Chapter 5 - Consequences

"Alice please slow down!" I screamed clutching the car's arm rests.

She was laughing at the situation,"but this is the only time I've seen you make that face, don't worry I would never let a thing happen to you."

I was flexing every muscle in my body trying to control my fear of crashing into the trees zooming past us,"Alice your not a formula 1 driver, God please just drive at 80 at least were not even on the highway."

She was giggling at my plea, "your cheeks are the cutest thing when your blushing, oh this is the last turn."

Alice pulled a quick right turn causing me to move my entire body to the right. I closed my eyes praying we weren't about to die from the car rolling over. Suddenly I felt my body launched foward, thankfully my seat belt held me in place from the sudden stop.

I opened my eyes wide open and thanked my guardian angel. I felt a soft pinch on my left cheek, "come on rabbit we don't have all day."

Opening the door of the car I stumbled out with my legs shaking, this must be how Bella feels on a daily basis. Alice went in front of me and placed the palm of her hand on my forehead, "you alright Peter?"

I moved my head from her freezing hand, "no thanks to you, come let's go inside or you'll catch a cold."

She smiled an unfathomable smile, "don't worry Peter a cold won't keep me away from you."

I could feel my heart send all the spare blood it could to my cheeks, my cheeks were red as a tomato from blushing. At the same time I couldn't understand how this little fairy could make me feel whole again.

She bit her lip seeing my face, her brown eyes trailed down my neck. I was mesmerized by her gaze, unconsciously leaning my chest down to expose my neck. Then I felt my hand twitching rapidly, as if it were an alarm for danger.

I coughed, "um so is this where your house is, in the middle of the forest?"

Alice took a step back shaking her head while she rubbed her neck in embrassment, "ya...Esme my mother should be there. She might have cooked a meal for you."

We started to walk towards her house, "is it alright to leave the car so far away from the house?"

"Yup, it's to show the others your still here in case they come back early. "

"Is that necessary?"

She nodded without explaining further. We walked far enough to break the tree line and her home came into view. The mansion was made of smooth wood, some painted black on the outside, the majority of its walls being made of glass. It was a beautifully designed modern home that fit perfectly in the forest and enhanced its splendor.

"I wish, I'd live here." I mumbled.

"Perhaps one day soon."

I turned to Alice confused and was stunned to see her pointing to her ring finger. "Put a ring on it rabbit. " she teased.

"You'd marry a gold digger?" I said without thinking, trying to mask my nervousness.

"I'm glad to know your for sale Peter, come on I don't want the food to go cold."

I was left flabbergasted by her bluntness and just followed behind her like a lost puppy. We opened the glass door to her home and I was amazed by how light and open the place felt. I felt like a kid at a candy store looking at all the art work they had on display. Alice guided me up the stairs to the kitchen, where I saw a woman just an inch higher then Alice cooking.

She was listening to a cooking video while humming. She had carmel-coloured hair and a heart shaped face. While chopping some vegetables she looked up at us. Her face was gentle and she smiled exposing her dimples, she was gorgeous.

I made eye contact with her, where I saw her golden eyes, My vision darkened for a millisecond until she spoke, "Hello, you must be Peter, Alice has said a lot about you. It's wonderful to finally meet you please sit while I finish the final touches."

For some reason the darkness receded, as if the kindness I felt from her pushed it away. I stood their dumbfounded even though my hand still twitched slightly.

She furrowed and gave me a reassuring smile resembling the worry of mother, "Peter is everything alright? Can I get you a glass of water for the nerves?"

Even in therapy I never felt so heard or 'listened to'. I felt such pure kindness from this stranger that I couldn't associate any malice to her that the visions vanished.

Alice elbowed me softly, "it's rude not to introduce yourself."

"Oh ya sorry Mrs Cullen you ah-just reminded me of someone."

"It's fine Peter, just call me Esme, go on and sit at the table."

Alice proceeded to walk me to their large oak wood table, although it seemed unused. Alice sat next to me while we waited for Esme to finish.

"Peter, do you think Bella and Edward look good together?"

I raised my eyebrow at the question, "No, Edward seems to rather enjoy leaving my sister wondering whether she smells or piss her off."

She sighed, "sorry about that, no matter how much I try to explain to him the absurdity of his actions he won't change. It's at the point where I'll have to interfere to get my happy ending."

"Huh?"

"Don't worry about it Peter just enjoy the ride." She said while putting her elbow on the side of my chair and resting her head on her knuckles, eyeing me seductively.

In spite of being taller then her I felt like I was being hunted by a predator. I tried to change the subject, "so where's the rest of the family?"

She raised an eyebrow, "Out on dates or working. Why, did you want to meet my dad Peter? Perhaps ask the question we've both been waiting for?"

A sweet sugary scent began to fill my nostrils, "I was just wondering Alice. Ah where are we going to do the art project?"

"Let's go on a date Peter."

A familiar knot formed in my stomach, it inclined me to act, as if influencing me to the decision. I felt the words on the tip of my tongue when my left hand interrupted. It twitched on top of my lap waking me from something I could only describe as an illusion.

I turned my head from Alice, squeezed my eyelids shut and opening them after I composed myself. I stared in front of me unwilling to turn and be entangled into that sweet illusion again.

