Chapter 6 - Discussions and whispers

Author's Note:

I have a little obsession regarding the accuracy of data such as height, three dimensions, age and date.

Small differences between Mash (Cannon) and Mash (Earth-2126 or CCH Univers).

Mash (Cannon) was born on July 30, 2000.

Mash (Earth-2126) was born on July 30, 2002.

The Human Order Incineration Incident (Earth-2126) occurred on January 30, 2018, when Mash was 15 years and 6 months old.

TheHuman Order Revision Incident (Earth-2126) happened on December 31, 2019, when Mash was 17 years and 3 months old (if you count time often resolving Singularities, it adds an extra year to Mash. Time travel makes difficult to do the calculations).

In January 20, 2020, Mash and Bruce decided to take a gap year, starting to travel across the Multiverse, ending up in the city of Orario.

Chapter 6: Discussions and whispers

Plot: Hestia's newly formed Clan/Family are walking towards the Guild Hall.

But when Bell notices that Bruce is missing, Mash and Tamamo-no-Mae begin to argue with each other.

Then, someone makes a fool of themselves in the middle of the street...

XXX

Narrator's POV

A group consisting of a petite and busty goddess, a naive young adventurer, a knight girl with a large shield, a charming fox girl and an albino in divine armor are walking through the streets of the city of Orario.

The team party is walking to the Guild headquarters to complete the paperwork to make the new arrivals official adventurers.

Once they made it a quarter of the way, Bell noticed that the sixth member of the group was nowhere to be found.

'Where did Saver go?' Bell thinks, surprised not to see his captain, clad in black dragon-themed armor.

A moment ago, he stood in the center of their group and walks in silence, letting the girls, Mash, and Tamamo-no-Mae "talk" to each other.

The albino boy looks left and right, looking for Bruce, aka Saver.

"Girls and Karna, have you seen Saver, I don't see him anywhere, did he go to visit a stall by any chance?" Bell asks, looking for a hypothesis to explain Saver's disappearance.

Mash and Tamamo-no-Mae, the two girls, hearing Bell's words, stopped "talking" to each other, as if a switch had been flipped.

" Senpai, why can't you ever sit still?" Mash mutters, lowering her head, sounding like a secretary complaining about her boss's bad habits.

'At least you could get me involved, I hate being on the sidelines.' Mash mentally adds another line.

"Goshujin-Sama, I'm so close to cursing Luz for introducing you to Batman!" Tamamo-no-Mae exclaims loudly, metaphorically catching fire.

These two girls have complementary opposite attitudes, one is melancholic and silent, the other is choleric and noisy.

"Should we be worried?" Hestia asks, turning to Karna for a reassuring answer.

The Hindu Demigod seems to be the only one with a head on his shoulders at the moment.

"It's nothing unusual." Karna replies with a calm tone and an unperturbed expression.

Inevitably Karna ended up witnessing many of the quirks of his Master and those close to him.

"There is nothing for us to worry about, Hestia." Tamamo-no-Mae said, misreading the argument between Hestia and Karna.

The foxgirl instead of understanding that Hestia is worried about her and Mash's attitude, believes that she is worried about Saver.

Mash let out a small sigh before explaining.

"My Senpai has the bad habit of disappearing and returning as soon as you least expect it, sometimes it's a few hours, elsewhere it's days or weeks or even months." Mash said, openly criticizing Bruce for being a free spirit.

"Fortunately, since I've known him, I've almost always been involved in his adventures, unfortunately every now and then I don't see him for a couple of days." Mash said, looking at the upside of never being ruled out long-term, which is something few people can say.

Even Bruce's own family may not see him for a long time, especially when he goes on one of his adventures overseas or into another dimension.

"Anyway you slice it, that's a pretty annoying trait, especially in a man." Hestia comments, sure that she couldn't live if Bell were to leave without saying goodbye and stay away for a long time.

"You have no idea, Hestia." Tamamo-no-Mae exclaims loudly, sounding like a truly exasperated wife.

"I love him with all my heart, but there are many moments when I want to put a leash on him and not let go." Tamamo-no-Mae said with a serious tone.

