Chapter 23 - Highest Bidder Wins

Unaware of what was happening, Asura decided he wouldn't go to the training ground today.

He thought it would be better to rest for the day and attend classes at the Magic Academy—after all, being beaten up had taken a toll on his body! However, just as he was about to enter the classroom, his homeroom teacher, Ella, called him into her office.

Reluctantly, Asura followed Ella into her office and stood in front of her. Ella asked him to take a seat, but he firmly refused, indicating that he preferred to stand and listen to her lecture him.

The truth was, as he stood there, he couldn't help but notice the snowy-white cleavage exposed by her low neckline.

Ella glanced at the boy, who had a slightly mischievous smile, and wondered how to approach the conversation in a way that wouldn't hurt his confidence. After a moment of thought, she gave a small smile and asked, "Asura, what level are you at now? Can you share that with me?"

Asura casually replied, "I'm a Level 3 Magic Apprentice. I feel like I'm about to break through to the first stage of Magic Master soon."

Ella was taken aback by his progress. She hadn't expected such rapid improvement in just a few days since the semester started. If he hadn't been held back before, he would probably be one of the top Lightning Element magicians in the class!

She could sense that Asura had a sharp mind. Many strong magic users had quick, open thinking, and Asura possessed this quality.

Ella then asked, "I've heard from some students that you often skip class and hang around the training ground. Is that true?"

Asura didn't have to guess who had informed her—it was definitely that annoying Kyle. From now on, he decided to stay far away from that type of person.

He then admitted, "Yes, teacher, my foundation is too weak. I don't understand some of the classes. Rather than wasting time here, I'd rather go to the training ground and hone my combat skills."

Ella was surprised by his honest response and couldn't help but feel some concern for him. She asked with genuine worry, "Asura, is there anything I can help you with? Don't hesitate to let me know. I believe if you put your mind to it, you can pass the assessment!"

Asura looked at his homeroom teacher in surprise. He could tell from her expression that she wasn't faking her sincerity. Smiling, he replied, "I believe I can pass the assessment too! What you can do for me is, on the day of the assessment, just stand on my side. That's all. If there's nothing else, I'll be going now."

He waved and turned to leave for the classroom. Ella didn't quite understand the meaning behind his last words. She thought for a moment but couldn't figure it out. She shrugged it off, reasoning that he was a smart kid and would get through his difficulties on his own.

Asura returned to the classroom and sat next to Clara. The sweet fragrance of the girl next to him made him inhale deeply. But Clara didn't react, her face turning red to her ears. The two didn't exchange notes and quietly listened to the lesson together.

However, during the break between classes, Asura's desk quickly became filled with challenge letters from students wanting to spar with him. Some wanted to practice their skills, while others—jealous of Maggie and Lan Yu—wanted to challenge him one-on-one.

Asura threw them all into the trash can and muttered angrily, "This is so frustrating! I thought they were love letters, but instead, it's all people wanting to fight me!"

Clara couldn't help but laugh, her eyes narrowing into crescent moons. "You're so bad. Who would write you love letters?"

Before Asura could respond, a group of chubby boys came running in, including the narcissistic boy who sat diagonally in front of him—his name was Na Wei.

Sweating profusely, Na Wei excitedly approached Asura, shouting, "Asura, I heard that the two top beauties, Lan Yu and Maggie, fought over you at the training ground!"

"Asura, quick, teach me how you woo girls! How do you do it? You're not even as handsome as me..." Na Wei rambled on, but the silver-haired girl beside Asura, who had been laughing just moments ago, now turned her head away, her hand gripping the feather pen so tightly it looked like it might snap.

Asura was left bewildered. "They fought over me? I thought they were just teaming up to beat me up! No wonder all these challenge letters came in... They're just trying to make trouble for me..."

Nervously, Asura listened to the rest of the magic class. As soon as the bell rang, he rushed back to the dormitory!

In the living room of the dormitory, Jin Ze and Angelo were quietly scribbling on paper, deep in discussion.

Asura leaned in to take a look, and found they were editing a gossip newsletter, compiling a list of the top ten beauties. It seemed like they were trying to start a little gossip business...

Asura didn't disturb them and went straight upstairs to lie down on his bed. He thought about what he should do tomorrow.

Although he had been beaten up in the past couple of days, the sparring sessions had actually been very beneficial, especially when fighting against the two girls who were stronger than him. Each time, he fought with all his might, and it had greatly helped his improvement!

In the end, he decided to compromise with reality and negotiate with the two girls tomorrow.

After coming to this conclusion, he climbed out of bed and continued his meditation. He felt that his magic level was on the verge of a breakthrough, and it could happen in the next few days...

The next morning, before the classes started, Asura arrived early at the training ground to wait. This training ground was for new students only.

Before long, he saw Lan Yu and Maggie both arriving almost simultaneously. From their slightly damp uniforms, it was clear they had been up early for their morning training.

Strong people were always disciplined and diligent, and Asura couldn't help but feel a little ashamed. But thinking that he had been meditating all night to train, he felt a little more balanced.

When the two girls saw Asura waiting for them, they were momentarily surprised. Did he wait for them?

Instantly, both girls rushed over to him, grabbing his arms and pulling him toward their respective training teams.

Asura nearly exploded, quickly shouting, "Stop! Stop! You two crazy women!"

As soon as he shouted, they let go of his arms, but before he could catch his breath, one of them kicked him with a whip-like leg and the other struck him with a heavy punch, sending him flying.

Before he could get up, the two girls stepped heavily on his chest with their warrior shoes.

Asura looked up and saw the two girls glaring at him, still angry and seemingly intent on finishing him off. He quickly shouted, "Stop, stop! I'm here to negotiate! If you kill me, who will spar with you?"

Hearing this, the two girls finally withdrew their feet, staring coldly at Asura, waiting for him to speak further.

Asura climbed up, brushed off the dirt from his clothes with exaggerated elegance, and smiled politely, saying, "I heard you two both made great progress after sparring with me and both reached the second stage of Warrior. It seems fighting against strong opponents is the quickest way to improve!"

The two girls rolled their eyes in unison, clearly too lazy to respond to him.

Not feeling embarrassed, Asura continued, "I also heard you two fought because of me yesterday. I think this affects the atmosphere. Since you both want to spar with me, let's avoid any unnecessary fights."

"How about this: you two can pay me with your points to spar. Whoever offers more points, I'll spar with them!"

"I only collect these points as compensation for my recovery and my labor fee. With the points, I can improve my level faster. When my level is higher, I can be more compatible with you. You can also grow faster under my guidance, right?"

"You two know that there are people who want to practice with me for 500 points now, and there are a lot of people waiting in line for my schedule to arrange practice. I am a nostalgic person. After all, I am familiar with you two, and you two have fought for me. I can't bear it!"

"So, you can bid now, the highest bidder wins..."
