Chapter 9 - Someone/Something Interested!

Chapter 9

The dream or whatever Leonidas would dare to call it if he was actually paying attention to what is it.

Was definitely not something that he should not be paying attention too, this was something he'd never felt or even dreamt about before so it was new and weird for him.

There he was sleeping his eyes were twitching and from the groaning and the movement of his body; it was a sure thing that whatever he was dreaming, wasn't something good.

A mysterious figure was busy floating around or moving through the shadows; it was really uncertain.

But one thing that was for sure was that this thing did not come from the vampire region and if that was the case; it meant that this thing was not from any of the six clans.

Where it came from was unknown, but the devastation it left and gave was inhuman and could not be handled by normal people, or let alone weak like Leonidas.

When it was passing it covered the whole sky with darkness wherever it passed by.

Soaring through the sky, it finally landed where it needed to land.

And that was where Leonidas was at and doing his daily training, he and his mother's secret spot and hideout.

When it landed it rose from the shadows underneath the beautiful grass, it's effect on the whole place was pure destruction at it's finest.

When it came out of the shadows the whole area from the trees to the beautiful flowery gardens, all lost it's life and turned into grey-ish ash.

It wasn't human, that was shown when it revealed itself, it wasn't a demon or any kind of monster too; it was just a simple plan shadow.

It walked around the secret place let's just call it the Secret Garden, it was walking as if it was looking for something; playing around with its fingers feeling the essence of the grass.

It stopped and took a deep inhalation, more likely a sniff because that's what it was doing sniffing around.

'Sniff... Sniff... Sniff'

Something was disturbing it, as it looked like it couldn't quite sniff out and get the scent that it actually needed.

It looked up at the beautiful night sky, gazing at the beautiful stars and a beautiful full moon.

"Huh, so that's what blocking me from pin pointing what I'm actually looking for." Talking to itself.

It just snapped its fingers and the whole sky turned completely black; and by black I mean abyss and void black.

The sky was completely black, the stars were white; and the moon looked like it was going through the eclipse phase.

After doing so, it felt a surge of powerful release more like wind emanating through the whole garden.

'What's this energy? Is it a sigil? No, it can't be if it was a sigil I would know, so this wasn't a vampire. I wonder what it is.' it walked straight to where the power release was at it's best.

What it saw wasn't something that it knew, this power was different powerful yet ominous.

There was a mark in that spot, a star inside there was a crucifix emblem; that was crackling up with immense electricity.

Like something powerful and yet not demonic, but very and extremely evil.

The figure was in a human form, it's eyes were as red as blood; it wanted to get closer to this energy it was experiencing before it's very own eyes.

Yet for some reason, it hesitated.

"This power tastes amazing, but something in me, doesn't want to get closer to it. And I wonder why?" It was interested.

At the end it ignored that feeling and just decided to see and test the waters, on what would happen if it got closer.

With each inch it was pulling closer, something else was happening; it was like this emblem was pulling and draining away it's power, but it didn't know that.

It stopped exactly where the emblem was and started to inhale all of the power.

Gulp! Gulp! Gulp!

After it inhaled all of the emblem's power and energy, it felt a surge of power coursing through its body and veins.

"Ahhhh! Now I am definitely going to be powerful." It smiled giving off a sinister smile.

A minute didn't even come to pass, and already something was happening to the figure; it was some kind of negative effects.

It felt it's heart beating with presition, yet feeling like it wants to rip out from it's chest; it's eyes felt like they wanted to pop out from their sockets.

"What? What the hell is happening to me?" It realised.

While watching it's body tremble like it was having a seizure, all over it's body boils appeared trying to rub them off; spreading around quickly.

The dark energy it was giving disintegrated leaving it to be just a shell of a shadow.

"Heh...heh...heh!"

It was breathing heavily, and what it saw with it's own very eyes; was pure darkness itself.

Smiling before it, something in a form of shadow with purple eyes and blood red tongue sticking out.

Not knowing what else was going to happen, the figure just transformed into a crow and floated going the direction of the castle.

It flew around for some time looking for a place where it could land, at its current state it knew very well that it had to land somewhere; it wasn't going to be discovered.

The truth was this figure was way more powerful than the great and powerful Valak Clan and it's other five powerful vampire families combined, but now it wasn't.

The castle was under intense surveillance, so there was nowhere, it could land; hide until it's gotten all back it's powers and full strength.

Feeling tired and weak, drained of all it's life force energy; it finally saw an opened window and decided to land there.

It landed, and shifted back to it's shadow form; but it look like it wasn't going to be able to sustain that form for long.

The window it landed in, was Leonidas's room; today he was so tired after what happened, he didn't even close the window.

"It looks like I'm going to take refuge here for the meantime." Trying to maintain it's form and feeling unbearable pain.

It didn't realise that there was actually a person there lying in bed, until the wind blew the sheets away from Leonidas; who was having a bad nightmare... He was actually sweating and also trembling with fear.

'Poor soul, he must be suffering because of my presence and aura. But, I thought all the Valak children were powerful... I guess this one is an exception, because I can't feel and sense it's sigil.' the shadow assumed.

Unexpectedly it felt a little bit of strike in it's heart, a familiar feeling it just experienced not so long ago.

"Oh, no... That thing has found me again."

It looked around with much caution, hoping to spot whatever that thing was; to it's surprise it wasn't there and there at the same time.

It felt the presence circulating around Leonidas's room, it's eyes met with Leonidas's sleeping body and that's when it saw... It.

The dark emblem that just traumatized it, when it saw it; it almost fell off.

'Impossible!' it said with disbelief.

Indeed it was impossible, how could something so dark and powerful come from this frail and young boy.

'It's not an illusion, it's the same one. But, now it's faint.' the figure approached Leonidas.

Who was deep in his sleep and from the looks of it, he wanted to wake up but couldn't; so he was busy twitching.

What the figure saw, confirmed it's unwanted suspicion; when it saw the emblem burn out from Leonidas's hand.

It backed up, almost tripping over.

It approached him again, this time reaching out it's hand to feel; and indeed it did feel the faint power surging from him.

"Who is this boy, and what is he? Because he's definitely not just an ordinary vampire, because he's no human either, so what is he really?"

This mysterious figure standing next to Leonidas was an entity, an entity that was never given a name; but it was a known species all over the world.

It was a conduit, a slave of some sort; it was contracted to the demons and had sold it's soul for whatever desire it had, while it was still alive.

They were often nicknamed Parasytes; because they were often found consuming any living thing's spiritual energy, aura or even presence.

"So this is the mysterious anomaly that got even the higher ups talking? The one who's soul and presence severed the chains connecting him to the one, who brought him here?"

The figure couldn't actually believe it.

It actually took time and looked at Leonidas and just saw a young and innocent boy, who just didn't know what he has done and what he has awakened.

That's when it decided that it was going to be his guardian and watch over him, and as time goes on; take her under her wing and train him.

But first what it had to do was find a lie that it was going to tell to it's masters and chain of command.

For the first time in it's life of living for over centuries, it looked like it had hope that finally it might be free from all of this.

It walked next to Leonidas and slept next to him and held him close to it.
