Legends say that a thousand years ago, the Age of Darkness and Chaos reached its peak. Corrupted beings and Engkanto—supernatural entities—were the primary cause of the mass death of thousands of innocent souls, driving humanity to the edge of extinction. Some fought back, but their resistance was not enough.
In response, a neutral faction of Engkanto known as the Agma—mystics renowned for their powerful soul magic but cursed with fragile bodies—rebel against their own kind. In a bold act of defiance, they allied with humanity's greatest warriors in a desperate attempt to restore balance to the mortal world. But even united, their numbers were too few to withstand the overwhelming forces of both factions.
With time running out, the Agma proposed a final, desperate solution. They would craft an artifact capable of turning the tide. To do so, they cast one of their most sacred soul spells, calling upon the spirits of fallen heroes who had given their lives in battle. Yet even that power fell short. In an ultimate act of sacrifice, several Agma offered their own souls, binding them to the spell to complete the artifact.
From the use of the said artifact, a new breed of warrior was born—beings forged from the union of human courage and Agma essence. These hybrids, known as Engkata, inherited the Agma's supernatural abilities while retaining the strength and resilience of humanity. With their arrival, the tides of war shifted. The Engkata, alongside their allies, drove back the darkness and restored balance to the realm.
To ensure peace would last, the Engkata established a secretive order known as Agimatayo. Tasked with guarding the equilibrium between worlds, they now stand as protectors of all realms—ready to strike down any force that dares threaten the fragile harmony bought with blood and sacrifice.