Hearing these words, an image appeared in Hestia's head of a small Bell with dog ears and tail who was held by her side by a leash.

'What am I thinking!' She mentally shouts Hestia with a red face, shaking her head to forget this fantasy.

"Tamamo-no-Mae this is rather disrespectful. Senpai can turn into a Hasky dog, but that doesn't allow you to come up with such ridiculous and outrageous ideas." Mash states in a chastising voice, against foxgirl's proposal.

Although she would never admit it, Mash had a thought vaguely similar to that of Hestia, obviously her target is not Bell, but her Senpai.

In the background, the young adventurer approaches the Hindu Demigod to ask a question in a low voice: "What did Mash mean, about turning into a dog?"

"Magic can do many things, transforming into animals is an obtainable ability, even if the process is particularly complex." Karna said with his usual unchanged expression.

"For a reason I don't know, the Master teaches this skill to all his assistants and students, considering it a sort of rite of passage for intermediate level studies." Karna decided to add some extra information about Saver's training methods.

As Bell digests this information, the Knight Maiden and the Fox Priestess continue to argue.

"Sweet and innocent girl, we understand that you are only a female friend, an intimate friend, but still a friend." Tamamo-no-Mae said with a mischievous expression, underlining the word female friend.

The foxgirl places her hands on her hips and lifts her chest, striking a pose of confidence.

"My Goshujin-Sama sees me and treats me like a woman." Tamamo-no-Mae exclaims, with a victorious smile, as her tail moves left and right.

The fox Priestess isn't putting it, she's pointing out a fact that's pretty obvious to all you know about Bruce.

The Last Master of Chaldea does not treat Tamamo-no-Mae and Mash the same, seeing them through different eyes.

The first is a woman to be loved in a romantic way, the second is a girl to be loved in a platonic way.

Tamamo-no-Mae, aka Caster or Irregular Caster, met Bruce when he was 15, participating in the Apocryphal Holy Grail War, Bruce's third Holy Grail-focused conflict.

Tamamo-no-Mae's marriage isn't real, but it's not entirely fake either.

The foxgirl has lived together with Bruce for years, participating in all aspects of Bruce's daily life and magical life, receiving attentions of a romantic and carnal nature that Mash can only imagine.

"Mash, in the eyes of my Goshujin-Sama, you will be one of his only three female friends in the world, a prestigious position that opens many doors for you, but closes just as many." Tamamo-no-Mae said, completely confident in her words .

Once again the fox Priestess is speaking the truth.

Mash, aka Shielder, met Bruce when he was 19, their relationship a farce of the usual Master-Servant relationship.

In almost all cases, Servants are stronger than their Master and occupy the role of protector, even a mentor figure if there is a good compatibility between them.

Almost all Masters limit themselves to acting as support for their Servants through their magic, tactical skills, intellectual knowledge... and emotional support for the Servants... more loving and intimate with their Masters.

But Bruce and Mash's relationship isn't anything like the usual norm.

An overly competent Master and a Servant (Demi-Servant), who is inexperienced in battle and with the outside world.

Bruce acted like an authentic Senpai towards Mash, some would say that Bruce behaves in a brotherly manner towards Mash.

In the last two years (four years if you count the time often during their adventures under the flag of Chaldea), Mash has become very close to her Senpai and vice versa.

This is something that made the girl born and raised in Chaldea very happy, being able to find a close friend in her Master.

They almost always eat all meals together, talk about a huge number of subjects of mutual interest, play together, travel together, solve mysteries and murder cases, commit legally questionable actions, etc.

In fact, there have been many cases in which Mash has been the victim of a fit of jealousy on the part of Bruce's adopted little sisters and brothers or acquaintances.

The worst incident was caused by Bruce's twin sister, Adeline, who felt threatened by Mash... long story short, Los Angeles risked ending up as a zombie city.

Unfortunately, although Mash was successful in resolving and dealing with all of Bruce's extended family's bouts of jealousy or feelings of threat.

There are some witches and Servants who are not so happy about the close Senpai-Kohai relationship between them.

