Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Marquis Van de Cederèz

It's been a month.

Not much happened, but it couldn't be said to be a boring one either.

In a month, he had gathered many abilities, totaling over 10.

[Eyesight: 0.0001]

[Flexibility: 0.0001]

[Hip Power: 0.0001]

[Mind Computability: 0.0001]

[Jaw Power: 0.0001]

[Bone Durability: 0.0001]

[Regeneration: 0.0001]

[Mind Comprehensibility: 0.0001]

[Willpower: 1]

[Tenacity: 0.0001]

Some are self-evident, while others, like Mind Computability and Mind Comprehensibility, are more specific. The former was heavy on the mind's ability to think, while the latter was more leaned on inspiration and creativity, widely increasing the range of thought.

Willpower is the will to resist the 'temptations', while tenacity is the body's tolerance on everything. From what he understand, willpower covered everything about soul, consciousness and will, while tenacity covered anything that has anything do to with durability, albeit more widespread and not so specific.

Many of these specific abilities were gained due to Heins's mind complexity, being a matured mind in a baby body.

He received Willpower by literally resisting the urge to look at his parents, who were busy immersing themselves in the way of creation.

It was the reason that he left 1 point in willpower. He feared that if he carelessly let the number low, he wouldn't be able to resist the urge to look at his parents when they were fooling around...

By now, he had over 16 points heavily invested in Potential Hormon Growth.

[Potential Hormon Growth: 15.9985]

Heins leaned on his mother's chest, surveying the blue sky on the outside world through the carriage's window. He was donning a very formal three piece attire. Normally, a month old baby like him would not be treated in such a way, but his growth was just too abnormal.

Three weeks ago, he could already ran like an uncaged hen. Two weeks ago, he could already performed some calisthenic exercises, hopping around the room like a monkey. A week ago, he could basically do everything, even lifting the cradle to enhance his muscle mass.

While his outward appearance remained that of an infant, inwardly, his anatomy has already matured, developed to perfection. And this process would continue until his growing phase ends.

Heins was extremely astounded. He knew Potential Growth Hormon was important, but he didn't expect it to be so miraculous!

Unlike in his previous life, where this phenomenon would lead to fundamental issues that would disturb the body's metabolism, the enhanced hormon growth ensures that it would enhance every bit of his body's functionality, not being excessive or minimal to any of his organs.

Everything could keep up with each other, not to mention that since this world is not ordinary, the average mental maturage is around 11-12 years old. Comprehending them through mediocre means would not have any results.

Of course, to keep his exceptional growth confidential, Heins had no choice but to hide it deeply. From what he heard from the conversation of his parents, his father had made a lot of enemies in his expedition against the nearby forces.

His father rose to his status as an Earl, not like others who inherited it from their predecessors. The different was like a chasm. His father, if placed in other Earl families, was basically a first generation ancestor!

However, since his father achieved it through military merits and was a warrior to the bone, he has no interest in managing a territory, and thus entrusted the granted territory to one of the princes, receiving a subsidiary every month.

Coincidentally, his father's benefactor, the Third Prince, was the one he entrusted with his territory. The Third Prince was the 3rd Grand Commander, while his father was the most trusted general under his lead. Their bond was deeper than blood, already crossing the line between life and death multiple times.

There was a reason his father was very concerned about the royal family. After all, he has a connection with the Third Prince.

So if his information was spread carelessly, who knows what sort of troubles that will come knocking?

Beside, a peaceful and steady life this past month was very comfortable. There's no need for unnecessary attention from others.

"My son, do you want to execrate?" Regner asked in a doting tone, though the question was less pleasant. Heins's red eyes blankly bored into his own, and for some reason, Regner felt very embarrassed.

Lenissia giggled as she rubbed Heins's hair, "My husband, Heins has passed that phase. Don't you know that he could even recognize words now?"

"What?!" Regner was dumbstruck.

To prove her point, Lenissia proudly caught Heins's attention by waving a toy in front of him.

Heins inwardly rolled his eyes, but for the sake of acting like a normal baby, he voluntarily followed the toy with his eyes.

After catching his attention, Lenissia pointed at a particular tree and cheerfully asked, "My little joy, what is that?"

Heins twitched slightly, and with exaggerated wide eyes, he stammered out.

"Re.... T-Teree!"

"Oh my god!" Regner was so shocked that he tumbled back, his head hitting against the hard wood. But he did not react, his eyes were filled with only happiness, shock and pride.

"My son... He is a genius!!!"

Lenissia giggled, and Heins could only avert his eyes. His father... He's somewhat odd. Nonetheless, Heins involuntarily giggled, inciting laughters from his parents.

Soon, the carriage directly bypassed the town gate. Despite his aloof status, Regner and his wife chose to live amongst the villagers, with their manor located within a rural yet peaceful village.

This is the nearest town from the village, Kaylen Town.

Heins looked out in wonder. The town has a certain median charm, with carriages and merchants bustling about. However, due to the prosperous development of the human physique, along with the mystic nature of this world, the lifestyle is no way inferior to the modern world he lived in.

