Sabrina stared at the box she held with a smile as she thanked the salesgirl.
"Thank you."
The salesgirl in her early thirties smiled in response, "You're welcome, I wish you all the best, Miss Wonders, or should I say, Mrs Kennedy?."
Sabrina laughed at her tease.
Tomorrow, she would be Mrs Kennedy. She would be getting married to her love and fiancé, Jason Kennedy.
Her smile couldn't help but grow wider at the thought.
She bid her goodbye to the woman and took her leave.
As she was trying to flag down a taxi, she felt a vibration in her pocket. Pulling her phone out, she saw it was her best friend, Windy calling.
She picked it straightaway .
"Hey babe."
"Sabrina, have you gone to check the gown?"
Windy pushed all pleasantries aside as she questioned her.
"No,I'm not going to check the gown.Jason said he will."
"Are you kidding?Tomorrow is your wedding day and it's quarter after six. Do you think Jason will have chance? And by the way why the change of plan? I thought it was you and Jason that were supposed to go meet the tailor together?."
Sabrina chuckled at her best friend's outburst.
"Chill girl. He said he's busy."
"Busy? What if he's busy? Can't he skip the work for only a few hours to accompany you?" The displeasure was vivid in Windy's voice.
Sabrina wondered about that too. Earlier, both of them had planned to collect the wedding rings and check out the wedding costumes together, but all of a sudden, he sent his assistant, Bobby, to inform her that he was very busy and couldn't accompany her to do anything and told her to only collect the rings and leave the dress, since he'd be getting it by himself on his way from the company.
She flagged down a taxi, "Windy, don't get upset. He's usually scheduled up."
"Has he tried reaching you?" Windy asked.
She shook her head as though she could see her, "No."
"Anyways, don't hope on Jason. Go get that dress yourself."
"Okay."
"Yeah. Will get back to you later." Windy hung up.
Sabrina told the driver the location and got in. In less than fifteen minutes, she reached the Bridal boutique.
As she strolled into the dress shop, she saw Delilah, the designer who was responsible for her dress.
She smiled at her, but Delilah didn't reciprocate. Her face was tense.
Sabrina could tell from a glance that soomethkng was wrong.
"What happened?"
"No, nothing! It's…it's just—."
A moan swallowed the rest of her words.
Sabrina glanced at the room the moan was heard from.
She made to check but was stopped by Delilah, " Don't go in there, Sabrina."
Sabrina pushed her aside with a questioning look, "Why?."
"Well—." She didn't bother listening to Delilah as she marched towards the door and —
"Damn, harder, harder, my gracious." Came Gina's muffled voice through the door facing her. Sabrina blinked, transfixed.
What could her stepsister be doing here, inside? With who?
"Baby, Lord, you're so tight."
Then she heard the voice she least expected to hear.
She stumbled back. Jason Kennedy. It couldn't be. It wouldn't be. Jason wouldn't cheat on her. He couldn't.
With trembling hands, she pushed the door open and there was her step sister, being bent over the desk and ravaged by her soon-to-be husband.
Gina was in her wedding dress.
The sudden interrupt caused the two to disengage, and they both stared at Sabrina, their faces pale.
It was Gina who later secretly revealed a cunning smile when she realised it was none other than Sabrina.
"Sabrina, w-what are you doing here? I told you not to get the dress, didn't I?."
Jason buttoned up his trouser hastily.
Sabrina folded her arms, trying not to let her voice quiver.
"So I would have missed this wonderful show?."
Gina tried to speak up, " it's not what you think, Sabrina—."
"Shut up." She coldly silenced Gina, who kept a wronged face.
Sabrina nearly rolled her eyes at the sight of her pitiful facade.
Wasn't she the one moaning just now? Why was she trying to pretend like a saint now?
Jason hugged Gina," Sabrina, don't be rude."
She laughed, "Rude you say? That I told my sis to shut up because she wants to change the fact that you were fucking her in my wedding dress is considered rude?."
Jason kept mute at what she said, and she sneered at that, her tears threatening to spill from her eyes. "What, you don't know what to say? You're shameless Jason, do you know that? Screwing my stepsister behind my back, you're really despicable!."
"Sabrina, please don't get mad at Jason. I'm the one at fault, I just love him so much I acted foolishly." Gina said.
Sabrina took closer steps towards her, "Ain't you feeling ashamed to open your mouth to say you love your sister's man?."
Gina pulled her face away from hers, a bit scared of the steely look on her face.
"Since you couldn't hold yourself because you love him so much, then perhaps you could receive the slap meant for him."
Her face switches to that of terror as Sabrina raised her hand to slap her, however, Jason held her arm and pulled her away from Gina.
"Are you crazy Sabrina?." He thundered.
Sabrina stared at him with chills in her emerald eyes, "Ofcourse I'm crazy, or I wouldn't have fallen in love with a scum like you."
Jason's face darkened at her words, " Watch your mouth, Sabrina."
She smirked taking closer steps towards him, "And if I don't? ." She threatened.
From the corner of her eyes, she could easily catch a glimpse of Gina's victorious smile.
Right from their childhood; right from when they were kids, Gina had always wanted what she loved— and Jason was no exception.
Whether she truly likes him or just wanted the Mrs Kennedy title due to the fact that the Kennedys were filthy rich, she didn't know.
