Seeing Smith and the other two walking out of the door, Zhang Sanfeng quickly turned to his disciples. "Let's go out too."
It wasn't that he doubted Smith and the others could handle the situation. It was more that their abilities were so remarkable! If they killed everyone on the scene, the martial arts world might be torn apart.
When Smith and the others stepped outside, they found themselves in a crowd. People had come to celebrate Zhang Sanfeng's birthday, others to watch the spectacle, and some had arrived to offer assistance to Wudang. Naturally, many others had come with less noble intentions, hoping to take advantage of the situation.
Seeing the three of them emerge from the Zixiao Palace, the crowd was momentarily stunned. Who were these three individuals?
Smith quickly assessed the situation. "Let's act swiftly. Great Sage, Conqueror of Demons, please find the hidden masters." He glanced around, pausing for a moment on a nun and a monk. A flash of disgust crossed his face. He acknowledged that Buddhism had true masters, but Shaolin and Emei were full of greed, anger, and ignorance. It was unclear what kind of Buddhism they followed.
Xiao nodded thoughtfully. "Understood." He pulled out the Hepu Yuan, and in the blink of an eye, he disappeared from the scene, reappearing nearly a thousand meters away. With a single poke, he targeted a hidden figure.
"How is this possible?" Xiao's sudden movement attracted everyone's attention. The speed at which he moved was ghost-like, and they were all shocked. Was this speed even humanly possible?
Xiao's voice rang out, cold and direct. "You have the strongest aura here, so you must be the mastermind behind this?" Without waiting for a reply, Xiao raised the Hepu Yuan and struck.
"That's Pangban and Bashiba! Just as I suspected, they're here," Zhang Sanfeng remarked with a wry smile.
He had already sensed the familiar presence of some "old friends." If they charged in now, Wudang would be in great danger. But now, these enemies were in trouble.
"Thank the Great Emperor Zhenwu!" At that moment, Zhang Sanfeng viewed Smith and his companions as messengers sent by the Great Emperor Zhenwu to rescue his descendants in the mortal world.
Pangban and the others had not expected a young boy like Xiao to confront them. But as a seasoned warrior, Pangban swung a powerful fist at Xiao, only for it to have no effect. Xiao moved effortlessly, dodging the punch, and then swiftly stabbed Pangban's arm with the Hepu Yuan, piercing through the tough muscle and rendering his right arm useless.
"Impressive for a human," Xiao said, his voice colder than ever. He now understood why Smith had requested Zhang Sanfeng's techniques. Without the Eye of God, these humans' strength was already considerable.
Even some Eye of God users might not match these humans' abilities.
The cultivation methods of this world seemed to be tailored for human beings. Liyue's immortal arts were undoubtedly more powerful, but those methods weren't accessible to everyone. The martial arts of this world were more practical and suited to the human body.
With this realization, Xiao decided not to kill these people immediately. Instead, he allowed Pangban, Bashiba, and the others to attack him. He needed to gauge their strength and see how they fought before taking further action. Perhaps he could adapt their techniques and combine them with Liyue's martial arts.
As Xiao engaged with Pangban, Bashiba, and the other top-tier masters from the Magic Master Palace, the onlookers were left speechless. These were some of the most powerful figures in the martial arts world, and yet Xiao handled them with ease. It was as if he were playing with them, and the crowd could hardly believe their eyes.
"Who is this guy?"
"Can a human really do this?" The people watching were in utter disbelief. Xiao was fighting alone against a group of top masters, and his calm, effortless movements only added to their awe. Could he be a monster? Or perhaps... an immortal?
"Hu Tao, you should also get involved!" Smith called out, his tone casual. He didn't want to take all the glory for himself. After all, he could get 5,000 points on his own, and it wouldn't be fair to steal Hu Tao's points.
Hu Tao snapped her fingers in realization. "Got it!" She scanned the crowd, her eyes locking onto a monk hidden among the spectators. "Your aura feels very evil. I think you're my opponent."
Without another word, Hu Tao turned into a stream of light, charging toward the monk. Flames danced around her body, adding to the spectacle. The crowd gasped in awe.
"Where did these people come from?" they murmured. "Their skills are completely different from ours!"
Nun Miejue, observing Hu Tao's attack, couldn't help but exclaim, "What kind of magic is this?"
Nun Miejue wasn't ignorant of martial arts. The monk Hu Tao was facing was clearly one of the strongest in the world, yet this young girl seemed to possess abilities that defied belief. How could a little girl be this strong?
However, Hu Tao's display of power made Smith's patience wear thin. He calmly walked toward Nun Miejue.
"What are you planning, you monster? I'm not afraid of you," Nun Miejue said, glaring at Smith.
Smith's expression darkened. "You don't need to be afraid of me, but calling me a monster is a different matter." His figure blurred as he quickly slapped Nun Miejue across the face. Before she could react, he backhanded her again, growling, "Monster nun."
Each slap sent shockwaves through the crowd. The force of these strikes wasn't terribly damaging, but the sheer humiliation they conveyed made everyone freeze in terror. If such an attack were directed at them, they might prefer death to the insult.
Smith didn't even remember how many times he slapped Nun Miejue. He only stopped when he saw her finally faint from the blows.
He wiped the blood off his hands and scoffed, "She's really uncultured."
"To call the Great Sage who conquers demons a monster...," Smith muttered under his breath.
He turned to look at Xiao in the distance. "It's almost time to end this battle."
