Chapter 15 - The Magic Apprentice of Class Thirteen

When Asura heard the girl teasingly greet him, his face immediately darkened. He turned his head away, swearing to himself that he would never talk to that silly girl again!

Clara, seeing his sulking expression, found it even more amusing. Ever since she grew up, the boys she had met, aside from those from her family, had all been polite and graceful, showcasing their best selves around her like peacocks displaying their feathers. But this seemingly clumsy black-haired boy was completely different, which intrigued her.

Curious about him, she sat down next to him, almost as if by instinct.

They didn't speak loudly, so the others couldn't hear their conversation. They only saw Clara laughing behind her hand, as if mocking Asura's odd attire, just like the others had.

Meanwhile, a few boys quietly moved to the back row, trying to get closer to the goddess in their midst.

Other girls in the class, seeing the attention Clara received, could only shrug. After all, they didn't have the courage to compete with her looks.

Just when the attention of the class was focused on the back of the room, a pleasant bell rang.

At the same time, a young female teacher, with a beauty rivaling Clara's, walked into the classroom.

The female teacher was stunningly beautiful, with a charming and alluring appearance, yet her aura was noble and elegant. The purple magic robe she wore complemented her devilish figure, giving her a more mature, sophisticated vibe than Clara.

After standing at the center of the podium, she greeted the class enthusiastically: "Hello, new students of Magic Class Thirteen! I am your homeroom teacher, Ayla! From now on, I'll be leading Class Thirteen, and if you have any questions about magic cultivation, feel free to ask me. I hope we can have a pleasant time together in the future. Thank you!"

Her confident and gracious class introduction made everyone snap back to attention.

The boys were especially excited—who would have thought that such a small class would have two goddess-like beauties? Studying at Saint Goban really felt like a blessing!

Ayla was an outstanding graduate from the academy, with her grandfather, Ivy, being a renowned magic professor at the school. His strength had reached the terrifying level of a Grand Mage.

Ayla had grown up with her grandfather, while her parents were high-ranking officials in the empire. After graduating, she chose to stay at the academy as a teacher.

Having reached the level of a Second-Rank Mage herself, Ayla was more than qualified to be the homeroom teacher of a new student class.

When Ayla decided to stay at the academy, many of her excellent male peers, who had been pursuing her, also decided to remain at the academy and continue teaching, hoping to win her favor. However, none of them had managed to catch her eye so far.

This was Ayla's first time being a homeroom teacher, and she was a bit nervous. Fortunately, the academy had assigned her to a small class, Class Thirteen, with the fewest students!

All of them were Thunder Magic users, with a total of fourteen students—seven boys and seven girls—which highlighted how rare Thunder Magic users were! Otherwise, the school wouldn't have made an exception to admit them.

Thunder Magic, once fully developed, was one of the most powerful schools of magic in terms of damage, which made it even more valuable to cultivate.

Initially, Ayla was pleased with having a small class that would be easy to manage. But when she received the student information sheet, her joy quickly faded.

The good news was that four of the fourteen students had already reached the level of Magic Apprentices, which was higher than any other class.

The bad news, however, was that one of the students in her class was a Magic Apprentice!

She couldn't believe it, so she rushed to her best friend's office to confirm whether the information was a mistake. The teacher who had been responsible for admissions explained the situation, and Ayla couldn't help but laugh wryly.

Her kind-hearted nature wasn't concerned about the fact that this student might pull the class's average down; rather, she was worried that, during the upcoming evaluation in three months, this student would be eliminated from the academy!

Thus, she remembered the student's name very clearly—Asura.

She secretly decided to give Asura extra guidance and attention, hoping to help him improve his skills and avoid being eliminated. If he failed, her class would only have thirteen students left...

As Ayla looked at the excited expressions on the new students' faces, she felt a bit embarrassed. She noticed that many of the front row seats, which were usually highly sought after, were empty, with most students choosing to sit at the back.

When she looked over and saw the silver-haired girl, her concerns immediately melted away.

She smiled and said, "Now, I will take attendance. When I call your name, please stand and answer!"

Ayla called out the names of the students one by one, and with each name, she glanced at the standing students to familiarize herself with them.

When she called out Clara's name, the boys in the class erupted in cheers.

Ayla smiled and didn't pay much attention, but when she reached the last name on the list, her expression became serious. "Asura!"

At the same time, a tall, well-built boy with black hair stood up and answered, "Here!"

Ayla stared at the boy, thinking to herself, So this is Asura?

How should I help him raise his level? Would being too forceful affect his self-esteem?

While Ayla was deep in thought, the students in the class had no idea what she was pondering. They only saw their beautiful homeroom teacher staring blankly at the strange black-haired boy.

Is he really the Thunder Magic user in our class?

Why is the teacher looking at him like that? Has she been charmed by him? This kid isn't even that good-looking...

The students whispered among themselves, and even Clara furrowed her brows slightly.

Asura, unsure of what was happening, wondered, Did I somehow startle the teacher with my handsome looks? Surely not...

Being a young man with thin skin, Asura couldn't handle the teacher's intense gaze.

He called out, "Teacher, can I sit down now?"

The call snapped Ayla out of her trance. Realizing she had lost her composure, her beautiful face flushed, and she hurriedly answered, "Yes, yes, you may."

Her unusual behavior made everyone look back and forth between the two of them, with a few girls even sensing some gossip in the air!

Ayla took a moment to gather herself before speaking: "Starting today, we will officially begin the lessons. The schedules for each instructor's classes are posted on the bulletin board outside the main classroom!"

"This classroom is our class's home base, but not all lessons will be held here. You are free to choose courses and instructors that you prefer!"

"Our goal is to pass the assessment test in three months. I hope everyone will put in extra effort, and I will do my best to help you all!"

She finished her speech with a lingering glance at Asura.

"Now, let's select class officers. Since we have a small class, we'll only elect a class president and a study committee member."

"The class officers must cooperate closely to manage and serve the class well. Any student who wishes to run for these positions may stand up and make a campaign speech!"

After hearing this, everyone looked around at each other, but no one spoke up. They likely feared that holding a class officer position might affect their personal training.

Seeing this, Ayla smiled slightly and added, "I forgot to mention earlier—students who take on class officer roles will receive extra academy points!"

As soon as those words left her mouth, the students rushed to sign up, eager to gain as many points as possible, especially after the dean had emphasized the importance of academy points the day before.

However, just as the excitement was building, a single voice broke the brief silence, and the classroom erupted into applause.

That voice came from Clara, who volunteered to be class president. There was no opposition, nor any thought of competition; after all, her beauty outshone everything!

Ayla, pleased, said, "Then Clara will be our class president. Now, who wants to be the study committee member?"

As soon as she finished speaking, several boys eagerly jumped up, but Asura, watching from the sidelines, noticed that Clara shot him a look. It seemed as if she was silently telling him, You should sign up for study committee member!

Asura immediately backed down, avoiding her gaze and looking out the window.

He wasn't about to be the study committee member—imagine the other classes laughing at a Magic Apprentice being in such a position!

In the end, it was the skinny boy who had earlier arranged Clara's seat who was successfully elected as the study committee member.

The boy's name was Kyle, and he was also a Thunder Magic user at the First-Rank level. His family background was strong, and he was thrilled to be paired with Clara as class officers. His eyes would frequently flicker toward Clara in the back row, burning with excitement.

Clara, however, sat expressionless, her mind already mentally striking someone down with a lightning bolt countless times.

Finally, Ayla handed out the academy uniforms—magic robes—for the students.

She instructed everyone to wear their magic robes from now on, and with that, the lessons at Saint Goban Magic Academy officially began...
