-]

Yeah, it's final. Something went wrong with the system during the binding process. Despite the bright, eye-watering red ERRORS, Xievian managed to find what he was looking for. The 'System Endorsement.' Fortunately, it is very humane, the first use is free. It's a good thing for Xievian who is still poor in Energy Points and Life Points.

Speaking of Energy Points and Life Points, they seemed to be very similar but different. The Life Points pertain to Xievian's life, then the Energy Points seemed to be the system's. Although he is not sure what the Energy Points mean to the system, the fact that he heard a scream after the warning 'Insufficient Energy Points', it seemed that Energy Points are also very important to them. Now Xievian, the new administrator of this system, needs to also pay attention to these Energy Points. There isn't any indication as to where or how to gather them.

Then again, he hadn't finished exploring the system yet; perhaps there would be some explanation later.

Just as he was about to continue his exploration, his phone rang.

Xievian, like a normal young guy, always brings his phone with him by his side, even when dying. So this time, he just had to crawl a bit to reach his phone.

After picking up his phone, he looked at the number and saw that it was an unknown number. The number did not look familiar, but Xievian still answered it, thinking that it might be someone he knew.

"Hello," Xievian greeted.

He waited for the reply, but it was silent on the other side, aside from someone's heavy breathing.

What Xievian lacked the most was patience. So he said hello once again and waited for the caller to respond.

But the moment the caller spoke, it was an eerie question.

"Why...WHY ARE YOU STILL ALIVE?"

Xievian was baffled by the question. To be honest, the caller's voice sounded horrible, like non-lubricated rusty gears from a clock. It didn't sound good.

Despite the creepy question, Xievian did not hang up. He asked back, "I don't know, Sir. But why do you know I was dying? Do I know you?"

There were a few seconds of silence. Then the call ended.

Xievian looked at his phone, speechless. Did that man just hang up on him?

Deep down, despite the calmness he displayed, Xievian knew that he needed to be cautious. That call revealed some new piece of information. Someone seemed to want him dead so badly. But who's bored enough to dedicate their time to him?

He grew up very mediocre. Although he is not an idiot and could be considered somewhat smart, he just doesn't have the ambition to excel.

He actually admired those people who put in their 100%. Those people are very goal-driven and full of burning passion about their dreams. Xievian could never muster that kind of enthusiasm in life.

So basically, he lived a mediocre life. Not standing out and especially not having an enemy that is hell-bent on killing him.

Now that he encountered the system, he had a guess. He never experienced any assassination attempts, but that man clearly expected him to be dead. All he could think of was his illness. It was marked as unknown and was the first to be seen by the doctor. Could it be that they were the ones who did this to him? If that's the case, then why?

He stood up from the floor. He was still wearing his black pajamas. He stretched his body; he could hear his bones creak.

"Whatever, what will come will come. I might as well try and earn some Life Points," he murmured as he walked toward his laptop.

After grabbing it, he plopped down on his bed to search for haunted locations.

Of course, he planned to search for those places that didn't look too dangerous. He is a member of a forum where horror enthusiasts gather, people here are very knowledgeable about haunted topics.

Just as he was about to log into his account, he paused. Hm, should he create a new identity? Like the one he will use during the livestreaming?

He clicked 'Create New Account,' and when the 'Type your name' prompt popped up, he thought for a moment.

Hmm, what's the most notable feeling he has right now? Hmm. It should be that he felt hungry.

He typed in—

Hungry God

...

And thus began the birth of the strongest God. The Hungry God.
