Chapter 11 - Chapter 12

Chapter 12:

Classroom Dormitory.

"Xiao Wu, a girl?"

Yu Xiaogang motioned for Tang San to sit down. The desk around him was cluttered with books, forming a wall that surrounded him.

Tang San explained to Yu Xiaogang that Xiao Wu was born with full soul power but seemed focused on her gender.

"Uh, yes, she's a girl."

Tang San sat up straight, his posture perfectly aligned in front of Yu Xiaogang.

Yu Xiaogang appeared slightly moved. The more geniuses he trained into talent, the more his competitiveness theories could be validated.

"You could ask her if she's interested in becoming my disciple. If she agrees, I'll take on more students. But considering her family helped her acquire a hundred-year soul ring, she probably won't be inclined to become my disciple."

Tang San immediately volunteered, "I'll test the waters with her."

Yu Xiaogang thought for a moment and then nodded.

Meanwhile, in Qizha, Xiao Wu was pestering Lin Bai with questions.

"Lin Bai, what do you think Tang San's martial spirit is? His aura feels oddly familiar to me."

Lin Bai smirked, "Maybe it's a carrot."

"Hmph, I'm not an idiot. No matter how good carrots are, they can't give you full soul power from birth."

Xiao Wu shot Lin Bai a glare, her words sharp. If it were anyone else, they wouldn't even dare to respond, but Lin Bai didn't mind.

As they were talking, Tang San entered the room. His gaze flickered when he saw Lin Bai, but he quickly returned to his bed, puzzled by Xiao Wu's curious eyes.

"Xiao Wu, why are you staring at me?" Tang San asked.

Xiao Wu tilted her head. "Tang San, what's your martial spirit? Is it really a carrot?"

Lin Bai raised an eyebrow, silently amused by Xiao Wu's bluntness.

"Why do you say that?" Tang San asked, somewhat stunned.

Xiao Wu shook her head with a small smile.

Tang San didn't dwell on it and continued with a casual tone. "Definitely not a carrot. My martial spirit is Blue Silver Grass. Both are plants, though."

"Blue Silver Grass, huh?" Xiao Wu stuck out her tongue, giving a playful look. There was something about Tang San that made her feel oddly comfortable.

Tang San took the opportunity to ask, "Xiao Wu, your martial spirit is quite rare, and you were born with full soul power. Have you considered becoming a disciple?"

"Apprenticeship? I don't have many people looking after me, so I'll pass."

Xiao Wu waved her hands. Having just left the Star Dou Forest, she needed to immerse herself in human society before fully transforming. Becoming a disciple would make it too obvious that she wasn't human.

"It's fine. Just thought I'd ask," Tang San said, his tone neutral as he began to practice the Xuantian Technique.

Xiao Wu turned to Lin Bai to continue their chat, but he was too engrossed in practicing the Yin Yang Nine Dragon Art to respond.

Lin Bai's consciousness remained sharp throughout, his mind alert as he focused on the changes happening inside his body. After his breakthrough, he found that the dragon blood in his veins was subtly interacting with his soul power.

The dragon blood seemed to flow alongside his soul power, heating up his body, speeding up the absorption of natural vitality, and refining his soul power. Surprisingly, it was also strengthening the quality of his power, despite his soul power level remaining at 13. The quality, however, had increased by 30%.

Lin Bai continued cautiously, not sure of how exactly dragon blood was influencing his soul power. He was prepared to stop immediately if anything unusual happened.

After an hour of practice, though, Lin Bai found no serious side effects. There was just a slight increase in his body temperature and a burning sensation in his Dantian, but overall, he felt no immediate danger. He also noticed a faint increase in strength, though minimal.

"Is this the effect of dragon blood merging into my bloodline?"

Lin Bai mused quietly, frustrated that his appraisal eye couldn't analyze his internal changes. He was keen to understand exactly what was going on inside.

The night passed in silence.

For the next ten months, Lin Bai led a relatively normal life. He studied hard and practiced diligently in the academy, experiencing the joys of childhood while working toward his goals.

During this time, he took advantage of breaks to track down another slave merchant, saving millions of gold soul coins. Lin Bai quickly earned a reputation as a person of justice. However, his efforts were eventually hampered by soul master bodyguards hired by the merchant. As things grew more dangerous, Lin Bai decided to wash his hands of the matter.

In his last month before the unlimited recharge system reset, Lin Bai spent half a million gold soul coins to purchase two mutation evolution cards. With the remaining 300,000 gold coins, he bought a visualization technique for the Shenlong. This technique allowed him to stimulate his mental power and refine his dragon bloodline over time.

Although the purification of his dragon bloodline was slow, with only a 1% improvement after ten months, the growth in his mental power was far more significant. Telekinesis, Lin Bai's strongest ability, doubled in power. His mental strength was now potent enough to harm even a Five Ring Soul King.

"Today is my seventh birthday. No matter who they are—Jade Emperor, Yuanshi Tianzun, Jehovah, or any god—please bless me with a golden finger that removes the limiter."

Lin Bai muttered under his breath, frustration seeping into his tone. After a year of hard training, he was starting to feel the weight of the process. The novelty of his time-travel had worn off, and now he simply felt bored.

"How about you give me a chat group?"

Lin Bai longed for distractions like snacks, games, and novels—anything to alleviate the dull, grinding days of his training.

As he strolled along the path of the academy, memories of the past year lingered. He had made many changes: Tang San had immersed himself in studying with Yu Xiaogang, though their bond with Xiao Wu remained distant. Some top-tier academies had expressed interest in recruiting them, but neither the Four Elements Colleges nor Tiandou Royal College had shown much enthusiasm.

The breeze swept past, lifting Lin Bai's spirits a little. A soft sound caught his attention.

[The physical training system is now serving you.]

It had originally been called the Possession System, but after a name change, the system's introduction seemed more fitting, albeit less glamorous.
