Chapter 33 - Tenseigan

It was hard to tell whether it was because his potential hadn't fully awakened or because his chakra was still lacking—

But Kenjiro's first awakening didn't last a few days… it lasted two full weeks.

For those two weeks, he lived as if blind, shut off from the light.

Anyone else would've found that kind of existence suffocating. Oppressive. Agitating.

But Kenjiro? He was perfectly content.

All thanks to Hinata's amazing care. She wasn't just your typical Yamato Nadeshiko—she was practically the textbook definition of the perfect wife and mother.

Every day, she either brought him meals from home or went out to buy fresh ingredients and cooked for him personally.

Worried that lying in bed all day might leave him stiff, she'd help him walk around the room and the living area, patiently assisting him with washing up—even scrubbing his back and washing his hair.

If Team 8 had missions, she'd cover both her and Kenjiro's share, going out solo to complete them.

If there weren't any missions, she'd either leave a shadow clone at home while her real body visited, or have a clone come by to keep Kenjiro company—afraid he'd feel lonely.

Kenjiro didn't have to lift a finger. Meals came to him, clothes too. He was a pampered invalid.

And Hinata genuinely enjoyed it.

She'd been taken care of by Kenjiro her whole life—this was the first time she got to return the favor. Every day she felt full of motivation, even dreaming about taking care of him and getting his praise.

Good thing Hiashi never saw any of this. Otherwise, the man would've been clenching his fists till they bled.

But happy times fly fast.

Two weeks passed. While Kenjiro's brain had been constantly secreting chakra, his eyeballs had felt like something was squirming inside them. Now, everything had finally calmed down.

The first stage... had awakened.

That day, Hinata drew the curtains and closed the door. As she carefully undid his bandages, she asked curiously.

"Kenjiro-kun, is your kekkei genkai also a dōjutsu?"

"Mhm." Kenjiro nodded.

"Could it be... you awakened the legendary Rinnegan? Or maybe that red eye that counters the Byakugan?" Hinata leaned in with growing curiosity.

'What's next, Ketsuryūgan?' Kenjiro thought to himself, though on the outside he just shook his head.

"I'm not sure. If my brain hadn't suddenly started producing chakra like crazy, I wouldn't have even known I had a dormant kekkei genkai. You'll see for yourself in a sec."

"Mmm..." Hinata quickly unwrapped the bandages, then stood in front of him, staring at his tightly shut eyes.

When Kenjiro slowly opened them—Hinata gasped, eyes widening, covering her mouth in shock.

"So beautiful..."

In the dim light of the room, Kenjiro's eyes shimmered like twin moonlit pearls—glowing with a bluish-white radiance.

His sclera were still there, but his irises had turned a pure sky blue. Even the pupils were blue, rimmed with white streaks that blossomed into a delicate floral pattern around them.

Ethereal. Unreal.

These eyes—maybe it had been a thousand years since they last appeared, or maybe this was their first appearance on Earth.

They didn't belong to the Big Three Dōjutsu. They weren't the red eyes that could counter the Byakugan. And they definitely weren't the Ketsuryūgan of the Chinoike.

They were on par with the greatest legends—possessing the power to destroy and create worlds—The Tenseigan.

"So much eye power... this isn't even the same level..."

Kenjiro reached up, lightly touching the corner of his right eye. He looked at Hinata, but his gaze had already pierced through the house, the streets, the village, the forests, the cities... forming a massive invisible web that blanketed the entire Land of Fire.

The enhanced Byakugan (gold rank) could already see up to 80 kilometers away—that was insane in itself.

But compared to the Tenseigan's vision? That was like comparing a seasoned warrior to a toddler.

In this world, it was the difference between Kage-level and Super-Kage—two entirely different dimensions.

And this was just the first awakening. He could see the whole Land of Fire.

What about the second awakening? Or the final evolution?

How ridiculous would his range of vision be by then?

Kenjiro finally pulled back his far sight and glanced at the leaning Hinata in front of him. His eyes unintentionally drifted down—to her not-zipped-up jacket, to the well-shaped "headlights" behind the mesh underlayer—

His mouth twitched.