"Sorry Alice I'm busy." The words caused the knot in my stomach to go from discomfort to near pain.

I felt a cold hand my arm, "keep running all you want rabbit, I promise to catch you no matter how many excuses you have."

She grabbed the tip of my chin gently and made me look at her, "I really like you Peter and I just want get to know you better."

"Alright Alice stop teasing the poor boy or you'll frighten him away. Hmm how about I leave you two alone and you treat this dinner as a date."

"Thanks Esme!"

"Ok" was all I could muster to say as I saw Esme disappear as she left.

"Um Alice why is there only one plate? Did you eat already."

"I'm on a special diet don't worry it's fine, I'm content with spoon feeding you."

"Oh hell no I'm perfectly cable of feeding myself thanks. Just tell me what you've done so far on the project while I eat this steak."

Esme made a simple dish, medium rare steak drenched in brown sauce, some mashed potatoes and vegetables on the side. I took a small bite of the steak, "oh my God Alice this is so good, it's perfectly done, is Esme a professional chef?"

She giggled, "no, it's more like she has a good enough eyesight to tell when it's done. Esme dedicates her time to remodeling old homes, our home is just one of the many she's done."

"She has good taste, both her culinary skills and house design. Could you tell her that?"

"Don't worry she knows."

I finished my meal while Alice explained how she made three mock up designs for the project but scrapped one after being too normal to what she's done in the past. It was at that point I realized I'm totally hitching a ride off Alice for an A+. I made a silent agreement with myself that I would assist for the day as much as I could.

Alice took me to her room, I barely got to see the other rooms we passed as she pulled me up to her room with remarkable strength. However most my attention was on our interlocked hands. Even if her hands where still cold as snow I felt an unfamiliar warm fuzzy feeling in my heart.

I was still looking at our hands when I didn't realize we stopped in her room, "hey Peter, eyes on me please, I need to explain the project."

I looked at her and swear I felt my heart stop seeing her smile, "alright little rabbit that's enough staring. I need you to try on the suits."

Alice tipped her head to reveal two mannequins, yet there wasn't any dress to pair with them.

"Where's the dresses you wanted to design so badly?"

She walked towards the middle of mannequins placing her hands on each of their shoulders. Alice had that same look when she was up to something, "you'll see once you take me to the dance."

Then it hit me, "wait a minute no one said anything about wearing them, much less for the spring dance."

She smirked, "your right, no one said anything about the spring dance." Alice began to walk towards me with her hands behind her back, a seductive smile forming on her face, "I meant prom."

My eyes spread wide, like a deer in front of head lights, "sorry Alice I don't dance it's a family trait and we're not that close-"

"Yet." She said with enthusiasm.

She was in front of me by then and pulled my shirt, making me tilt my head to see her in the eye. An annoyed look on her face formed, "you owe me roses Peter, plus it's what I agreed to with the teacher."

"Huh?"

"Yup we made a deal that we have to wear them to prom for full marks. Bella told Edward how hard your working for good marks, I think you me owe another favor if anything."

We stared at one another, both stubborn not willing to relent from our positions.

*tsk* "fine then but we're going as friends and I'll get you roses for prom."

Alice's expression went from annoyed to irittated, "that's not good enough Peter Swan. "

"What more could you want Alice?"

She let out a huff of air, "fine then rabbit, we'll do this the hard way."

Alice jumped on top of me wrapping her arms around my neck while her legs locked behind me. Instinctively I held her rear end so the fool wouldn't fall and stumbled backwards towards the wall from the impact.

"What are you-"

Her lips kissed mine and for a second I tried to pull back yet her divine taste lured me in for more. Her tongue attempted to push through my lips until I relented, taking down what little resistance I had left. She searched my entire mouth looking for my tongue to which we entwined them. I felt an uncontrollable pleasure trail down my spine sending goosebumps through my skin. Alice began to moan sending my thoughts into oblivion, I groaned for more as I groped my hands around her cheeks. She began to hump slowly against me, I mumbled "Alice I want more."

She removed one of her hands from my neck and trailed it slowly down my chest. She reached down to my jeans and when I realized she was slipping her hands in them I opened my eyes. A sliver of a golden glow flickered in her lustful gaze and the men from my deepest horrors came to life once more.

I dropped my hands from her rear end and covered my face with them rapidly, " please stop Alice! I can't please, I'm so sorry I can't."

My body dropped to the floor and I put my legs in front of me bracing for an assault. My left hand trembled rapidly against my face, I could feel tears starting to form. Gently without an ounce of pressure I felt a hand take my shaking hand slowly.

Her touch was so soft as she grasped it with both her hands. I could feel her kiss it lovingly, her tender lips pecked it's entire surface. With her care it slowly stopped trembling, i opened my exposed eye to see her, "Alice?"

Still holding my hand she spoke, "I could never harm you Peter."

Alice repositioned herself to sit next to me, "just let me love you Peter and I'll chase the nightmares away."

She held my hand and placed her head on my shoulder as we sat on the floor of her room. Despite not saying a word I felt safe as if I were in heaven, I could feel my heart falling in love with Alice.
