Chapter 13 - WELCOME TO THE HOUSE OF HORROR 1

STEVEN POV

After the darkness washed over me, I slowly opened my eyes and met myself in a dungeon cell. The cell was rusty, old and dusty. Cobwebs hanging around at every corner of the cell. The air was also grossly unwell to breathe and there was no window;of course there wasn't because it's a dungeon.

I indelicately stood up and found my way out of the place, but I was straightaway pulled back by chain shackles I wasn't aware of. Both my left and right hand were locked separately with a long chain attached to the ground. I struggled to break free but all to no avail. At least my legs were not chain, maybe I could scout around the cell and find something to free myself with.

When I was busy looking for a way, I could feel myself slipping away little by little due to the toxic odour in the cell. If I didn't find my way out of here, I'd definitely end up dying by suffocating.

There has to be something to get these chains off. I thought. Whenever I moved, the chains made their noise way down to the end of the dungeon which I don't know how far it was but I could hear the echo.

"There has to be something... Oh there it is," I beam with joy when I finally spot the key hanging on the wall next to the little wall lamp that was burning lowly. The problem was that it would be difficult to reach now that my hands were chained.

What should I do? I thought. Trying to think of a way to retrieve the key from where it was hanging. Then an idea came in. I lay down on my back and raised my legs up on the wall and started to stretch it as hard as I could.

It was a drudgery thing to do but I had no other choice if I was planning on surviving. I groaned with difficulty, stretching every inch of my legs muscles trying to reach the key and I managed to put my toes at the bottom tip of the key. Without wasting any second, I used my toes to clipped the tip and savagely pulled it down. Thank goodness. I picked the key from the floor and freed myself tout de suite.

When the chains were down, I went for the gate and viciously knocked it down with a single kick. I stepped outside the cell breathing heavily. I stood still looking at my right side, it seemed like it was an endless corridor, same with my left side. I was confused on which side to take.

"Goddamn! How am I supposed to know which way to go?" I whined in frustration. "HAAA!" I shouted when I then heard a loud thud coming far away from the right side. "I guess that's a sign." I muttered as I started running towards the right side.

I crashed into a series of disgusting things on my way, especially the cobwebs, they were everywhere. I was not taking any chance of slowing down

I continued running like it was going to be like forever. I was panting, my chest rising and falling simultaneously. "Is this ever going to end?! Who built this place!" I shouted as I continue running.

I haven't run much further before I collided into something - a human skeleton - I just hugged a goddamn skeleton. I let out a terrifying screeching and immediately kicked it with brutal force sending it shattering to one corner of the dungeon. Then I heard someone appeared out of the shadow with a lamp. The person's face still covered under the darkness.

"It's just a skeleton. It's harmless, you don't really have to scream like that," say the very familiar voice.

"Just because it's a skeleton doesn't mean I can't have a panic attack. And you need to shut the hell up!" I shouted. I've been seeking the chance to release all these frustrations by screaming them all out. "Just shut up!" I yelled again to my satisfaction and I was glad whoever it was obeyed my request until I calmed my nerves down. The person finally stepped out of the shadows entirely. The lamp brightened our surroundings revealing who it was - Reece - it turned out to be the goddamn son of the devil.
