Chapter 12 - WHO WORTH SAVING?: THE RESCUE

In fit of rage, The Nemesis held his second hand man tight on the neck as the latter choked for air. The servant all struggling to get released was in vain.

"I...hum...so... sorry master." The servant begged while being squeezed in the neck. "I beg...for your... mercy."

"Sorry or mercy can cut it!" The Nemesis shrugs off the servant's plea. He asperous slammed the servant to the wall making every other person in the room shake in fear. "What do you think will crop up when the Upper Table hears about this erroneous? Then I will be considered incompetent and a wimpy failure," he bellowed while others watched in silence as their commander kept prattle. "Take him out of my sight, he disgusts me and finds me someone else that's worth working by my side." He ordered the soldiers and they dragged the servant away. "Now fix those bugs before they ruin things beyond limit."

After the unexplainable catastrophe incident at the ward and the admitting of Gabriel, both patients were moved to another secure ward far away from other regular patients in order to prevent any unseen damage by the time they decide to go eccentric.

Habib's phone resonated in his pocket and he looked at the ID turning out to be Mr White... Again.

"Give me peace already, old mule!" He then switched his phone to have some peace.

"Daddy, will Gabriel come back to us? Is he ever going to wake up?" Habib heard Luca asking his father. Someone could notice the sadness overwhelmed his voice. The father looked at his son, giving him the best convincing smile he could come up with.

"Of course my boy, your brother isn't going anywhere. We just have to give him some time. Okay?" He said calmly and the boy nodded. The man's word was able to put Luca at ease, at least for now, but the other one, Carlos, wasn't buying his father's words which the man noticed.

The man lifted up his head , spotting Habib who had his back against the wall, and lost in thought.

"I am Antonio," he introduced himself, stretching out his hand.

"Habib," he gladly took the man's hand.

MEANWHILE…

We were taken to a stormy location. Thunder rumbling and lightning striking burning everything in its path. The cloud was dark, luckily we could still see each other.

"The storm is so powerful and the weather is unfriendly. We need to find Reece and get the hell out of here." I shouted due to the loudness of the lightning. "Keep your head low, Reece is the mission, okay? We need to split up to make it quick."

"Are you sure about that? We don't even know where we are."

"I know but sticking together won't favour us and make things quick. I hope everyone has their teleportation ticket," both of them nod. "Okay. Let's fan out and try to avoid getting struck by lightning and turn to barbecue." And so we headed in a different direction.

PASHINA POV

I've always been afraid of bad weather since I was little. I remembered I used to hide under my bed and cover my ears whenever I heard the rumbling of thunder. So, fate is cruel sometimes and that's why I am here. Rescuing someone in my own nightmare.

"Ahh!" I rooped in fear when a tree closer to me get struck by lightning and catch fire instantly. "I hate this. I hate this place. Hate this place. HAAA!" I exclaimed irritation. "This is all his fault. That brat cousin of mine! He has always be a pain in everyone's ass. I wish I can find him first, I will smack his face."

REECER POV

I have been roaming this godforsaken place for sometime now, but I have not managed to come across anything, just endless emptiness. Despite that, I could feel myself getting nearer to where my brother is. Series of thoughts were running through my mind. I could barely maintain a positive perspective and mindset. I hope there wasn't an entity that feast on misery and fear and exploit sanity.

After walking deeper into the unknown, I precipitously catched a gleam of light from distance which prompted my pace. When I finally got close to the light, I noticed it was irradiating from inside of a cottage. I ambulated carefully towards the door, watching my move. This is a bad idea and I know it, but this was the only thing I've encountered since I've been walking. This cottage doesn't look welcoming and going inside is like walking into the devil's nest, but what choice do I have. I have to take risks in order to find what I came here for.

I knocked at first to announce my presence, and that's a normal thing to do if it's not your place. The door opened by itself after that and I took that as an approval to enter. I'm not trespassing. I stepped inside quietly but the floor was cracked and broken making each step I took to make a cracking sound. The whole place was covered in cobwebs and it was empty and dusty. There was only one wall lamp serving as the source of light for the swarthy cottage. After walking a little away from the door, I heard the door become shut with a loud bang behind me. I almost collapsed with fear and the worst happened... The light went off and I was trapped in mirksome cottage.

"Hello?" I whispered and the next thing I knew was that I was being dragged away by an unseen force... SOMEBODY HELP ME!
