Scene One
(The scene opens in a beautifully decorated bedroom, with pink furniture and a large queen-size bed. It's morning. Phoebe is just waking up, stretching and yawning.)
Phoebe (groaning): Ugh, morning again already?
(She glances at the table clock beside her bed.)
Phoebe (gasps): 6:30?! Oh no, I'm going to be late! I can't ruin my perfect attendance!
(She jumps out of bed, grabs her already ironed uniform and polished shoes from the closet, and tosses them onto the bed. She runs into the bathroom to brush her teeth. A few minutes later, she comes back, quickly puts on her uniform, earrings, and grabs her backpack.)
(She's just about to leave when she catches a glimpse of herself in the mirror.)
Phoebe (panicking): Gosh—no makeup? No way.
(She quickly sits down and applies some light makeup, perfecting her look.)
(Phoebe rushes out to the living room — a spacious, mansion-like setting. She heads towards the dining table where her Mom, Dad, and big sister Leslie are already sitting — surprisingly early.)
Phoebe (surprised): Leslie... you're up early.
Phoebe (grumbling): No, I'm not.
Mom (smiling): Sweetie.
Phoebe: Morning, Mom. Morning, Dad.
Dad: Morning, sweetie.
Mom: Eat fast. You're running late.
Phoebe (rushing): I'll grab something to-go! I'm really late!
(She snatches a piece of toast.)
Leslie (calling out): Give me a sec, sis!
Phoebe (impatiently): I don't have a sec!
Leslie (standing up quickly): Okay, okay!
Phoebe (freaking out): I'm going to be late for assembly!
Leslie (teasing): Why are you so worked up?
Phoebe: I'm an assembly prefect, remember? I earned that post because I was always early to school. This could ruin everything!
Leslie (laughing): You're overthinking. It's just one time. No big deal.
Phoebe (relaxing a little): You're right. It's just one time. It's not like they'll take my badge away... right?
Leslie (grinning): Time's ticking! Get in the car!
Phoebe (jumping up): Right!
(They dash to the car and drive off.)
