Augustus had finally passed! Six long years at Hunter's Association school had barely managed to get him by.
"A 'b' rank," he notes. Not bad.
On the results of his exam, it said he got a 45. Right in the center of B rank.
At least he got the class he wanted.
"You're request to be an exorcist class hunter has been approved."
If he got a thirty, or been a C rank, he would have been given whatever class best suit him.
There were three types of classes. Mages. Weaponists. And Scavengers.
Mages was the most popular class type because it was so versatile. If a party needed a ranged fighter, their Sponsor would hire a damage mage. If they needed healing, a cleric would be hired. And if pvp was an option…
"Activate skill," Augustus held out his hand. He was alone in his room. It was clean aside from his sparring mat. On the mat was a dummy holding a wooden sword. If it was turned on, it would swing the weapon. Augustus would use it to practice his favorite skill.
"Forced Unequip!!" He shouted. The blue materia gem in his hand evaporated into dust. The energy from it split into several tendrils that raced for the dummy. Before Augustus could blink, the sword in the dummy's grip went flying.
As an exorcist, the least utilized mage type, he could debuff mobs, negate attacks and make lower level mobs drop their items.
"As soon as I get into a dungeon, I'm gonna use this on a goblin or something. They may not drop the best loot, but it could go for a decent amount online."
He looked at his remaining blue materia gems. Sadness came over him.
He wanted to keep using skills. Badly.
But all of his skills needed blue materia.
"I wish blue gems weren't so expensive!" He whined. "Everyone uses them because they can boost armor and weapons. Because of that, the market has them at 50 bucks for twenty 1p gems!"
He crumpled in his bed. Letting his arms flail over his head, he lie there awhile.
"If stupid knights didn't use so much blue materia too, I wouldn't have to resort to crummy tactics to make a living."