'Well, damn. Comes with built-in health-and-safety censorship.'

That's right—Kenjiro had just tested out the Tenseigan's X-ray ability.

Once the Byakugan evolved into the Tenseigan, the view was no longer just black-and-white.

His farsight was terrifying, and his X-ray vision could easily pierce through any object or structure.

Naturally, he tried the one thing every guy with X-ray vision dreams of doing.

But what he saw... wasn't what he wanted.

Instead of... certain visuals... all he saw were colored skeletons, organs, meridians—and chakra.

'What garbage!'

Kenjiro gave it a mental thumbs-down.

Still, remembering that there was another Tenseigan up on the moon made him feel a bit better.

'Yeah... not being able to see everything might be a good thing after all.'

Noticing the shift in his expression, Hinata tilted her head and asked.

"Kenjiro-kun, are you figuring out your kekkei genkai's powers?"

"Yeah."

Kenjiro smiled and nodded. "It's not the Rinnegan or the red eye you mentioned. I think it's something entirely new—or maybe something that's been lost for ages."

"What can it do?" Hinata asked with shining eyes.

"I'll show you. Ready?"

Kenjiro raised his hand toward her.

The next second—Hinata's body suddenly floated off the ground, like gravity had stopped working, and slowly drifted toward him.

And then...

Maybe because it was his first time using gravity powers, Kenjiro overdid it. He also didn't realize how close they were.

Hinata, already 8cm shorter than him, floated just high enough to be a bit above his seated height.

And then her whole body slammed into him, knocking him straight out of his chair and onto the ground.

"Ow—owowow…"

The cry echoed through the room.

Not from Hinata—she was completely unharmed, the impact weirdly absorbed.

No, the one yelling was Kenjiro—who had gotten the wind knocked out of him.

"K-Kenjiro-kun, are you okay?"

Still lying on top of him, completely unhurt, Hinata looked up in concern.

"Cough cough... I'm good, just overdid it a bit."

Kenjiro sat up with her in his arms and smiled. "What you just saw—that's my ability."

Hinata replayed the moment in her mind."Was that... Wind Style?"

"Nope. That was gravity. And this..." he looked around and locked onto a decorative vase.

He pointed at it from across the room.

CRASH—

The vase suddenly shot toward the wall, smashing itself into pieces.

Except—it hadn't been hit by anything.

It had launched itself forward, exploded, and then…

The shards didn't fall to the ground. Instead, they hovered in mid-air, then floated by themselves straight into the trash can.

"A-Amazing..."

Hinata stared, stunned.

Switching effortlessly between gravity and repulsion, Kenjiro's smile deepened as he thought to himself:

'Finally... I can protect myself!'

The Byakugan's evolution into the Tenseigan brought Kenjiro two base upgrades and three core abilities.

The upgrades were super-charged far vision and enhanced X-ray vision.

The three abilities: Attraction. Repulsion. And... Remote Puppet Control.

Although calling it "Remote Puppet" didn't quite do it justice. It was more like a variant of the Six Paths Technique.

Kenjiro could use the Tenseigan to condense chakra into a puppet's chakra core—effectively giving it "life" (like a heart)—and control it from incredible distances.

Those puppets could also manipulate their own chakra to fire energy blasts.

If he had Yin-Yang Release, he could even create black rods and provide chakra to the puppets remotely.

Kenjiro made a mental note and pulled up the light screen only he could see:

[Host: Kenjiro][Talents: Kekkei Genkai – Tenseigan (Red), Ōtsutsuki Bloodline (Red), Sage Eyes (Red), Prince of the Byakugan (Red), Six Paths Aptitude (Red), Chakra Control (Gold), Uzumaki Lineage (Purple) [+], All-Elemental Affinity (Purple) [+], Medical Genius (Blue) [+]]

[Points: 12,391]

The moment the Byakugan evolved into the Tenseigan, the trait changed in the list—its name replaced and its rank upgraded from gold to red.

And even though this was just the first awakening, the Tenseigan had already shot past the Ōtsutsuki bloodline, taking the #1 spot.

"The ultimate eye technique... truly at above red rank..." Kenjiro whispered to himself.
