The Origins of the Dungeons and the System: A Mythological Tale

The existence of the dungeons and the systems is a matter of much debate, their origins shrouded in myth and mystery. Most records point to a time long before the establishment of modern civilization, a time when the very fabric of the world was said to have been unstable and chaotic. Legends speak of a time when the skies themselves were cracked open, spilling forth the unknown, and the land was marked by strange, shifting rifts.

These rifts, known later as Dungeons, were considered by early scholars to be gateways to another realm, though no one could ever agree on what lay beyond. What is universally agreed upon is the arrival of the first hero, a figure now known only as the First Hunter. According to the oldest texts, this hero was not a king, nor a god, but a mere mortal who, through no act of will or training, became the first known recipient of what would later be called the System.

The System, as the tale goes, was a divine force, seemingly descending from the heavens—or perhaps the depths of the earth. It is said to have granted the First Hunter unimaginable abilities, bestowing upon him strength, knowledge, and most importantly, a means to navigate and control the chaotic dungeons that began to emerge across the lands.

As the myth goes, the First Hunter was a reluctant hero. He was a commoner, a simple farmer or blacksmith—accounts vary—who stumbled upon the first dungeon during a routine journey. He entered the dungeon, only to face terrifying monsters, shifting landscapes, and challenges that defied all logic. Yet, through some unknown grace of the System, he emerged victorious and more powerful than any mortal before him.

With time, he would enter more dungeons, each one testing him further, each one drawing him deeper into the mystery of the System. He would go on to gather companions, forming alliances with other adventurers, some of whom claimed to have gained the System's blessings as well. They became the first group of Hunters, adventurers capable of navigating the dungeons and wielding the System's power to defeat the monstrous creatures lurking within.

As the First Hunter's fame spread, so too did the rise of the System. It was said that the System was not limited to him alone. It began to choose others—those worthy of its power—who were then dubbed Hunters. These Hunters became revered figures, tasked with delving into dungeons, gathering treasures, and defending civilization from the monsters that poured out of these rifts.

However, the truth of these events remains clouded in myth. Was the System truly a divine force, or was it something far more sinister? Was the First Hunter an actual hero, or simply a man caught up in the swirling chaos of an age long past? In the centuries since, many artifacts have been discovered and preserved, housed in the Museum of Heroes. Within its hallowed walls, visitors can see costumes said to have belonged to the First Hunter, ancient weapons, and even relics of his companions.

But there are those who question the authenticity of these items. Some whisper that the entire history of the First Hunter has been manufactured by powerful ministers and other elites, intent on controlling the narrative of the System's origins. Conspiracy theories abound, with some claiming that the System was not a gift but a curse, one that has been used to manipulate the world for centuries. Are the items on display truly from the First Hunter's time, or are they elaborate forgeries, crafted to maintain a mythos that benefits the powers that be?

Still, despite these doubts, the Museum of Heroes remains a place of pilgrimage for many, as it offers the only tangible connection to the myth of the First Hunter. And although the true story of the System's origin remains elusive, its impact on the world is undeniable. Dungeons continue to appear, and the System continues to choose new Hunters. Whether this is the result of divine intervention, an ancient technology, or something far darker, no one knows. What remains certain is that the legend of the First Hunter, and the dungeons he helped unlock, continues to shape the world.
