Harry sat in front of the large mirror. They called it the mirror of Erised but he didn't care what it was called. He didn't care about sleeping or that he had to return to the Dursleys. All he cared about was seeing them. He never wanted to leave. He wanted to sit before this mirror for the rest of his life and think about how they had to have loved him. Think about how they had sacrificed for him. He just wanted to think.
He didn't notice the pristine sky blue door appear beside him and he did not notice when it opened or when his sister walked out of it. He did notice when she sat next to him but it was like a missing piece to a puzzle defining him. He closed his eyes in comfort and piece when she rested her head on his shoulder.
His sister was here with him. Now it was all complete.
"Professor McGonagall told you?"
"Yes. She says you are even refusing to practice quidditch."
"How can I play when they are here and only here."
"Only in that mirror." Hazel looked into the mirror and only saw herself laughing wildly with Michael. It almost made her cry and she understood her brother all the more.
"You do not see them do you?"
"No." She shook her head. "I see myself laughing with Michael."
Harry looked down at his sister in surprise. "You really like him don't you?"
"I guess I do."
"then I really need to meet him." He found himself pursing his lips. Laughing with someone he didn't know. He only saw Hazel laugh with him other than that she was forever stern.
Hazel smiled and adjusted her position and leaned her back on his, avoiding the cursed mirror.
"Do you want to know why I do not see them or you in the mirror?"
"Yes."
"Well…" She took out her wand and swirled it about and softly said the incantation. "Anima Projectura" a light blue liquid ripple of light flowed forward and as it dulled Harry looked up and saw their parents smiling down at them. "Because I have you, my missing piece, and I will forever have them.
"Our lives were vastly different and every time I think about it I get so angry I feel I will burst. But I remember them. I will always carry a piece of them in my heart so I can create this projection of them whenever I want. You can too. If you can bring them to the Mirror of Erised you can call them forth like this as well.
"I didn't tell you about it before because I didn't think you would be able to do it and I did not want to hurt you."
Harry smiled at this as he looked at his parents looking down at the two of them as if they were proud.
"This is actually them?"
"It would at least be a part of them but I think that their souls are actually trapped and cu5 off so it is more hollow than it should be." She sighed. "I wish you could come with me to Tan but I have already gotten an 'absolutely not'"
"From professor McGonagall or Professor Dumbledore?" He stood a reached a hand down to her. She looked at it for a moment then took it.
"Both." She stood and looked at their previous seats and then to the mirror. "Are we leaving?"
"No. I want you to teach me that incantation."
"OH okay. It is one of my favorite types… lazy." Harry said the word at the same time and they laughed loudly. Hermione visible relaxed out in the corridor as Ron at chocolate.
"I told you not to worry. Of course Hazel would get him up and moving again."
Hermione rolled her eyes. "So you weren't worried at all?"
"Only a little."
As Hermione and Ron walked down the hall, thinking to give Harry and Hazel a bit of alone time Professors Dumbledore and McGonagall stepped out of a wall opposite to where they had just stood. Professor McGonagall looked to the room with a pained expression.
"We have helped them quite a bit."
"We have not helped them at all Dumbledore."
"Your daughter will definitely sit on The Council of Magic for the Seven Dimensions. You had a hand in that."
Professor McGonagall smiled then pursed her lips. "Of course I mean other than that."
Dumbledore smiled and his expression dropped as her heard Hazel' bright laugh. "Come. Let's go before she sees me."
Professor McGonagall smiled broadly. "Careful Dumbledore someone might think you were afraid."
Professor Dumbledore cleared his throat. "Merely cautious."
Harry had not been home a week when Hazel called and spoke to their uncle. She informed him that Harry would spend Saturdays with her and she hoped he would not have any problems with that. When Harry heard his uncle explain this to his aunt his eyes went wide. They almost popped out of his head when his uncle looked to him and sternly told him to promptly be ready for these Saturday outings.
Not only did they spend every Saturday together they continued practicing with Hermione, Evervine, Marcel, and Ron in the ddreamscape.
On the last weekend before Hazel had to go back to Tan Dimension she, Harry, Hermione, and Ron met on Diagon Alley at Sugarplum sweet shop. It was actually Hazel's treat because she felt bad about leaving Harry with their aunt and uncle. Although she always smiled when he told the story of when she first met their aunt and uncle face to face, as he was now.
Even though Hermione and Ron had heard it so much they knew it by heart they still love to hear it again.
"… So Uncle Vernon opened the door frowning and Hazel said, very brightly, 'Hello Uncle Vernon it is me, Hazel, I came to pick up Harry.' You should have seen his face. I think he turned puce and called me in a shrill voice but oh so very politely."
Harry burst out laughing which mad Hazel laugh and caused a domino effect.
"Let's talk about something else Harry. I have to go back and you still have three weeks to go with Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon. I am getting depressed."
Hazel looked down at her bowl. She was eating a chocolate and strawberry mystical cream ice cream. It was good for the soul and helped in divination but she only really bought it because she liked the taste and texture of it.
"Don't do that you'll make me cry as well."
Ron rolled his eyes as he shoved some raspberry cauldron cake into his mouth and looked between Hazel and Hermione. "You two need to calm down. We see each other almost every night."
Hazel pouted for a moment and then shrugged. "So you met Gilderoy Lockhart? There is something odd about him."
Hermione perked up almost immediately and Ron frowned around his mouthful of caldron cake. "We did he is very nice, what do you think is odd."
"His books just seem…" Hazel shrugged. "… odd"
It was time to leave and Montague McGonagall Was smiling and waiting for Hazel.
"You are going straight to school?"
"Yes. I have somethings I need to do for divination class and I am on the tree sorting committee this year. I have to get it ready for the new students."
"Really. How interesting." Hermione was really interested in the sorting tree and how it worked she her answer was very enthusiastic.
They all stood and took turns hugging Hazel goodbye. Of course and Ron did their high five low five.
She smiled at Harry and whispered. "Remember if you need anything just call my name and I will be there to help you." Harry smiled and nodded. She had placed an incantation on him so that he could simply say her name and she would hear him no matter where she was.
Hermione and Harry were watching Hazel and her dad leave and Ron was looking at the table full of sweets and random things they bought.
"How does Hazel have so much money?"
"She has been working since she was six. She wanted to save enough to make sure that Harry did not need to rely on their aunt and uncle." Hermione just naturally answered without even looking at them.
"Working? Since six!? Doing what?"
Hermione looked to Harry with wife eyes. "Maybe you should ask her. It was witchy things nothing to do with the mundane muggles."
Harry nodded and planned to ask Hazel the next time he saw her.
Of course things did not go well for Harry at home. The very next day he had a problem. We all remember helpful Dobby. Well instead of calling Hazel foe such a trivial thing Harry decided to wait and see. We all remember what happened there but did you know that Hermione informed Hazel that Harry was no longer returning letters so on the day that the Weasleys came to rescue Harry Hazel had actually opened a dimensional door and gone to check on her brother herself.
And it is good to note that this was the first time she met George Weasley. Of course she met the rest of the Weasley clan but George would end up being a bit more important.
