Yolily was very responsible, walking her through the work process and helping her get familiar with the environment. Cheng Anya quickly got the hang of it, but by nightfall, she was so tired she could barely move.
After getting off work and coming home, she found Ningning in the kitchen wearing an apron, busy cooking. The sight of her little baby bustling around made Anya feel a tiny pang of guilt for not being there more—just a tiny bit though...
"Baby, I love you!" Anya put down a stack of reports, grabbed his chubby little cheeks, and gave him a big kiss. That soft skin was so kissable—unlike someone she knew, who was always cold and stiff. Seriously, did that person think he was a damn fridge?
"I love you too, Mommy!" Ningning replied gracefully, giving her a little kiss back. After such a long day, Anya was so moved she almost cried.
Oh, my son... Mommy loves you like a mouse loves rice.
"How was work today, Mommy?"
"Don't ask yet, let me eat something first," Anya said, then dug into the delicious dinner her son had made, stuffing her mouth like a whirlwind—she was starving!
"By the way, sweetie, what's with that expectant look on your face?"
"Expectant? That was me judging your terrible table manners, okay?"
"You little brat!"
"Mommy, do you like the work environment at S Corp?"
"Nope!"
"Why not?"
Anya clenched her fists, her inner fire blazing. "Because there's a green-eyed beast lurking around!"
Ningning: "..."
"Did you see anyone you know?"
"Anyone I know?" Anya tilted her head, thinking back over all the department heads she met. "Loads of strangers, no familiar faces."
"You've defeated me!"
"What's that look on your face, Ningning? Are you judging your own mother?"
"Mommy, you're such a fake lady! Ugh, let's just eat. I should've known better than to expect too much from you."
Anya: >_
Being dissed by her own son felt so damn awful.
