But her mind was still reeling from Miss Lily's enigmatic eyes, those flecks of gold that seemed to dance in her irises before disappearing. What secrets lay behind that warm, yet unnerving gaze? Jennie's thoughts swirled with questions as Miss Lily introduced her to Young Master Jacob.

"Jennie, meet Young Master Jacob. You'll be his assistant, maid, and...human interaction." The phrase "human interaction" sent a shiver down Jennie's spine. What did Miss Lily mean? Before Jennie could ponder further, Miss Lily exited the room, leaving her alone with the imposing Young Master Jacob but her voice lingered "You're already hired, Jennie. Young Master Jacob wants these documents categorized and prioritized. Maintain a systematic filing system for easy access. Once you're done, I'll show you to your room." Jennie's eyes widened as she took in the task, her mind racing with doubts

The study room, with its whimsical charm, seemed to transport Jennie to a fairy tale realm. The walls were adorned with intricate carvings of flowers and trees, their delicate petals and leaves seeming to dance across the plain surfaces. The ceiling, painted with clouds and angels, added to the ethereal ambiance. A beautiful, antique wooden desk sat at the room's center, surrounded by plush, velvet armchairs that seemed to invite relaxation.

Young Master Jacob's desk was cluttered with papers and books, but Jennie's workspace was neatly organized. A sturdy wooden table stood opposite his desk, with a towering stack of documents awaiting her attention. As Jennie took in Young Master Jacob's strong jawline and piercing grey eyes, a realization dawned on her. He wasn't a child. He was a grown man, with the physique and presence of a god.

His dark skin glowed with a warm, golden undertone, and his eyes seemed to see right through her. Jennie's mind reeled as she processed the truth - she had been hired to be a nanny to a grown man. The absurdity of the situation hit her like a wave. She was supposed to care for him, attend to his needs, and provide...human interaction.

The phrase took on a new meaning, one that made her heart flutter and her skin prickle with awareness. Young Master Jacob's low, husky voice interrupted her thoughts, sending shivers down her spine.

"Miss Jennie, I'd appreciate it if you focused on your task rather than looking like a frightened kitten. I don't bite." His voice was like melted chocolate, rich and decadent, with a hint of smokiness that seemed to curl around her senses. Jennie's eyes met his, and she felt a spark of electricity run through her body.

As she worked, Jennie couldn't help but steal glances at Young Master Jacob. His presence seemed to fill the room, making her feel both intimidated and drawn to him. She wondered what lay beneath his reserved exterior, what secrets he kept hidden behind those piercing eyes. The documents seemed to blur together as Jennie's mind wandered. She was trapped in a web of uncertainty, with no clear escape. But one thing was certain - she was in this now, and she would have to navigate the complex web of Young Master Jacob's needs and desires

As Jennie's gaze fell upon the monumental stack of documents, her jaw slackened in awe. Luckily, her astute mind, honed from her Business Management studies, kicked into high gear. With focused diligence, she devoted her entire afternoon to meticulously sorting the papers , her fingers dancing across the files with precision.

Meanwhile, her boss sat serenely behind his desk, his eyes locked on his computer screen as his fingers flew across the keyboard. The soft hum of the office equipment and the gentle rustle of papers created a soothing melody, punctuated only by the occasional tap of Jennie's pen and typing on the desk.

As the afternoon sun cast a warm glow through the window, Jennie's task neared completion. With a satisfied smile, she leaned back in her chair, her eyes locking onto her boss's profile. For a fleeting moment, their gazes met, and a spark of mutual appreciation flashed between them, lost in the quiet intimacy of the office.

As I declared, "I'm done, young master... or boss, whichever you prefer," my exhaustion was palpable. He gazed at the neatly stacked documents, his eyes widening in admiration and curiosity.

"I must say, I'm impressed," he said, his voice tinged with surprise. "I expected... someone dumber but am shocked kitten . You're dismissed for the day. You may go to Miss Lily." He gestured toward the door, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips. "Don't get lost, kitten. I expect my dinner in 30 minutes."

As the door closed behind me, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. I hadn't anticipated this as my first-day experience, nor had I imagined that the young master I was to care for wasn't a child.

Fortunately, I stumbled upon Miss Lily, who enveloped me in a warm, motherly embrace. "Oh, child, you look exhausted! Welcome to the family. Why don't you go settle into your room, and I'll handle dinner and the young master for today?"

As she guided me to my room, I marveled at the breathtaking surroundings. The walls were adorned with intricate flower and tree carvings, their colors dancing across the plain surfaces. The ceiling was a masterpiece, painted with angels and clouds that seemed to transport me to a fairy tale realm.

Miss Lily's gentle voice interrupted my reverie. "We're here, dear. I've already put your bags in. Take some time to freshen up, and unpacking tonight. Tomorrow won't be easy, but for now, just rest. Your uniforms are on the bed, alright?"

As she departed to attend to dinner, I felt a deep sense of gratitude toward this kind figure. As I opened the door to the room, with its soft, golden light, seemed to envelop me in a warm hug, and I knew, in that moment, that I was exactly where I was meant to be.
