Chapter 2 - FTNSM [2]

"Super Polymerization!"

Anyone who has watched Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, or played the card game, has probably heard of this card.

It is even more well-known in certain other groups, way more than the "Three Egyptian Gods. " It symbolizes the strongest card in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX world, specifically the "strongest Fusion card."

'Is this real?'

...Hikaru shuddered suddenly.

Super Polymerization was on an entirely different level originally.

Not only was it powerful enough in dueling, but it could even fuse twelve different dimensions together, forcibly merging a human with a spirit into one.

It was undeniably the strongest card, and compared to Super Polymerization, the "Three Sacred Beasts" of the same universe seemed insignificant.

He quickly found his duel disk and tried placing Super Polymerization in the spell/trap zone to test it.

And...

"It worked!"

He swallowed nervously, looked at the table nearby, and then at the objects on it.

"This..."

After hesitating for a moment, he muttered, "Fuse this pencil and eraser?"

He felt something draining from him, and suddenly, he felt cold all over his body. It felt like the world was spinning, as his head became dizzy.

In a panic, he grabbed a full cup of water and drank it up, taking a moment to recover.

When he looked back at the table, he saw that the pencil and eraser, which were originally separate, had "fused" together into a 2B pencil with an eraser attached to it.

"It's real!!"

Hikaru quickly slapped his own head.

A stream of information suddenly flooded into his mind.

This Super Polymerization card got to be the sole reason he had come into this world!

'A real Super Polymerization!'

Super Polymerization was the pinnacle of Fusion, so when he crossed over, did it "fuse" his own cards into Fusion cards?

As expected of Super Polymerization.

Although fusing something as simple as a pencil made him dizzy and there was a huge gap between this and the world-changing fusion in the original, who would complain about having such a powerful tool in their hands?

This was one of the greatest powers" in the entire Yu-Gi-Oh! world!

After a moment of excitement, he ate something to regain his lost strength of the ⌈pencil and eraser⌋ superfusion. When he took some time to calm down, the excitement in his heart was replaced by thoughts about this world.

Although a box full of "Fusion" cards was truly cool... There were only Spell and Trap cards, no Monsters. How could he even Fusion Summon with those?

No matter how strong the Fusion spells were, like Red-Eyes Fusion and Fusion Destiny, they were useless in his hands right now.

Downstairs, the Fusion enthusiasts were still promoting Fusion, and they had even started a performance duel.

This made Hikaru, who had only just recovered, feel a headache again.

He almost forgot about these people.

This world seemed to be combined with several bizarre aspects of different worlds, with the Duel Academy having those fanatic students prioritizing Fusion above all else. Although the original owner wasn't one of these fanatical students, they were still someone who pursued Fusion.

If this trend continues, one day they will turn into the "Diehard Gang," running wild through dimensions like Xyz, Synchro, and others with some Ancient Gear decks.

But this isn't A5. What if the Xyz dimension is actually Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal? With these Fusion-obsessed people who have nothing else, could they really compete against the trio of the Master, Shark, and Kaito?

If they mess up the invasion and end up attracting some top-tier duelists from other worlds, like a thousand-year overlord or something, it'll be hilarious.

The final boss of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX was already one of the most embarrassing bosses in history, who somehow almost destroyed the world. If it were someone like a thousand-year overlord, it would make duelists from other worlds laugh themselves to death.

In short, from this perspective, the danger level of this world is far higher than in the original. He can't afford to get complacent just because he has "Super Polymerization."

This is a world that's never really at peace.

He glanced at the Fusion fanatics downstairs and suddenly had a flash of inspiration, coming up with a great idea.

Fusion is the most noble summoning method?

Yes, exactly, bro, you're absolutely right!

Fusion Summon is indeed the noblest method!

He began to sift through the cards left by the original owner, trying to put together a deck that could be used for now.

Although the original owner's deck was centered around Fusion, in reality, it looked like a pile of useless cards. In order to Fusion Summon a monster, it was basically all up to fate and the mercy of the dealer.

Aside from the bank account balance issue, Hikaru believed the reason the original owner assembled such an abstract deck was simple—he simply didn't understand Fusion!

Don't think Fusion is just a spell, two monsters, slap them together, and that's it.

It's not that simple!

There's a classic saying among Yu-Gi-Oh! players: "Fusion is the noblest summoning method!"

Similar to that is the phrase about Synchro summoning destroying worlds.

Although calling Fusion the noblest summoning method is somewhat of a joke, you can't deny that, no matter the era, Fusion has a major competitive power in mainstream decks, moreover many "origins" cards have appeared within Fusion decks.

So, joining the Fusion Academy and taking on the identity of a Fusion-type duelist, Hikaru didn't mind at all.

And, the main reason Fusion is considered the most noble summoning method is because it involves so much "fancy work!"

Fusion from the deck, Fusion from the graveyard, Dimensional Fusion, Fusion from the hand or graveyard back to the deck, fusion with the opponents' stuff directly on the field, and so on—Fusion monsters have countless summoning methods.

This is where the "nobility" of Fusion Summon lies.

"It's time to show them what Fusion truly is."

He came up with a great idea.

Every "Fusion Fanatic" duelist could receive a set of "Ancient Gear" decks.

Of course, this wouldn't be a top-tier Ancient Gear deck, but rather a simplified, generic deck—a deck designed for beginners to learn with.

This deck would be useless for "experts" and "top students."

But for someone like him, whose deck is currently all spell and trap cards, temporarily using an Ancient Gear deck isn't a bad option.

As for whether joining the extreme Fusionist student faction would limit him...

Laughable.

A series of thoughts flashed through Hikaru's mind.

The duelists of the Fusion Fanatic faction are primarily students who follow Professor "Leo Akaba," and he is dedicated to ensuring that all duelists from other dimensions only use Fusion Summons. He is a bona fide villain, undoubtedly a top-tier villain in A5, born to be an antagonist.

At first glance, he may seem crazy, but in fact, he is far more reasonable compared to the other ones in A5, because right now, he doesn't indiscriminately turn everyone into cards.

Besides, Hikaru is even crazier than them, considering his deck only has "Fusion" spell and trap cards!

There's never been a rule that you can only be a lackey forever—Hikaru's thought was simple.

If Professor "Leo Akaba" can be the faction leader, why can't he?

"I must immediately enlist to join the Fusion army!"
