The battle for survival began. "Forget what I said about using only your magical energy." Lyra stone spoke her eyes all she of dark. Her countenance cold.
"This is no longer just a magic training drill. It is now a survival drill.
"Your orders are not to die! she screamed as she charged towards the giant winged wolves that towered above us.
Cold sweat ran down my spine. This was my first combat ever. With only my golden coat as Armour. No weapon in hand I Charge behind Lyra. My battle cry contesting the howls of the winged wolves.
Clenching my fists into a ball, I settled a punch on a warrior winged wolf pushing it back a few meters. My resolve steeled as i notice the impact of my hit. my punches visit all the wolves surrounding me But they only push back the weaker wolves. They whine in pain but stand back up to protect thier kin.
The gnawing, and clawing from all angles seemed overwhelming. Only with the help of my coat I was able to evade.
I could not evade for long. I have to pick them one by one. From the weakest. I needed every attack to count.
Ryker's words came to my mind instantly. "With Speed 3v3n with a blunt knife you can take down a foe.
Clenching my hand into fists. I dived into the sky. Tearing through the air my fist dig through fur as my body shoot through one end of the warrior tiered beast and surge through the other end killing the beast instantly.
I use the tactic again and again on the weaker wolves and avoid the pack leaders.
thier wings were much stronger and harder from just glancing at them under the clear moonlight that illuminated the night. I could not take a chance, failure meant demise and i could not risk it. Not now that i have all i dreamt about.
Thier frustration grow as we continue to reduce thier numbers. The Aplhas would charge at me throwing hot red flames my way as thier mouths parted.
This was new for me and difficult to avoid even with my golden coat. I was no match for thier effective pack work.
They seem to know how to work together. The flames would chase me creating an opening for the other alpha to roast me. But each time I would you one of thier own as shield.
Reducing them all until only two alphas were left for me.
My legs were wobbly from exhaustion. Blood and sweat roll to my lips. My vision blurry as I curse these beasts. th3 winged alphas look ruffled too. I notice they adjust to each and every of my attack and they are patiently waiting for me to burn out.
The fight was fierce but we are evenly matched. Only if i had trained for some months before facing these wolves the story would have been different .
With the excess mana from two magical core my body which is yet to master the stress and fatigue is threatening to leave leave me with these beasts.
I glance over at Lyra who is also struggling with the winged alphas.
Her sword caught between the wings of one and her shield digging to its back.
"Only if I had a weapon." I uttered to myself as despair washed through me. I saw how much easier it would have been for me.
The winged wolves were also taking thier time to rest. A smile crept on my face as my I patting realization downed on me. I am a handful for two winged alpha wolves.
A heavy thud reverberate through the forest as one of the winged alphas facing Lyra falls in defeat.
The fwo charge at me trying to escape thier fate by killing me.
Physically my body can only handle one more spell before I fall. There is no way Lyra could defeat the last one facing her before these two gobble me up.
My only solution is to act fast and save myself. Lyras words flashed in my mind."they can fly too. The sky is not safe too. All we can do is fight."
I look at my com link. There was no one I could call for help.
I take a deep breathe resigning to my fate. I close my eyes and reach for my cores. If I have to die. I probably should do it in style.
I drew in breath and steadied my mind as I exhaled I notice my cores vibrate vigorously as the air around me begins to shift. I feel every particle in both cores as they move like dust finely tuned I arrange them one over the other.
The hair grew violently around me pulling everything into the brewing mixture of zaps and chaotic wind emanating from my perfectly merged core.
A sea of purple and gold held together by tiny sparks engulfed in a windy orb.
I can feel the ropes of sparks perfectly aligned being channeled from my body into my enviroment..
This was it. I stretch my hand forward towards the first winged wolf which had already closed the distance between us. Aiming to take my head with its jaw wide open.
Streams of lightening rush from my arm in large torrent ripping the troat of the beast creating a path that shatters the rest of its body.
I aim at the second winged wolf. It was trying to change its course in a maneuver motion flapping its wings to reach for the skies.
With my blurt vision I steady my left am sending the last batch of energy I could muster through the belly of the beast dividing its body into two halves.
The aches from the cuts on my unprotected chest and head Trob louder than my heart beat.
Triumph wash over me as my lips curve into a weak smile. My eyes close as body slump to the floor. My consciousness drifting slowly as I try to open them back.
