Chapter 2 - Rode Me to the Afterlife (No Smut)

Noa couldn't feel his body in this darkness.

But he saw a transparent panel in front of him.

[ Doom God's Mark detected ]

[ Blessing activated ]

[ 1 out of the remaining 1,000 lives will be used ]

[ Check your status window ]

"Wait. I don't remember a thing about Gods. Especially Doom God," Noa said aloud.

He had another concern as well.

"A thousand lives? That's my talent? And an SSS rank as well?"

Even the main character only had an SS-rank talent, and his plundering skills made him too OP for anyone to challenge him.

There was no mention of higher ranks either.

It meant he got an even better perk than the transmigrated extra, and to find his stats, skills, and the name of his talent, Noa summoned his status window.

This time, it worked.

[ Noa Osborn ]

[ Species: Human ]

[ Grade: Evolved ]

[ Class: Wizard ]

[ Level: 1 ]

[ EXP: 1/100 ]

[ Strength: 0.9 ]

[ Agility: 0.8 ]

[ Vitality: 1.3 ]

[ Intelligence: 0.5 ]

[ Attribute Points: -1 ]

[ Talent: Death's Companion ]

[ Talent Rank: SSS ]

[ Skills: Echo of Doom ]

[ Class Skill: — ]

Reading the entire window, Noa had many questions to ask.

"Shit. Shit. I am an extra as well. But why this loser?"

He knew who Noa Osborn was.

Not because they shared a name, but because Osborn was the loser of the academy and was constantly bullied by the main characters.

Awakened Extra with Plundering System had two important characters.

Klaus Stark was the original S-ranked hero who was destined to save the world, but instead, he destroyed it.

This is where Arthur Ash came into the picture.

He was the main character of the game—a transmigrated extra who had read a novel about Klaus and whose mission was to stop him before he demolished planet Velrox.

Noa Osborn was their classmate, and he died early in the game.

He wasn't average—he was below that.

Now that Noa had transmigrated, he had to somehow change his fate, but before that, he had to understand his perks even more.

"I'm a Wizard."

It was the same as the game.

There were five classes in total: Wizard, Warrior, Rogue, Archer, and Cleric.

Classes didn't play a huge role in the world, affecting only stat distribution, forming one skill, and nothing else.

Then he checked the most important panel.

[ Talent: Death's Companion ]

— There is a divine mark on your being, bestowed by Doom God via special physical contact.

As soon as Noa read the description, one particular face surfaced in his mind.

It was the most gorgeous face he had ever seen.

Noa was shocked and cheerful at the same time.

'I had sex with a God? Doom God at that?'

Yet he was happy because she had said they would meet again, and Noa wouldn't say no to that.

'But damn… How did it happen? Maybe she was the one who pulled me here? And it's because of her I have SSS-ranked talent.'

Noa was building his theories as he felt weakness overcoming his body.

Guessing that he had limited time, he checked his skill.

[ Skills: Echo of Doom ]

— An echo is placed upon your death. You can revive if you wish so, but you will lose your level. You are blessed with 1,000 lives per grade. No mana is required.

Echo: 1,000/1,000

Being in a mysterious white space meant he was still dead.

'It's too OP. But does losing level mean losing accumulated attributes as well?'

There were five grades, the so-called ranks in this world.

Evolved was the first stage.

People evolved and awakened in the First Abyss, but it wasn't guaranteed.

Less than 5% of the entire population was lucky enough to evolve and gain magical powers.

Everyone who awakened the system was named Embers.

They were revered heroes, protecting the world from the monsters that were spawned from the five catastrophic Abysses.

Each grade was capped at level 20.

Embers could choose to rank up by clearing the Abysses, and the subsequent grades were Returne, Altered, Arised, and Eclipsed.

Noa was recalling the information like a good student when his head ached like it would soon split open.

[ Your time is up ]

[ Echo: 999/1,000 ]

[ You are going back to the First Abyss ]

[ Good Luck ]

The instant he finished reading the text, a dark-colored mist enveloped his conscience and pulled him downward.

He was returning to the world of living.

A dark lightning flash embraced his body, and Noa reached the ground.

With an option to either take his old body or create a completely new one, Noa went for the latter.

His skin grew back, forming his flesh from scratch.

It was more painful than the death itself, and he screamed without holding back, startling the goblins.

Noa's bones and muscles were bound together.

Five long seconds later, he was in perfect shape, but the horrors still haunted his mind.

Only now did he acknowledge his near-death experience.

Technically, he was alive, but it didn't change the fact that he was dead for some time.

Just as he was coping with death, something happened…

Foreign memories surfaced somewhere deep inside.

The past of the former owner of his body.

They haunted him.

His anguish, pain, hate, misery, sorrow, and torment were all felt by him.

But there were some happy memories as well.

Rare moments when Osborn enjoyed life with his family.

It became his past, his life, and the two Noas practically merged together.

Yet, the former was dead.

He wouldn't come back, and armed with all the knowledge he needed, Noa was ready to face this world, whether it was a game or whoever he would become.

His echoing screams gained the attention of the goblins.

Thankfully, they had already passed his location, and Noa found time to hide.

Not only did he know all the important information about the world, but he also remembered the way around the Abysses.

"It should be around here," he said, searching for the secluded corner.

Finally, seeing the gap to hide himself as the goblins followed his tracks, Noa shook his hands and remembered his training in both worlds.

Suddenly, the system glitched, fading into shadows, its presence holding an unseen threat towards Noa.

Then it happened.

The third-ever global announcement was made, reporting to every Ember worldwide.

[ A human defied fate. A life that should have ended persists. Embers from Velrox find the Deviation and kill it ]

[ Reward: SSS-ranked skill, Blood Potion ]

'I got it before Arthur did?' he asked, not completely surprised by the system's quick response to his transmigration.

Noa turned into a target, but since no one knew his identity, he remained calm, readying himself for the rampage he was about to start.

"Doom is coming. The hunt starts now!" he said excitedly, aiming for the kill.
