Chapter 10 - Ruins 6

"Well done, you did good as a vanguard."

Outside the ruins, Cillian commended kururin for her efforts with a hoarse voice, his back still aching a bit.

Before them lay the spoils of their conquest, various artifacts of varying degree, mostly useless but among them are two divine relic The unknown locket and Canute's crown.

"So these are the artifacts that my lord desires. The organization shall benefit greatly with this."

kururin said, obviously trying to get some sort of lore or storyline from Cillian. He paid it no mind, and casually replied without giving her much.

He was a little weirded out from the way she was acting, he feels like kururin has gravely misunderstood something, she began calling him milord too.

"Indeed. You have completed the trial, and as a reward, I shall bestow you the authority of intent from the crown. Take it along with the rest of the artifacts, the locket is for me to keep."

------

Quest Complete!

You have successfully joined a faction: The Company.

New faction menu has been unlocked!

Rewards: King Canute's Crown and various minor artifacts.

------

With that, Cillian handed the items to kururin, he was very tempted to take the minor artifacts as they would fetch good money but he doesnt want to seem cheap, not to a new subordinate.

He also named his faction The Company, for the reason that he cant think of anything else without sounding too edgy.

Looking at kururin though, she didnt seem to mind the name, shes even giggling creepily again.

kururin was ecstatic she knows how much of a boon this quest has given her, right now she's probably the very first player to gain a divine relic.

Forums would go crazy if she ever did a post about this, she could also probably earn a quick buck for it if she decided to sell it.

She decided against it however as it would be better to use it for herself, she also dont want to incur the wrath of the mysterious gentleman.

"Now I will tell you your long term goal as a member of the company. You will be pulled into my domain for a gathering every full moon."

Hearing Cillian speak again, kururin stopped giggling and entered the state of pure focus, she nodded motioning Cillian to continue.

"You are free to do what you want. The divine relic will be used at your discretion and I will not be interfering, however you must recruit your kind and create your own organization separate from the company."

Cillian put a lot of thought on how to deal with the players, he does not want to control the players, if he even can, which obviously, he cant.

The players love their freedom so he doesn't want to interfere with that. In the end, he ended up with the current setup.

He will make his own small organization, and the members of his organization will make their own organization, its a pyramid of sorts and he's on the top.

Most importantly, he can keep his existence hidden from the prying eyes as only the main members know him, the system even helps him, adding in a clause for non disclosure.

With that in mind he walked forward to kururin, sending a terrifying gaze to her eyes before finally putting his gloved index finger to her mouth and saying,

"Finally. You must maintain absolute secrecy about my existence."

For some reason Cillian's acting skills are a hit or miss, as the moment he finishes his little show, he saw kururin shaking.

Seeing how terrified kururin was, he backed off and walked away, leaving kururin alone.

However, kururin was not scared at all. Not even a little bit.

Fuck fuck fuck fuck!

Blushing and breathing heavily, kururin is in a panic, she hasn't really noticed it thus far but, the puppet is actually kinda hot.

Those dead eyes, ruffled hair, a full gentlemanwear and with a cane!? Yes please!

One must not forget that kururin is a visual novel player, nobody knows what sorts of games kururin used to play...

Mission complete!!

Cillian is currently walking to the other side of the forest, where players would unlikely be.

Just one player is enough for now..

Cillian can invite more but decided not to, he first wanted to see what kururin will do and then decide from there.

For now Cillian decided to explore the country of Eisenmark and see what he can do, his organization already holds two authorities which is amazing by the way, if he sold one divine relic he would be set for life.

But divine relics are not everything in Ceres, there are multitude of classes, and right now he has a basic hunter class from when he registered to hunters guild, not that its a bad class but there's obviously better classes, like hidden or rare classes.

There are also multitude of different magic systems, the runic magic he used is just one of them, its a type of magic that was not supposed to appear this early but Cillian was able to use it because he has memorized all runes and their meanings.

Getting back, Cillian also wants to recruit natives into in his organization. He knows a lot of brilliant people in the game that are not necessarily tied to the main quests.

If he can find them and recruit them, it would be a huge boost to his organization, in addition it will be more beneficial to him to have diverse members with different skills and goals.

Rather than him just benefiting, he want it to be mutual for all involved party to gain something, after all trust and loyalty is not something easily built, he'd feel more inclined to trust someone if its an equivalent exchange.

In any case, Cillian's journey is just starting, and for now he decided to go to the port city of Aurich to the south and from that point go westward along the coastline to another port city called Emden where he plans to get the second piece he needs.
