Chapter 8 - Fight (1)

After wandering for who knows how long, he finally saw something interesting.

Two groups of beasts stood face to face, snarling and flapping their claws on the ground. They seemed to be on the verge of war with each other.

The two groups looked quite similar. One of them was composed of raccoons, or rather, Razorfangs; the other group, though showing similar shapes, was different.

First of all, the color. While for the Razorfangs the fur color was gray, for these other creatures the color was greenish. They looked vaguely venomous and had larger claws than their Razorfang counterparts.

They were also equal in numbers. On the Razorfang side there were 10, all at rank E, albeit with different levels. Only one was at the apex.

On the other side there were always 10 members, all at rank E. However, there seemed to be one creature with very similar power to the leader, which put their team ahead.

Their strengths were opposites, one focused on agility and the use of claws to poison the enemy, while the other relied more on their larger physique to crush the opponent with bites.

"How come their abilities sound so familiar?"

"They are the same as Drae'mon's, but his are definitely more powerful, not at all comparable. I used the carcass of a Razorfang, I'm sure, even the system states so."

"So how is it possible that it also has an Ailurus-like ability?"

This question left the boy speechless, who could only sigh in incomprehension. Too many things were happening around him, and fatigue was beginning to set in. He had not rested at all since he had been here, and this was greatly affecting his mental state.

As he pondered patiently, hiding in a bush, the two groups, tired of the constant growling, decided to get down to business.

The Ailurus attacked first, using their speed to sink their claws into the bodies of the Razorfang, who, not at all intimidated, sank their fangs into the lively bodies of the beasts.

The battlefield was a mess; there was no order at all.

Jeremy wanted to jump into the fray, but decided to wait a little longer, taking advantage of the chaos to kill everyone and make a massacre of exp.

But of course his plans never went according to plan.

Just when he thought he was starting his attack, another group of monsters took hold.

Coordinating with each other, they surrounded the two groups and attacked from a distance using strange magical attacks.

The Razorfang and Ailurus, not expecting this attack, panicked, but almost at the same time they recovered. They knew the newcomers. They were a very devious group, always acting this way.

They seemed smarter.

More coordinated.

Because of their distance advantage, they used a tactic that Jeremy knew, kiting. It consisted of keeping the enemy at a safe distance while inflicting constant damage. By doing so they avoided a direct confrontation, partly because they were weak at close range.

The newcomers were a group of 15 members. Among them were Rank Fs, as well as two Rank Es at the apex. Their underhand tactics seemed to work, given their higher ranks and numbers.

Putorius

Rank E, LP

Lv15 (max)

HP: 3100

MP: 6300

Physical: 8

Agility: 16

Intelligence: 24

Endurance: 8

Skill: Airshoot

---

These new players looked like ferrets, only bigger. They also stood on two legs when they had to throw their skill, which was an air shot coming out of their hands.

When they ran they would get back on all fours waiting to get to a safe distance before firing another shot.

Their HP was low, but they compensated for this with their magical power and numbers.

The battle quickly became chaotic. The first two groups seemed to have implemented a policy of truce, not attacking each other so they could pursue their new enemy.

"okay I can't wait any longer, they are going to die, if I don't act now it will be too late."

Of course, he had no intention of participating directly. With their numbers, if the enemies charged at him he would be crushed to death, to say the least. He intended to keep his distance and send his ally on the attack.

Drae'mon's fighting ability was a world of difference from Jeremy's. Just think that in their first battle, while Jeremy had lost half his HP in facing only three beasts, Drae'mon, facing as many as ten beasts including one of Rank E, did not take a single damage.

His combat skills spoke for themselves.

Within a single minute of the Putorius' arrival, the battle, already chaotic before, became even more confused.

The forest was filled with noise. The Putorius were being chased left and right, but in spite of everything, they somehow managed to keep a certain distance from their pursuers at all times, managing to damage and even kill some of them.

At this point, a new player joined the battle.

Drae'mon.

Like a shadow, he darted among the enemy beasts, killing one, already almost dying, with a Poisonous Claw behind him.

The Ailurus beast did not even have time to be shocked before it was brutally killed.

"200exp gained."

Simply by this move, Jeremy had gained enough exp points to reach level 5.

However, he dared not distract himself for fear of being blindsided by the beasts. He needed to eliminate them all before he could think about leveling.

The mass of black bones acted like an assassin, taking advantage of the darkness of the forest to avoid being tracked by enemies.

It only hit targets that were already one step away from death, without exposing itself much.

"Damn, at this rate he will kill everyone without even being seen, what a monster."

Jeremy was astonished. His order had simply been to go and kill everyone. He knew his undead was capable of doing this; he had seen him fight before.

Drae'mon's fighting instincts were not as simple as his master's. He was an expert on the battlefield. All thanks to the "Blessing of ??"

And so, slowly as time passed, more and more beasts died under his claws.

Even the Putorius, who seemed to be unreachable, were pierced and struck by the two groups in truce.

In particular, one of the two Rank E lvl15s of the Putorius was caught by the poisoned claws of the leader Ailurus, who swiped at him.

He immediately tried to retaliate by firing an Airshoot toward the Ailurus leader, hitting him in the face, triggering a critical hit.

"-720"

The fierce blow took almost one-sixth of his HP, bringing it down to about half.

Then again, both he and the leader Razorfang had clashed earlier, injuring themselves heavily.

However, this brief pause due to the attack left him exposed to the fangs of leader Razorfang, who violently used his Ferocious Fang on his neck.

"-576"

Huge damage struck leader Putorius, who shrieked in pain and frustration.

Had it not been for the Ailurus to reach him, he would never have suffered such a heavy blow from the Razorfang.

Shaking off its fangs, the beast backed away and managed to gain ground.

Then suddenly another critical blow struck leader Ailurus, who had been stunned and made vulnerable by the previous attack.

"-960"

The other leader Putorius had joined the fight, unbalancing the playing field in their favor.

The super critical hit, due to the vulnerability of his stunned state, immediately awakened poor leader Ailurus, who was left with very little HP.

His whole body trembled and his own blood stained his greenish fur.

HP: 700/4700

Without a moment's thought, he turned and fled the fight. He was fast and could make it, despite his wounded state.

The Razorfang leader, seeing his ally-say, fleeing, thought about doing the same. He could not face the two enemy leaders alone. That would have been suicide. He had to rejoin his people.

However, the two Putorius leaders could not let them both get away, so they set off in pursuit of the slower of the two.

They knew that they could not reach leader Ailurus in time before he rejoined his team; therefore, they had no choice but to pursue leader Razorfang.

Just as the three groups were switching to their lines of action, another uninvited guest appeared out of nowhere and struck the now injured and exhausted leader Ailurus with immense power.