Due to the common threats of the mystical beasts and demons, it was even better here. Of course, the looming threat that covet mankind is the reason many wouldn't cast an eye towards insignificant issues. Whereas a mere insult could incur a death battle in his previous life, here, the most insulting thing an ordinary person could say would be poor, ugly, and such.

They were also more tolerant and tenacious, capable of resisting the pressurized life against the monsters. So even being called poor would only incur a laughter.

As they said, the darker the shadow, the brighter the light. Of course, under the assumption that the higher hierarch was the light.

Kaylen Town is the territory of one of his father's acquaintances, Marquis Van de Cederèz. The title has been passed down for over ten thousand years, reflecting the quality of education the family had imposed on their descendents.

After all, a prodigal descendant is not enough to preserve a family. One also has to be covert, sharp, witty and wise. If a fist is an answer to all, then they would have to clash against the court. That would be equivalent to courting demise.

Compared to his father who had yet to decide the surname of his noble lineage, the foundation of Marquis Van de Cederèz was undoubtedly more profound.

It was also a testament to his father impressive merits that allowed him to be granted a high noble title.

"Heins, this is Kaylen Town. It specialized in spices, minerals and culinary. The current person in charge was a man who likes to hold banquets, deeming it important for social interactions and building strong relations." Lenissia smiled as she observed the outside scenery.

Regner, hearing her lengthy explanation, was utterly confused, "My wife, you don't have to explain it to me over and over again. I've known him for over a decade now. No matter how forgetful I am, meeting him constantly would ensure that he is ingrained deep within my mind."

As for the misspelled name at the beginning of her elaboration? Well, Regner directly ignored it.

Lenissia glared at her husband and snorted, "It's not for you, you big oaf. It's for our son!"

"Is that possible?"

Regner's eyes bulged. So she was actually for real?

Could his son be more exceptional than he thought?

"Well, surely if he heard of this explanation, he would be able to remember it when he turn 5, the time where his consciousness fully matured. After all, an early education is as good as an early nurturing!"

Regner was astounded by her logic, but because she is his wife, he seldom in arguing against her. A warrior must know that he could be a raging tide in the battlefield, but he is but a mere husband for his wife.

Heins was even more speechless. Where's the logic coming from? How come I never heard of it? Even with a lifetime worth of memory, Heins was utterly clueless about his mother's train of thought.

Afterward, the environment outside gradually became less crowded yet lavish, but not lavishly unpleasant. Heins's beady eyes observed the innermost of the town. The distance between buildings here was several dozens of meters, with each resident having a personal courtyard.

For some reason, the building flair resembled the prominent oriental style, exuding a sense of elegance and warmth. The majority of the houses were rectangle-shaped, with a tree towering in the middle, an indication a small garden existed.

The innermost city was mainly dwelled with houses. Even if there were stores, they were very high-end, obviously reserved for the rich residents here

It was quite mismatched. Van de Cederèz and oriental flair? Heins was quite skeptical.

Which one is wrong, the memory of his previous life or this world?

"We've arrived."

The attendant announced from the front, his face peeking in through the fabric. Regner nodded and heroically jumped done, holding out his hand for Lenissia to take.

"M'Lady."

In Heins's eyes, his father's rugged, dumb face magically became suave and handsome, his red eyes piercing yet firm, exuding unmatched masculinity. The baby was speechless. So his father still has that in him?

Lenissia's amber eyes warmed and became infatuated, his gesture a reminder towards their very first meeting. Even something as trivial as this had to be so chummy.

Heins, comfortably secured in her arm, avert his eyes again. Alright, you guys are so lovey-dovey, I shall wait for my little sibling to come out.

After the family of three came out, the situation became clear. Although Marquis Van de Cederèz loves banquets, their visit was not for it.

Heins watched as a white-haired lady came out of the eastern-oriented manor, which was significantly bigger and more towering. He estimated that it has 4 floors or even more, with each floor occupying hundreds or even thousands of square meter.

The white-haired lady smiled brightly as she briskly strode towards him, more specifically his mother, her silver eyes shining, "Lenissia! How come you didn't tell me about your visit? It was only when my husband disclosed it just now that I became aware of it. How could you?"

The lady mock a hurtful look, but one could see that she was very happy. Lenissia giggled and was about to reply when the lady rapidly closened the distance, her dainty hands already on Heins's cheeks.

"Who is this cute baby?! Lenissia, you already conceived?!"

"He was born just a month ago, Roxenne. Anyway, enough about me. I heard that your second daughter was born a few weeks ago?"

The lady, Roxenne, seems to be shocked and asked in panic, "Wait! How did you know about my second daughter? Damn, who disclosed it to you?! It was supposed to be a surprise! I'll give them a scolding of a lifetime!"

Meanwhile, as Heins was stuck between two prominent ladies, with his cheeks being their rubber stress balls, Regner has already entered the manor.

He was greeted by his comrade, the Marquis.

"Welcome, Regner."

Regner smiled at the dignified man, the Marquis's pale blonde hair and icy northern eyes only adding up to his solemn disposition, "I greet Marquis Reish Van de Cederèz."

The two men smiled at each other. Unlike the ladies, they merely looked at each other, their gaze conveyed a thousand words.

"Well then, my friend Regner, shall we talk?"