Tamamo-no-Mae can be considered Mash's main source of conflict or headache, even though there are times when they don't argue. But today is not one of their good days.

"And what are you implying by this?" Mash asks, raising an eyebrow, not understanding what Tamamo-no-Mae is trying to point out.

"Do you think I care more about you than me? You know that Senpai has no favorites... in terms of emotional affection." Mash declares, knowing that the Last Master of Chaldea has no favorites list in his heart or hearts.

If it were about fighting or carrying out a specific type of task for war purposes, 9 times out of 10, the Last Master of Chaldea would have chosen: Karna or Medea or Lancelot.

They are some of his most used Servants (and compatible with his personality and fighting style).

"You're right, Mash." The fox Priestess comments, crossing her arms and nodding her head.

Her expression and aura of the pink-haired beauty with orange fox ears are completely different from those just before.

"Did they stop arguing so suddenly?" Bell murmurs, surprised by this sudden change in Caster's mood.

"It's hard to say, Caster is a complex woman." Karna said, using simple words to describe the Kitsune.

'Will all the Heroic Spirits who come be complicated people?' Hestia thinks, starting to appreciate Bell's simple nature even more.

A young boy who wears his heart on his sleeve is certainly easier to understand than a powerful Fox Priestess.

"Sometimes I forget that we are on different, but similar paths.

I'm a woman used to defending my place as a future wife from that Roman Diva (Nero), the Stripper Doll (Altera) and that Crossdressing Idiot (Astolfo)." Tamamo-no-Mae said, mentioning her three biggest rivals.

"Lancer, who is she talking about?" Bell asks, a little curious about the three strange characters Foxgirl mentions.

"A Servant you will definitely meet in the future." Karna said, certain that these three Servants would take three of the fifteen slots allocated by the Daedalus Cube.

" You, Mash, are a little girl who just wants to be flattered and show her a little affection, like a nice pat on the head like a pet.

Your greatest wish is probably to be called Onee-Chan." Tamamo-no-Mae comments, changing her view of Mash from a serious threat to a minimal threat.

Mash says nothing, but blushes like a chili pepper, Tamamo-no-Mae's suggestion having set the Shield Maiden's imagination in motion.

"I want a ring, a wedding dress, a house in the countryside in Japan, seven or nine children and to make love every night with my Goshujin-Sama." Tamamo-no-Mae said in a dreamy tone, as she hugs herself, fantasizing about an ideal future.

"Seven or nine children!" Bell exclaims with her mouth wide open, shocked by the large number of children she wants to have Tamamo-no-Mae.

"All in all it seems like a good dream to have." Hestia comments, approving of Tamamo-no-Mae's wish, probably because Hestia would want something like that.

"I will consider your wishes, but I do not promise to carry them out." Comments on a certain person dressed in black dragon-themed armor, with a ferret-like animal sitting around his neck as if it were a scarf.

In the same way that Bruce disappeared, he appeared next to Karna. Clearly, being a sorcerer, a Batman fan, and knowing Assassin Servants has its advantages.

"Goshujin-Sama!" Tamamo-no-Mae exclaims with joy, rushing to cling to the arm of her lover.

" Senpai, where have you been?" Mash questions, putting his strange thoughts aside in favor of his duties as a "knight."

"I was on top of a nearby roof." Saver replies, not minding the hint of him holding onto her arm tightly and resting her head on his shoulder.

"And what were you doing?" Bell asks, curious as to the reason for Saver's sudden disappearance.

"I was talking to someone looking down on me." Bruce said, lifting his head towards the clouds.

At that precise moment, a certain blue-eyed female crow flew overhead.

"Understood, you were talking to Carmen face to face. She should have finished mapping the city." Mash murmurs, feeling calmer than before.

The Last Master of Chaldea did not respond, his good eye following his raven flying to the top of the Tower that rules the entire city.

" Let's go to the Guild, we have to do the bureaucratic parts to become certified adventurers.

After that we will make several purchases and investments." Bruce declares in a serious voice, having a plan and having goals to achieve for today.

