[Registration successful]
[Name: Aiden Aswald]
[Dominant Element: Fire]
[Participant Number: 165]
From the panel, a white metal slip was formed and given to Aiden. Aiden was successfully registered as a candidate for the magic academy, he was also invited to go to Building A.2 to do the talent test.
Before taking the main test, the students were instructed to test their talents. This was so that the academy could decide on the students' pots based on their basic magical abilities.
There were two buildings that ran the talent test, building A.1 and A.2. The committee told Aiden to go do the talent test in building A.2.
The girl behind Aiden also went in the same direction. She stepped up to Aiden and introduced herself, she was Lisa.
"What's the talent test really like?" she asked.
Aiden had gotten some information from Master Sylas about the talent test. They would be gathered in a room with ten magic ball podiums.
The candidate had to stand in front of the podium while sticking out their hands, releasing their magic energy which was transmitted into the magic balls. That way, a record of the student's talent ability was immediately recorded by the committee.
"We just need to flow our magic energy into the available magic balls. They'll explain it later," Aiden replied.
Although the results of the talent test were directly recorded by the committee's system, the students could see how great their talent ability was. There are three levels of talent in this test: low, mid, and high.
Those with a high talent level would have a glowing yellow light on the magic ball, the mid talent level would only glow blue, and the low level would not reflect any light.
Lisa nodded. She didn't get any information because her family's noble status was not high. During the period before enrolling, Lisa was only busy practicing magic.
The door to building A.2 opened, revealing a large area with a circular pattern on the floor. There were 10 magic ball podiums on the circular floor, where one committee stood at each podium.
Their turn would come after the committee called out the participant's number. Currently, the talent test was on participant number 75, quite far from 165.
Aiden and Lisa handed their registration slips to the first committee member. The committee would announce their names when it was time for the talent test.
"You can go to the second floor to wait," explained the committee staff, Aiden and Lisa nodded.
Again, the presence of a commoner like Aiden didn't make the other participants happy. They whispered, gossiped, and mocked Aiden by saying that he didn't deserve to be here.
Even so, Aiden didn't really care. He walked to a table chair and sat there, waiting for his name to be called.
Aiden's attention was drawn to the surroundings, finding no sign of the young man named Aleksei.
'He must be in Building A.1,' Aiden said.
While Aiden was waiting, a young man walked up to him. Wearing a blue noble suit with striking blonde hair, Lisa kept her eyes on the young man.
"Are you the commoner?" the young man asked.
"I am. So what do you want to do?" asked Aiden.
"You're pretty arrogant for a commoner. Do you want to fight me?" the young man asked.
He surprisingly radiated his powerful magical aura, making all the people's attention on him.
Aiden remembered his mother's words not to make enemies with them, especially since Aiden wasn't officially a student yet.
"How about it, coward? Show me your skills!" he snapped.
Aiden casually smiled, then crossed his arms while explaining the important rules during the magic academy's student registration process.
"Fighting during the student enrollment process will get you disqualified. Didn't you read that rule?" asked Aiden, scoffing.
"Tch!"
Realizing the rules were written like that made the young man immediately dispel his magic aura.
The situation returned to normal, but his annoyance at Aiden still remained. He would wait for Aiden in the main test later.
"You're smart. I'll wait for you when the main test is held. When that time comes, I'll beat you and make you think that you don't deserve to be here!" he threatened.
Irritated, he walked away from Aiden and Lisa's table. Lisa could breathe a sigh of relief that a fight had not occurred between them, but she had not expected Aiden's impact as a commoner to be so great among the other noble participants.
'I'd better not get too close to him, I might get affected,' Lisa explained.
They waited for about 30 minutes, finally it was Aiden and Lisa's turn. They walked down the stairs and arrived at their own magic ball podiums, the nobles who had already done the talent test stopped what they were doing to see what the commoners were capable of.
"You may start," the committee member said, and Aiden nodded.
Aiden stretched out both hands and transferred his magic energy into the magic ball. At first, no color emerged from it, but slowly a blue color appeared, indicating that Aiden's talent was mid.
"Thank you, you can go to building B.1 to wait," explained the staff in front of Aiden, Aiden immediately said yes.
He looked to the side, seeing Lisa's magic ball. Aiden was shocked, he saw Lisa's magic ball glowing yellow, a sign of her high talent. People were impressed with Lisa's abilities.
However, not a few of them were annoyed that Aiden had a mid talent. They didn't think a commoner like Aiden should have such a talent.
Aiden stepped closer to Lisa while congratulating the girl. However, Lisa's response seemed indifferent, unlike before.
"I have to go to building B.2," Lisa explained.
"Alright. We'll likely part ways here," Aiden said.
Lisa nodded. She began to walk away and let Aiden walk to the B.1 building on his own.
The blond boy who had challenged Aiden earlier was getting more and more annoyed, that's because his talent was on par with Aiden.
"Damn it! Why does that coward have such a mid talent? I can't stand this. This is the same as saying that I'm on par with commoners like him!" the young man scolded.
He was eager to fight with Aiden to prove his worth, but the rules stated that no participant was allowed to fight outside of the main test. That made him even more annoyed.
One by one, the participants began to leave the A.2 building to go to where they were waiting.
Aiden was the same, he walked alone until he found the location of building B.1, where the participants were temporarily placed until the pot drawing was done.
The door to the B.1 building was open, Aiden saw that there were hundreds of candidates in that place waiting for their names to be assigned to certain groups.
In the spacious hall-like building, there was a large screen that would display images of the main test group drawing pots. Aiden was quite impressed with their registration system.
"Welcome to Building B.1. I'm Luis, I'll explain the simple rules regarding your main test tomorrow," the man replied, standing in front of the hundreds of students seated in their own seats.
The man showed a presentation on the flow of the main test to the participants. Aiden read it carefully, matching what Sylas had said.
"This main test is a team test, one team will have four participants," Luis explained.
"Each team will be given a gold plate to protect. Your job is to collect these gold plates from each of the other teams," Luis said, holding up a gold plate that was the same size as the registration plate.
"This is a ranking of the number of gold plates you need to collect," Luis adds, changing the presentation screen to a ranking of each team's gold plates.
In short, those who accumulate more than 100 gold plates will be appointed as the academy's first students, who will be directly trained by the main elders and head of the academy.
Those who collect more than 50 will be assigned to the Iris class, a class with more magic resources.
Those who accumulate more than 25 plates will join the Silk class, a lower class that only receives general lessons from the instructors.
"The main test time is one day, and you will be placed in an artificial dimension," Luis replied.
"There, you are free to do anything. Any means are allowed so that you can get this gold plate," he continued.
"You don't have to worry about fatal accidents or death, our system will detect you if you are dying, you will be instantly teleported to the academy," Luis said.
"At this point, I hope you understand."
Aiden nodded, the other students responded similarly. In short, to become a student of this magic academy, a team had to collect at least 26 gold plates.
Still, Aiden didn't know how the other participants from the nobility would respond if they knew they were in the same team as Aiden.
'Damn! This is like a battle royal.I have to be careful if I don't want to fail,' Aiden said.
