Chapter 2 - Chapter two

Aria's POV

As I stood with rage, hiding behind a rock, my scorching gaze followed Dante and his pack as they departed from the ravaged remains of my home, and when Dante sensed my eyes upon him, he turned to face me, our gazes locking in a fierce stare-down, the air thick with animosity, before he snarled an order at one of his hunters, ordering them to capture me.

I sprinted across the rocky terrain, my paws pounding the earth in a blur of speed. Dante's hunter, a sleek and agile wolf, was hot on my heels, but I was the fastest fox in my pack. I had to be.

I darted between two large boulders, using my agility to evade the wolf's snapping jaws. I could hear his frustrated yips and snarls as he realized he couldn't catch me.

Finally, I saw the safety of my pack's territory up ahead. I poured on the speed, my heart racing with fear and adrenaline.

As I emerged from the rocks, I saw my pack's settlement in ruins. Buildings were destroyed, trees were uprooted, and the air was thick with the acrid smell of smoke and blood.

My heart sank, and I felt a wave of despair wash over me. I stumbled towards the center of the settlement, my eyes scanning the devastation.

That's when I saw my father, our pack's alpha, lying on a makeshift bed, a doctor tending to his wounds. His eyes were closed, and his chest was rising and falling with shallow breaths.

I rushed to his side, my heart racing with fear. "Father!" I cried, my voice shaking.

The doctor looked up at me, his expression grim. "Aria, I'm glad you're safe. Your father is badly hurt, but he'll survive."

I nodded, trying to process the devastation around me. I looked outside, and my eyes were met with a scene from a nightmare. Foxes, my pack members, lay lifeless on the ground, their bodies broken and battered.

Smoke and dust filled the air, and the smell of blood was overwhelming. It was as if the very earth itself was weeping for the dead.

I fell to my knees, my eyes streaming with tears. I screamed and cried, my body shaking with rage and grief. My eyes boiled with vengeance, and I cursed Dante and his Bloodmoon Pack.

"May you burn in the depths of hell!" I screamed, my voice hoarse from shouting. "May your pack be destroyed, and may you suffer the same pain and loss you've inflicted on us!"

I wept and wailed, my heart shattered into a million pieces. I couldn't bear the thought of living in a world without my pack, without my family.

As I knelt there, surrounded by death and destruction, I made a vow to myself. I would make Dante pay for what he had done. I would make him suffer, and I would make sure he never hurt anyone again.

The thought of revenge burned within me, a fire that would fuel my every waking moment. I would not rest until Dante was brought to justice, until he was made to pay for his crimes.

And as I looked out at the devastation around me, I knew that my journey for revenge had just begun.

With a heavy heart, I summoned my powers to gently lift the lifeless bodies of my fallen pack members, one by one, and transported them to our sacred burial grounds, a place we reverently called the "Foxes Rest".

As I laid the fifty fallen foxes to rest, I ignited a funeral pyre, and the flames engulfed their bodies, releasing their spirits into the afterlife. Standing before the roaring fire, I paid my final respects, my voice trembling with grief and rage as I vowed to exact vengeance upon the Bloodmoon Pack, swearing to destroy them, and restore honor to my pack.

I rushed back to my father's chambers, my heart still heavy with grief. As I entered, I saw my father sitting up, his eyes weak but conscious. I ran to him, embracing him tightly as tears streamed down my face.

"I'm so sorry, Father," I sobbed. "I'm sorry I couldn't do anything to help. You should have let me fight alongside you."

My father's expression was etched with pain and regret. "There's nothing you could have done, Aria," he said, his voice weak but firm. "Dante is a ruthless and strong alpha. He would have killed you for sure."

I pulled back, my eyes blazing with determination. "I'm not a pushover, Father. I'm the strongest fox in our pack. I could have destroyed him."

My father's expression turned stern. "You're strong, but you would have gotten hurt. Dante is not someone to be underestimated."

I sniffled, wiping my nose with the back of my hand. "We'll find a way to get revenge on him. What can we do, Father?"

My father's eyes gleamed with a hint of a plan. "I have an idea," he said, his voice low and mysterious.

Just then, Ryker, my father's right-hand man, spoke up. "We'll send you 5,000 years back in time to stop this from happening and to get revenge on him."

I stared at Ryker, incredulous. "How will you send me back in time?"

My father held out an ancient mirror.. "This is what you'll use to go back in time. It's been passed down through our pack for generations, it is the mirror of the past."

I took the mirror, feeling its strange energy coursing through me. "How do I use it?"

My father's eyes locked onto mine. "Hold the mirror, look straight into the eyes etched on it, and say the name of Dante's pack. You'll appear there, 5,000 years in the past."

I nodded, determination burning within me. I would go back in time, stop Dante, and restore honor to my pack.

The next day, I stood before my father, the mirror clutched in my hand. Tears streamed down my face as I hugged him tightly.

"Father, I'll be back," I whispered, my voice trembling. "I'll make sure Dante pays for what he's done."

My father's eyes were red-rimmed as he hugged me back. "Be careful, Aria. Come back to me."

The rest of the foxes gathered around, their faces somber. They bowed to greet me, their voices filled with well-wishes.

"Aria, may the ancestors guide you," one of them said.

"May you return victorious," another added.

I bowed, my heart swelling with gratitude. With a final glance at my father, I turned and focused on the mirror.

I looked deep into the etched eyes, my voice steady. "Bloodmoon Pack, 5,000 years back."

A jolt of electricity shot through my body, and I felt myself being pulled apart and put back together again. My senses reeled as I stumbled through a dark, tunnel-like void.

As the glowing eyes drew closer, I prepared myself for a fight, my heart pounding in my chest. But instead of a fierce predator, I saw a figure that made my blood run cold.

I stood frozen, my eyes wide with shock, as I took in the scene before me. I was standing in a grand hall, surrounded by the Bloodmoon Pack. And at the center of it all, I saw myself, dressed in a beautiful wedding gown, standing beside Dante.

The Dante I knew was ruthless and cruel, but the Dante standing beside me was smiling, his eyes shining with happiness.
