Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Xievian wanted to die, but at the same time, he wanted to live. He had reached a point in his life where he needed a push in order to awaken his survival instinct.

Nearing the end of his life with no desire to fight back, a strange 'push' managed to save him from his doom.

[System Activating…..]

Is this the legendary system from the novels? Xievian thought. Well, he escaped another exploitation only to fall into another. Is this his fate? If possible, Xievian did not want an uncontrollable entity to invade his brain. His brain was his only source of privacy and security; he did not want that to change, or else he'd have nothing.

Suddenly, inside his stomach, he could sense his intestines shifting like they were alive. In his half-unconscious state, he could not feel anything aside from that strange sensation. Then, after a few seconds, a blaring sound echoed.

[Alert! Alert! Alert! Operate defense. Cut off binding process. Escape. Operate defense. Operate defense. Operate defense. Operate defense. Operate defense. Operate defense. Operate defense. Xievian seemed to hear a scream, then it was quiet.

What just happened? Did the system go faulty?

Xievian closed his eyes. He never took the 'system' seriously, thinking that it might be one of those near-death hallucinations.

He felt his body go lighter, as if he were slowly starting to detach himself from the physical realm and ascend to the spiritual one. Well, that's a fancy way to call death.

Then his consciousness vanished. His last thought was, This is probably his last time being conscious, huh.

...

Xievian, who thought that he wouldn't wake up after that death nap, opened his eyes as he was awoken by hunger.

His body still felt numb, and his thoughts were very sluggish.

Hungry... What's going on?

He tried to control his body. Despite feeling heavy, he felt much better, just like those days before he acquired the strange illness.

He sat up and surveyed his surroundings. He was still inside his dark and stuffy room. He looked up to see the electronic clock mounted on the wall. It was 10:00 PM, just five hours after he felt his impending death slowly taking him to the other side.

For now, everything seemed to be fine except for the floating Suicidal Livestream System text hovering in midair.

Looking at that, Xievian really did not feel anything. His brain gears turned, and he seemed to remember, I heard a system something before I lost consciousness. Was that real?

System whatnot was very fantastical to him. It was as unbelievable as saying that there's a black dragon coming to attack Earth. Why? Because a system is a very cliché concept when it comes to novels. So cliché that if it happened in real life, Xievian would think he was losing his mind.

Still, out of curiosity, he stared at the Suicidal Livestream System text floating in midair. His consciousness hovered around it, and it turned red. Xievian felt that he could touch that text based on his thoughts. He mentally clicked the text, and a blue screen popped out in front of him.

[Suicidal Livestream System!

Are you losing hope in humanity? Do you want to end it all? But somehow still want to struggle? If given the power to change your destiny, are you willing to push yourself and try to survive?

With the Suicidal Livestream System here, everything you wish for will come true!]

Looking at the MLM pyramid scheme-like introduction, Xievian felt choked. Even his decadent and gloomy aura vanished a bit.

But he did notice one thing in the introduction. It seemed to be very specific, like this introduction was tailor-made for Xievian. His guess was that it had something to do with the criteria, but he also guessed that this system was probably not a system but something else donning the disguise of a system because that's what people are familiar with. Thinking deeper, it might be specifically targeting him.

After a pause in his thoughts, he sighed. His paranoia wasn't cured, huh.

Whatever it was, if what he heard during that time was real, there seemed to be a problem with the system. Again, he mentally clicked the introduction. The introduction vanished, but the screen remained floating in midair. The text was replaced with a new one.

His gaze lingered a bit on the administrator part. He had a strange guess. Was the scream he heard before losing consciousness the original system administrator's scream?

Hmm, if that's really the case, then it could lessen the apprehension he had with this system. Still, it's best to be cautious when operating this.

Thinking about the system name, he first clicked on 'Livestream'.

Life Points: 15

Xievian's focus was on the note. So, Life Points are basically equivalent to one day of life? Based on the data, he seemed to only have 15 days left.

He did not feel any panic after seeing those meager numbers that represented his life. Moments ago, he thought he was dying, so this 15-day extension felt like a charity.

Probably because the original administrator was missing, there was no one to guide Xievian as to what all of this was about. But based on his understanding after seeing the 'Livestream' panel,

It was very similar to those abandoned house explorers. Xievian needed to find a suitable haunted or dangerous location, livestream the process of him exploring it, and then attract viewers for Life Points.

But, 10,000 views for 1 Life Point? Based on what he knew, a newbie livestreamer, especially in their first livestream, would have difficulty even amassing 100 viewers.

This was again a dead end. But this system shouldn't have approached him just to let him die, right? Unless there was something that he didn't know about.

Xievian exited the Livestream panel and looked at the other options.

System options? Right, he's the administrator now, so he probably has the authority to operate some of the system's functions.

Maybe what he's looking for is in that option?
