The explanation of the main test was complete. Now, all participants were faced with the most crucial moment, the drawing of team participants.
The drawing was done quickly in two places, B.1 and B.2. Aiden saw his name in the middle pot, along with dozens of other participants.
The team participant selection system was randomized and based on the system.
One group contained one high talent, one mid talent, and two low talents. The terms can change depending on the situation.
One by one, prospective students got their own squads. Aiden got his, and he joined 71 with other students named Ronald, Melinda, and Clarissa.
"I don't know who they are? How do I find out about them?" Aiden asked.
After all the students got their squads, there were a total of 200 squads in this academy enrollment, making a total of 800 prospective students.
"After you get your teams, you can follow the map on these slips," Luis replied, handing out 400 silver slips to all the participants in the B.1 building.
Aiden got one and began to channel his energy. A floor plan of the Astralis Magical Academy appeared with a red dot on it.
Luis explained that the red dot was the team mentor, and he told everyone to go to the location of the red dot so they could gather with their team members.
Hearing that, everyone nodded in understanding. After the explanation from Luis was over, all the participants from the two buildings rushed off to follow the red dot's direction.
Aiden followed the green arrow spawned by the silver slip, walking through the academy's several courtyards and training fields until he came to a hill full of oak trees.
He didn't expect it to be so far away from the B.1 building. However, his steps halted when he saw a woman in an academy uniform sitting in a stone chair, enjoying her tea.
Aiden's appearance was noticed by the woman. She stopped what she was doing and asked without turning her back.
"Are you a member of the 71st squad?" she asked, and Aiden stopped walking and said yes.
"Yes, I am. I'm Aiden Aswald."
"I don't need to know your name, you're not a squad leader," the woman explained, sternly.
'What the hell is that?' Aiden complained.
Soon, three people arrived after ascending the stairs of the hill, one man and two women.
Aiden looked at them; the young man had never seen them before, either at the registration booth or at the talent test.
The woman mentor of the 71st squad turned around, welcoming the three people. Her demeanor turned warm and sweet when she greeted them, unlike when she spoke to Aiden.
"Welcome to the 71st squad. I'm Allana, I'm your mentor," Allana greeted.
Ronald, a tall man with short black hair, was wearing a black shirt with a gold pattern. Melinda and Clarissa came in fancy shirts and trousers, not dresses.
The three smiled and greeted Allana, only Melinda and Clarissa gave Aiden a sardonic look. Again, Aiden had expected that they would not like him.
"As you know, the main test is tomorrow night. You have more than 24 hours to practice and get to know each other," Allana explained, walking around the three.
"I'll also be taking care of your temporary housing, making sure you get enough rest."
"I will also inform you on how to survive in the artificial dimension," she added.
"Do you have any questions?" asked Allana, inviting the three in front of her to ask.
Aiden raised his hand, Allana looked over and sighed. Looking away, she let Aiden ask his question.
"About the environment in the Artificial Dimension, are there any monsters we need to defeat?" asked Aiden.
"Of course. The monsters are there to test your abilities. However, you don't have to worry, our elders put C-level monsters there, so you'll be able to fight them," Allana replied, without even looking at Aiden.
'Damn it!Does she hate me? Her attitude is so cold,' Aiden said.
It was Ronald's turn to raise his hand. He asked what the reward would be if a team defeated a monster.
Allana explained that each team could discuss the results of the item drops they got, the decision was decided by each team member.
Melinda and Clarissa asked other questions, and Allana answered them with a smile on her face. Her attitude towards Aiden was completely different, which annoyed Aiden.
Time passed so quickly, there were no more questions from them. Allana was relieved and happy, the team she was about to deal with seemed to be more obedient than before.
"I've sent the location of your temporary home. You can go back there and rest," Allana explained, taking a silver slip and sending the location of the house to the silver slips of 71's four squad members.
"Alright, we're leaving," replied Ronald, as the squad leader.
Allana nodded. She also asked them to be ready early in the morning because Allana herself would be helping them with their training.
The three left the oak tree hill. Aiden sighed, getting up from his seat on the rock as he walked toward the stairs.
"Wait!" insisted Allana, bringing Aiden's steps to a halt.
"I hate to do this, but withdraw, Aiden," Allana said, speaking while still reluctantly looking at Aiden.
"Don't make them fail because of your incompetence," Allana explained.
"Did you think I would fail?" asked Aiden, speaking with his eyes focused forward.
"You're a commoner, your place is not here. It's lucky you have mid-level talent," Allana replied.
"If you resign, perhaps I can recommend you to the Arcanis Sword Institute," she replied again.
'She really underestimated me,' Aiden said.
"Thank you for worrying about me, I can't—"
"I'm not worried about you. I'm worried about them, especially Ronald," Allana interrupted.
Aiden turned his head, looking at Allana who was sitting back in the stone chair while continuing to drink tea.
"I'll pass the main test, with or without them!" Aiden declared.
"HAHA!"
"You're arrogant for a commoner."
"Alright. How about a bet?" asked Allana, challenging Aiden.
"If you make it into the academy or even into Iris' class, I'll be your mentor for a year!" said Allana.
"If you fail, you and your family will have to work in my manor for a year!"
"How?" asked Allana.
Aiden was silent for a moment, he was pretty sure that he could pass, but Allana's challenge created doubts in Aiden's heart.
In the end, Aiden agreed with Allana. He would prove that he would pass the test tomorrow.
"Sure, I agree."
