Chapter 16 - Wailing and Fleeing

"Come if you want, leave if you want? Did you ask me?" Duval was surrounded by several Xenomorphs, his face expressionless.

Originally, he could have quietly parasitized the Abomination, accumulating his own strength, and wouldn't have had to use his power so openly so quickly.

But Ikaris, with his ill intentions, just had to come.

"Since you're here, why not stay?"

If possible, Duval would be happy to turn Ikaris into a part of his own species.

Having a poor man's Superman Xenomorph would greatly enhance his combat power.

Although it would be incredibly difficult, he didn't yet have the strength to defeat Ikaris, and it would be hard to find an opportunity to parasitize him.

Ikaris wouldn't be as easy to deal with as the Abomination.

Shred!

Ikaris was finally injured.

His opponent not only had hands and feet, but also a powerful tail, and even more unexpectedly, the most terrifying weapon of all... the Inner Jaw!

The Abomination Xenomorph suddenly spat out its Inner Jaw, tearing a piece of flesh from Ikaris's face.

Ikaris widened his eyes, incredulously touching his bloody face, his eyes instantly turning red.

Not only did extreme anger surge within him, but also unprecedented anxiety.

He was, after all, not the Superman from next door; he could be injured, he would run, and he would consider the value of a battle, whether it was worth risking exposure like this.

Most importantly, Ikaris had no idea where the Abomination Xenomorph's limits were; it just kept getting stronger the more they fought, which was too mentally taxing.

Ikaris roared repeatedly, punching the Abomination Xenomorph in the face, then charging forward, punching the Abomination Xenomorph's head again and again.

The moving speed of the two figures could easily break the Sound Barrier, and the shockwaves around them were comparable to bombs, spreading out in visible ripples.

Tanks fired their cannons, and a large number of armed helicopters launched missiles.

The losses were simply too great to continue fighting like this; if the military didn't do something, it would be difficult to justify.

General Ross stood on a helicopter, staring blankly at the chaotic scene before him.

If it were just the Abomination fighting the Hulk, there would still be a chance to salvage the situation, but now? Forget it, he was bound to be sent to Military Court.

"Who exactly is this flying guy?! And who is he fighting?!" General Ross couldn't hold back anymore. "Aim at both of them and fire!"

Ikaris was hit by several shells, and in response, he swept his Heat Vision, destroying all the helicopters, including Ross's vehicle.

Seeing that General Ross was about to die on the spot,

Iron Man returned and timely used his back to withstand the explosion, grabbed Ross with one hand, and accelerated to a high-rise building.

"I don't like you, but it would be a joke if you died here," Tony said.

"Tony Stark! You should have let those two monsters kill me."

"That's right, you're right. That would force the government to deal with those two guys, and your Super Soldier Program would continue to advance," Tony said coldly, then flew into the sky, heading towards the scene.

Honestly, he also felt that getting involved like this would likely result in a terrible death; the Mark 3 couldn't withstand those two guys' punches, but he had no choice.

At this moment, perhaps by chance, the Abomination Xenomorph was being repeatedly beaten, its head cracked open, and highly corrosive blood splattered out.

Ikaris's eyes lit up; he was about to kill his opponent. According to normal logic, that was how it should be, but the next second, he was splashed with the highly corrosive liquid on his face, letting out a wail that hardly sounded like him.

Ikaris was stunned; he personally felt his face "melting"!

"Aaaaaah!!!"

Ikaris let out a shrill scream, covering his face, even though this action caused his hands to also be stained with the blood, beginning to dissolve bit by bit.

Was this a Deviant? No, this creature was a thousand times more terrifying than a Deviant; being injured only made it more dangerous, capable of inflicting even more terrifying damage!

The Abomination Xenomorph went berserk, ignoring its own rapidly healing injuries, and suddenly stretched out its two giant hands, hugging Ikaris tightly and hammering him.

Ikaris was struck by this terrifying force, crashing through a dozen buildings. He was horrified; although he still felt that if they continued to fight, he would still win, facing an enemy who could spray terrifying blood that caused heavy damage to him the more injured and near death it became, continuing to fight would be a huge loss! Ikaris weighed the pros and cons, and simply used this momentum to escape! Escape at all costs! Fighting to the death with an enemy who wasn't even a Deviant was meaningless, even if that human had extraordinary knowledge and seemed to know a lot of secret information; he couldn't care less about such trivial things.

In the end, Ikaris violently smashed through the attic on top of a building, and from bottom to top, accurately smashed the person blocking his path—General Ross—into a strange red mist, scattering in all directions.

At that time, Ikaris didn't even stop, bathing in blood, letting the pieces of flesh mixed with blood patter down, and flew straight into the night sky, disappearing from people's sight.

As for Ross? Sorry, no matter how powerful he was, Ikaris wouldn't care about such an ordinary person. He only wanted to escape to a safe place and then clean off the strong acid that had already corroded into his bones!! Only Tony Stark, who had been rushing to the battlefield just seconds before, remained silent in the air for a long while before reluctantly flying back, looking down at the bloodstains and damage on the rooftop.

"If I said that Ross's death had nothing to do with me, not even a penny's worth, and that I didn't intentionally put him here, that his death was purely an accident, Jarvis, do you think the judges would believe it?"

"It's hard to say, sir. According to calculations of your situation, they most likely won't believe it, but they don't have any solid evidence."

"Good, Jarvis, let's get our stories straight first, don't let anything slip. If they ask us whether it was intentional or accidental—"

For the first time, Tony felt that being a superhero wasn't an easy job.

Someone dying was already troublesome, especially when the person who died had a special identity, and died because he had deliberately put him there...

Too tragic.

Don't get him wrong, Tony wasn't saying Ross was tragic. The shady things Ross did behind the scenes couldn't be exposed to the light. After tonight's events, even if Ross survived, his best outcome would be life imprisonment.

Tony felt that he was too tragic, encountering such a thing not long after starting out.

Tonight's events really gave him a harsh lesson. Abomination and Hulk were one thing, but the two powerful monsters that appeared afterward were even more unscrupulous when they fought, with astonishing destructive power, and an even more exaggerated shock to the hearts of the world.

People realized for the first time that these superhumans were right beside them, and if they really fought without restraint, they could easily create a huge disaster.

Who could deal with these people? The army's planes and cannons? It seemed impossible at the moment. High-powered weapons couldn't be used anytime, anywhere, and even if they were used, they might not be effective.

Tony turned his attention to the Abomination Xenomorph, quickly followed it, and finally landed fifty meters in front of Duval.

The extremely violent Abomination Xenomorph was now slowly retracting its muscles that had expanded all over its body. It was standing quietly beside Duval, without any of the madness and horror it had shown earlier.

"Beautiful, just like a well-behaved little girl, but I guess it doesn't have a gender."

Tony flew in front of Duval, quickly reading all the information about Duval that Jarvis had uploaded, while speaking.

"Tony Stark, it's a pleasure to meet you in this situation," Duval said with a friendly expression.

"You're happy too soon, more trouble will be coming your way soon," Tony said. "Buddy, do you know how much commotion these creatures you created have caused around the world?"
