Chapter 24 - Sprinting Towards the Assessment

The two girls stared dumbfounded at Asura, who stood before them, speaking confidently about the negotiation plan he had thought up the night before.

The boy's words had far surpassed their expectations—this was someone they had never encountered before, so shameless!

The two exchanged a glance, and with a single look, they silently agreed to cooperate for the first time.

Maggie spoke in a low voice, "What you're saying sounds good, but you know what? We don't need to spend any points to beat you up!" After saying this, Lan Yu swiftly kicked Asura, sending him flying again!

Asura never expected them to be so unreasonable. As he saw the two girls rolling up their sleeves, preparing to approach him, he hurriedly shouted, "Calm down! Calm down! If you think the price is too high, we can talk about it! I didn't say I couldn't negotiate! How about four hundred points, okay?"

"Don't come any closer, three hundred points! Three hundred points, is that okay?"

"I do have some pride, alright? The last offer—two hundred points! Two hundred points, how about that?"

"One hundred! One hundred points per month! If that's not enough, I'll stop coming to the training ground for class! I'll keep my word!"

Upon hearing this, the two girls really did stop. They exchanged glances, muttered among themselves for a while, then turned back to face the dejected Asura.

Maggie tried hard to suppress her laughter and said, "Alright, it's settled then. One hundred points per month, we'll try it for a month. If you try to back out, we'll come to your dorm and beat you up!"

Asura sighed in relief and impatiently said, "Fine, fine! Pay the points first and we'll start the trial!" With that, he pulled out his badge to exchange the points.

The two girls were inwardly laughing, but kept their cool on the outside. They handed over their badges and transferred the points.

However, when Asura saw the amount of points they transferred, he immediately became displeased and shouted at the two girls, "Are you two crazy? Didn't we agree on one hundred points per month? Why did you transfer only fifty points each?"

The two girls held back their laughter. Lan Yu, with a calm expression, said, "We're splitting the bill, one day each. We agreed that today you'll train with Maggie, and tomorrow you'll train with me. Remember, no skipping, no being late. If you do, we'll beat you up together!"

Asura stood there, staring at the two beautiful girls. Who ever said that beautiful girls are always kind-hearted? These two were clearly bullying me, the big punching bag! The more he thought about it, the angrier he became!

Asura's anger surged, and his fighting spirit ignited. Before he could even begin to launch his signature Thunder Fist technique, two large swords—one a giant cleaver and the other glowing with blue light—were already positioned at his neck.

Instantly, Asura's momentum faltered. He dropped his hands, and, with stubbornness in his voice, he shouted his last protest: "I said, no hitting my face from now on..."

Thus, Asura began his grueling training routine, alternating between the magic academy and the training ground. If the magic lessons were too difficult for him to understand, he wouldn't attend. He'd have Clara, his beautiful desk mate, help him take notes, which she did diligently and clearly, making it as simple as possible for Asura to understand. Sometimes, Clara even wrote down some tricky questions, waiting for Asura to ask her for answers the next day.

The training at the training ground was even more exhausting. Not only could Asura not win against the two girls, but they had also both leveled up to the second rank of Martial Masters. It became even harder for him to defend himself. But the two girls didn't give up on practicing with him. Instead, they seemed to enjoy it more and more, and Asura was being beaten up less and less with each session.

In less than a month of practice, Asura broke through to the first rank of Martial Master. The two girls were delighted and happily paid for another month of practice sessions.

Of course, the renewal process was brutal. After feeling a bit more confident, Asura allowed the two girls to double-team him in practice once more...

Time flew by quickly, and the third month of Asura's freshman year was coming to an end. The academy's assessment was fast approaching.

Some new students were excited, eager to make a big impression and even aiming to compete for the title of "Newcomer King!" Others, who hadn't been diligent enough before, now found themselves scrambling to catch up and prepare for the assessment.

On an open area of the training ground, two figures were engaged in a fierce battle. The one with fiery red hair, Maggie, was slightly overpowering Asura, the black-haired boy who was known for being an oddity in the academy. Word had spread among the new students that a magician would often run to the training ground to practice with two beautiful girls. Every time, he was beaten up badly, but he continued to come back every day, seemingly enjoying it.

Everyone assumed that Asura was trying to get closer to the two beautiful girls, even if it meant enduring beatings, but they didn't know how unfair the agreement of one hundred points really was.

Asura's mage robes had already become tattered from the constant battles, but he couldn't bear to exchange them for a new set, as it would cost one hundred points, and he knew just how difficult it was to earn them. Talking about it made him want to cry!

As his rank improved, his battles with the two girls became more intense, and the situation was no longer one-sided. Every time they sparred, Asura was taking fewer and fewer hits.

Maggie, who was fighting Asura, was growing increasingly shocked. She couldn't believe how much he had grown. Though she was still ahead by a small rank, the battle now had back-and-forth moments. She couldn't defeat him without using her full strength.

She had privately observed Lan Yu's battles with Asura, and even she could feel that Lan Yu was not as relaxed as before. Lan Yu, who was usually fast, now seemed to be struggling a bit in their duels!

Of course, the two girls hadn't used their family's powerful techniques—they couldn't control the damage of some of those skills!

Maggie landed a punch that knocked Asura's Thunder Fist aside. This was the first time he had tried to use his strange technique to attack her chest during their training earlier that month. Although she blocked it with her arm, the internal force from the Thunder Fist still struck her left chest. She didn't say anything at the time, but when she undressed in the dormitory that night, she saw a faint purple bruise on her chest.

The next day, she insisted that Lan Yu take over the sparring session with Asura.

Needless to say, the next day, Asura was limping from the aftermath of their training, which made Lan Yu extremely unhappy with the change of training partner.

After three months of relentless training and sparring, Asura's martial skills had greatly improved. He had even begun to feel the threshold for the second rank of Martial Master, and his Thunder Fist technique had become much more refined. He was now able to execute the technique with two thunderclaps, meaning two instances of internal force.

However, he had not yet shown the two girls his full power. He wanted to save the surprise for when he broke through to the second rank of Martial Master—he couldn't let the past three months of being their punching bag go to waste!

In addition to his martial arts progress, Asura's magic had improved tremendously. He had been meditating day and night without rest. He was now at the third rank of Magic Apprentice, but there was still a gap to the required rank of Magic Master for the upcoming assessment.

Despite this, Asura was confident that he would pass the exam, as he had already become a solid Martial Master at the first rank!

Just like that, the assessment for the new students in March is coming soon.

The new students are all adjusting their best state to face this important assessment....
