Chapter 4 - Chapter 4.

Eyeing Ellis as he gathered up his things as if he were a demon, flipping through something in a tattered old book, he recognized the book with a sharp eye ...

"The Key to the Abyss?Where did you get that book?"Nyx rushed over with a flash and tsked incredulously.

"I didn't expect you to recognize the book."Ellis sarcastically raised his head without looking up, "It's the original, we Archmagi don't use copies."

Nyx looked up proudly, "That's not true, I'm a demon royal of the noblest bloodline, can I not recognize my grandfather's notes?Let me tell you, human, this notebook is not an isolated copy, I also have a copy with my grandfather's annotations on it, isn't it just a textbook?Spoken like someone who doesn't have one."

Nyx's eyes, it was Ellis's turn to look subtle, he first engaged in an internal struggle, analyzing the degree of credibility of the demon's utterance of these words, and after further thought, his eyes moved back and forth between the ancient book and Nyx, his expression shifted from contemplation, to reasoning, to logical analysis, to serious study, and finally seemed to make some kind of determination, and finally, in the midst of Nyx's eager gaze that was full of anticipation and pride, he finally said:"Oh."

Geez, Abyssal Customer Service, I'm going to sue this human!

Nyx was still holding a bit of a demon royal family's stance, but Ellis' "Oh" directly made him fall off the rock in anger.

He stared at Ellis with eyes like he was looking at an emotionless research machine, and his entire face was filled with the expression, "Human, are you hopeless?".

"You just 'oh'?"Nyx repeated incredulously, his voice rising a little, even with a little scratchy trill.

Ellis nodded calmly, "Uh-huh."

Nyx felt like his demonic dignity had been severely insulted.

He narrowed his eyes, his blood-colored pupils carrying obvious displeasure, and then - with a violent leap - he jumped right onto Ellis's desk, bracing his hands on it and approaching him with malice in his heart.

"Human."Nyx's voice held a dangerous smirk, his tail wagging in the air as he stared at Ellis with haunted eyes, "Did you not realize that what I just told you was a shocking thing?"

Ellis tilted his head slightly, avoiding the demon's face as it pressed too close, and said faintly, "I realize that."

Nyx: "..."

You can still be so calm when you realize it?I'll sue!

"You mean, 'oh' sums it all up?"Nyx lifted his hand to prop up his chin, a distinctly unsympathetic look in his eyes, "Are you misunderstanding the identity of 'Lucifer's grandson' in some way?"

Ellis remained calm as usual, even in the mood to flip through the ancient book again, "There is no misunderstanding."

Nyx took a deep breath, then slammed the table, his eyes flashed, and the madness under his eyes finally bubbled up.

"Fine."He grinned, revealing his pointed canines, "Since you think 'oh' is enough, let's do it another way-"

With a flick of his tail, he wrapped it directly around Ellis's waist, then jerked his wings up, yanking the man straight up out of his chair and dragging him into mid-air.

Ellis: "..."

Ellis looked down at his suspended position, then at Nyx's face with "Human you must give me some reaction" written all over it, his tone still calm and unruffled, "What are you doing?"

"Creating a little atmosphere."Nyx grinned nastily, bringing up a gust of wind with the flap of his feathers, "If you're fine with going 'oh' at identity, shouldn't you at least have some other kind of reaction to this situation?"

Ellis: "..."

This guy is absolutely insane.

But Ellis remained as calm as a windblown statue, even adjusting his posture in mid-air to make himself more comfortable, "If you want me to be scared, then you can give up on that idea."

Nyx blinked, the smile deepening at the corners of his mouth, "Then I'll just have to play it differently."
