Agnes pov:
I finally woke up in cold sweat after what felt like hours. If I said i was not scared that will be a lie. Even though he can't find me here and I won't see him again I was still scared. I unconsciously felt scared.
I didn't not know I made it through ten years of torture but I was proud of myself for scaling through it. If it were to be another person in my shoes they would have probably committed suicide.
Why do people always think of suicide when ever they encounter any problem? Will suicide solve anything? If I had committed suicide, I am sure that my father will shed fake tears in front of the blind neighbours.
What a life!
I have finally calm down and went to brush my teeth and take my bath. After taking my bath I wore one of my dresses or rags.
Today I was going to look for a thrift store to buy some clothes. Yes a thrift store, I don't have money to go a boutique. I was as poor as a church rat. Speaking of church, I should look for church that I can worship in.
You may be thinking why was I still looking for a church after what a pastor, the person I call a father has done to me. I am going to church to seek the face of God not for the people there.
It is indeed funny, how some people will have absolute faith in their pastor instead of God. They are willing to do anything the pastor ask of and whenever anything good happen in their life, the first person they will thank will be the pastor not God.
I am not saying that the pastors should be disrespected, because they are the servants of God, but we should give all the thanks that belongs to God to God!
Because humans have no power of their own,it is only God that has the power to influence our life.
Back to me, after I had had my breakfast at the food stall, I headed out to look for the thrift store the lady at the food stall told me about.
The lady at the food stall was very nice and would always pack my food in a container before I get there. I decided to ask her if she knew any thrift store around since I was new here and she directed me to a thrift store just a street away.
On my way I saw a stray cat looking very hungry and decided to give her my leftover. After she ate, I decided to bring her back to my house because I didn't want her to die on the street. But I brought her to a pet shop that was near where I was to check if she had any diseases after confirming that she was just malnourished, I brought her home.
After I settled her down and arranged a space for her to stay, I headed out again. I finally got to the thrift store, it was just a small building with few customers.
I entered the shop and bell rang " ding" alerting the shop owner that a person was in the shop.
" welcome to my small shop young lady. My name is Mrs Oliver" the shop owner said
She was tall and had green eyes and a brown hair. She looked like she was in her middle age but never the less she was still beautiful unlike most people of her age.
" Thank you ma , my name is Agnes and I have come to shop for a few clothes" I responded to her.
"Okay dear go ahead" Mrs Oliver said and I gave a smile in response. The shop had a lot of decent clothes and I saw a few that I liked.
I went to the counter to pay and waved to Mrs Oliver as I exited the shop.
I had to go home first to wash the clothes first and check on lilly, the cat before I go to look for a church.
On my way back to the apartment complex, I noticed a church. It was a high building and had multi coloured glasses and a big cross in the middle of the church.
I decided to come here tomorrow, Sunday.
I bought food with the little money left on me for lilly and myself before I entered the complex.
After washing the clothes and spreading it on the cloth line. I gave some food to lilly and also eat some.
After taking a bath and wearing my pyjamas, I switched off the light and went to bed. What a hectic day I thought before sleeping.