"A day of shopping with my Goshujin-Sama, right after I arrived, I'm such a lucky woman." She exclaims Tamamo-no-Mae suddenly much happier, tightening her grip around Bruce's arm.

"Purchases and investments!" She shouts at Hestia in a scary voice, as if she has seen a Minotaur or Bell getting married to another woman (Hestia's worst nightmare).

"Saver, I'm sorry to say this, but we don't have the money to do things like that." Hestia said, hanging her head, not even being able to afford a decent dinner for two, much less go shopping and other stuff.

"Little goddess, you might not be able to afford shoes or a real dress." Bruce said, not holding back his sharp tongue.

The Last Master of Chaldea is an outspoken and bold person who is not afraid to speak his mind.

"But I can afford to buy a city, set it on fire and rebuild it as I please." Bruce said in a serious tone, sounding a bit like Gilgamesh or Tony Stark.

"You're not exaggerating, no one except a king of a prosperous kingdom can do something like that." Bell said, not believing anyone could do something like that except the richest man in the world.

" Bell, Hestia, you shouldn't underestimate my Senpai, if he says he can do it then so is it." Mash said, having unwavering trust and faith in his Senpai.

"So what do you want to do?" Hestia questions with some hesitation in her voice, trembling a little at the idea that a wealthy person would spend a large sum of money on her.

" First of all, I want to find another night's accommodation.

I refuse to let Mash and Tama-chan be forced to sleep in the basement of a decrepit church, they deserve only the best." Bruce exclaims with a voice at the same time cold as steel, as if it were the word of a king or a decree divine.

The two girls couldn't help but blush and feel a warm feeling inside them.

' Senpai/Goshujin-Sama loves me.' Shielder and Caster have more or less the same thought in mind.

"Ideally, I would buy a Manor for the Clan's future activities, a traditional Japanese-style house for Caster, a modern attic for Mash, and a large workshop for myself." Bruce said lightly, as if he were planning his shopping at the supermarket.

Hestia and Bell are about to suffer from dizziness upon hearing these words.

"But due to lack of time or notice, I'm happy to find three apartments." Bruce said in a slightly dejected tone, not being able to buy what he wants right away.

"Three apartments!" Hestia and Bell cry out at the same time, having trouble accepting the new reality around them.

"An apartment for you and Bell, so you two can continue your routine, without worrying about us invading your privacy." Bruce said, pointing at the pair of Poor Goddess and naive Young Adventurer, not wanting to separate them or meddle in their business.

Hestia's brain began to imagine an entire routine of a young couple in love in their intimate and above all high-quality love nest.

"A second apartment just for Mash and a third apartment for me and my Servants, we are used to sharing living space." Bruce continues to talk about his signing plans.

"Goshujin-Sama, do you want to buy an apartment just for the two of us!" She exclaims Tamamo-no-Mae loudly, so loudly that many people stop from their chores and turn towards them.

"Karna will be there too, but knowing him he'll be standing guard outside or something." Bruce mutters, easily able to imagine Karna playing the role of invisible guard dog.

"Goshujin-Sama, come out of that armor so I can kiss you and show how much I love you!" Shout out Tamamo-no-Mae as you go into full power love mode.

The fox Priestess hugs her Goshujin-Sama with all the strength of her body and tries to tear off the helmet to kiss him.

Even Hestia isn't that sane right now.

The poor goddess got down on her knees and hugged Bruce around the waist.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you." Hestia said gratefully, believing that Bruce's gift could help her become more intimate with Bell.

Hestia made a fool of herself in the middle of the street, all the people passing by the area couldn't help but look at the strange sight and whisper among themselves.

" Bell, if you want to become a protagonist and have a harem, first of all you have to learn to deal with the antics of the women in your life !" Bruce said in an irritated voice, having no problem with Tamamo-no-Mae, but with Hestia it's a different story.

The young adventurer remains still and frozen like a statue or a rabbit in front of the headlights of a car.

"Come here and take care of your busty loli goddess!" Bruce states, raising his voice in an authoritative manner.

Bell, as if he had woken up, suddenly moves to separate Hestia from Bruce.

Mash also decides to help her Senpai calm down his self-proclaimed second wife.
