Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Abyss King

there was no coming back from this.

The Abyss King was unwilling and screeched at the Abyss to heal it, but nothing.

As for Draven, he had been cut in half, but even then he was still alive. His powerful vitality was just prolonging his suffering as he looked up at the Abyss.

He had been alive for 2,300 years and in that entire time, he had fought and killed plenty.

He had never had a friend, any family, any pets, no lover, no children no warmth. Since he could remember all there was, was war.

Since his earlier days, he had been fighting and now he was dying fighting? No one to mourn him, no one to miss him.

He thought he was fine with that, after all, that had been his life. But when death came to claim them both he just did not want to die yet before he had truly lived.

He could not speak anymore as his lungs were out of his body at the moment.

He glanced at the last intact eye on the Abyss King who was just as unwilling to die as he was. When their gazes met they had an understanding.

Death was scary. Alone they were destined to die, but maybe together they could live.

Draven extended a sliver of mana toward the Abyss King which it also extended. When their mana touched they signed a soul contract.

One making them equals as they had earned the respect of the other through combat. Once this contract was signed the remains of their bodies began to glow and drift to each other.

The remains of Draven which had been blessed by a world and the Abyss King who had ruled the alien Abyss for millions of years began to fuse. Though this was but a temporary thing once their crumbling bodies fused they gathered their power and cast one spell in Draven's mind.

The reincarnation spell, they fueled it with their very bodies which crumbled to dust. Their souls floated together and drew in this dust along with Draven's armor and sword.

The essence of the Abyss was dragged in by the spell as they were in the Abyss.

Once this was done the spell came to life opening a single small portal. The Spirit King had warned Draven that this spell was taboo and was only to be used for pure reasons.

Of course, both the Abyss King and Draven had no such intentions. Death was scary, breaking a taboo be damned.

Both their souls fused together temporarily as the portal was opened up and dragged both powerful souls in. Instantly Draven and the Abyss King used their soul magic to guard themselves and each other as they were currently floated in the river of souls.

The souls of the dead all were washed in this river, and the Spell was created to be able to guard one's soul against this fate. Of course, the spell was not supposed to be used by two souls so the spell lost some power.

Only through the gathered might of both mighty beings did they preserve their memories and talent, but not their strength. At the very least the Abyss King had saved its power to use the Abyss while Draven had saved his blessings.

Most of them anyway.

Thier souls drifted for a day before a portal of rebirth opened up and dragged both souls in. The Abyss King's alien soul could not be placed into a human or animal so it stayed as a soul around Draven while Draven's soul was directly reborn into a baby about to be born.

(Underworld)

In the Underworld, a white-haired woman was currently in the process of childbirth. Her face was strangely calm as she merely focused on the delivery.

Pain like this was honestly barely a bother as she had felt worse in the Devil Civil War.

She merely needed a few breaths to calm her mind as she focused on giving birth to her first child. For Devils, child birth was incredibly hard so each one was a treasure.

Especially when the child in question came from the Strongest Queen and The Devil King.

"Keep calm Lady Grayfia, I can see the head. "

The midwife stood between the legs of the woman as she waited for the birth. Grayfia focused as she pushed.

"I am calm. "

Sirzechs who stood at the side held his wife's hand as his daughter was about to be born.

"It's fine. She probibly can't even feel it.

"

Grafia felt angry at that as while this was not the worst pain she had ever felt it was not pleasant.

"Shut up. "

"Sorry. "

Her husband did not dare to speak anymore as the midwife who caught the baby. She cleaned the newly born baby with a small spell and removed all the blood in one go.

She even removed the umbilical cord just as easily.

"My lady, my Lord, it's a baby girl. "

She handed the newly born Draven in his new form as a girl to her breast. Her husband by her side smiled as he looked at his daughter before they were both surprised.

They expected the baby's hair to be white or red so why in the world did this baby have mostly pitch-black hair?

Sure, it had a few strands of both colors, but why was the main color so black it almost looked like an Abyss? They looked at each other with confusion.

"Grayfia, did your ancestors have black hair?"

He did not once question his wife's loyalty as she would never do that. She shook her head.

"No, I was going to ask you?"

Sirzechs thought about it.

"Well, my father's great, great, great, grandfather came from the Sitri clan, but can this many generations really produce this black hair? The Crimson hair of the Gremory is dominant so what happened?"

Suddenly the baby opened her eyes which shook her parents. The right eye was totally black, with not a single spec of white or a pupil.

Within was a writhing Abyss that made both parents stare at it and feel apprehension.
