Chapter 11 - WEAPONS

LOGAN'S POV

"Where is the bitch?" Brian demanded as I sat on his bed.

"Who?" I asked, feigning ignorance.

"You know who I'm talking about, Logan," he muttered.

"How would I know when you're not telling me who you are talking about?"

He huffed in annoyance.

I knew I was annoying him. That's what I do annoy him and push him to his limit.

Right now, he looked just like how I found him the first time we met.

"Fine then. The girl from the dungeon, the one chained by her hands," he muttered.

Kitten...

"Oh, you mean kitten," I said.

"Did you just give her a nickname?" His voice dripped with anger.

"How many times did you guys fucked? Did you drink her blood? Now, is she your sex-

Before he could finish his sentence, I punched him in the face. Not enough to draw blood, because if I did draw blood, he would be dead.

"Firstly," I said, my jaw clenching. "She's not a slave. Secondly, I owe you no explanation for why she's with me," I muttered.

He glared at me with anger. "Oh, now you hit me for a girl now?"

"That girl is your sister. Why are you treating her like an enemy?" I muttered.

"She's not my sister, Logan," he stated coldly.

"You know I hate lies, Brian. Don't make me angry."

"I saw what happened in the throne room the other day. She called your father, Father."

"That's because she's my father's daughter!" I yelled angrily.

"What?"

"My father cheated on my mother,

When he went to war in another kingdom, he brought her mother into the palace as a maid. She seduced him and got pregnant, and that is where she appeared, from an unholy union of a maid and a king."

I gazed at him, filled with anger.

"That doesn't make sense as to why you guys treat her like an enemy, like some kind of witch," I stated, anger trailing on the tip of my tongue.

"You were there in the throne room, weren't you? You saw what she did to my sister," he muttered in hatred.

"Anything could have happened to her. She could have been choking, like all humans do," I said, but he shook his head defensively.

"And besides, your sister deserved what happened to her that day," I finished, plumping back on the bed.

"How can you say that? My sister did what was right! That bitch caused the death of one of our strongest soldiers."

"No, you guys are the ones who killed him. She had nothing to do with it," I muttered lazily.

"And besides, if he didn't die now, he would've been dead on the battlefield," I finished.

"Logan, you're not getting this -"

"I have said what I have to say. I am bringing her back here, and if I see a scratch or an injury on her, I will sever all alliances with the human realm and destroy our ten years of friendship," I stated.

I saw him visibly tense, his jaw ticking.

Of course, he needed my friendship and alliance with his kingdom. With an alliance with the vampire realm, all other human kingdoms trembled beneath their feet. With our alliance, they held fear and power in the grip of their palms.

So if we shattered that connection, they would be nothing...

"I'll take your silence as an answer," I said, standing up from his bed.

"Logan," he called out.

I turned my back on him.

"You're going to regret supporting her," he muttered.

I faced him, my head held high. I was taller than him, so it was easy.

I smirked evilly. "The only thing you're gonna regret is threatening me."

"You're my friend, so I'm going to tell you what is right and what is wrong," he muttered.

I scoffed. "Screw that friendship," I muttered before teleporting to my room.

There she was.

Kitten. Her face pale, her long lashes resting on her cheeks, strands of her blue hair scattered all over the black sheet like silk.

'So beautiful,' my demon muttered inside my head.

And I didn't deny it.

She looked beautiful, but not as much as

Emily did.

'Not that bitch again,' my demon growled.

I ignored him.

I just don't understand why my demon hates the mention of Emily's name.

Even when I was with her, he tried to resurface and harm her.

I walked up to the side of the bed. She was under the covers.

"Logan... please," that was the voice I heard when I came out from the bathroom.

She fell unconscious. I didn't know what happened to her, and I was determined to find out when she woke up.

I looked outside the curtains. It was going to be dusk soon.

She's going to be in danger if she stays here.

"Kitten," I whispered her name.

"Kitten, I need you to open your eyes now," I muttered.

Nothing.

I was met with nothing but silence...

I groaned in frustration.

I didn't know what was wrong with her...

She needs to see a doctor, but I couldn't bring a vampire to help her. It was hard enough for me not to drink her blood and do sinful things to her.

And I couldn't take her to her realm with her being awake...

"No..." her voice muttered in her sleep.

"Logan... please... no," she gasped as she sat up on the bed.

"Kitten," I called out her name.

She gazed in my direction, with a mix of confusion, betrayal, anger, and most of all, fear.

She touched her chest, as if something was stuck there, and her neck.

I furrowed my brows.

What happened?

I tried to reach out to her, but she flinched and pushed my hands away from her.

"St... stay away from me," she muttered.

"Please," she added weakly.

I furrowed my brows further.

"What's wrong, kitten?" I asked.

"Don't... call me that, please," she muttered.

For some reason, my heart ached at the sound of her voice.

She is scared of me.

"Kitten, you had a bad dream."

"No... you tried to kill me," she muttered as she lowered her head.

"I didn't try to kill you, and I will never do such a thing."

She raised her head to gaze at me.

"I promise," I added.

I never made promises and kept them, but now I'm willing to make a promise that I know I will keep.
