The world was divided into users of various classes:

Fighters (like Yor, physical and mana-based warriors)
Beast Tamers (extremely rare and mysterious)
But when the guild examined the monster Yor had slain, their jaws dropped. It was a rare Level 2 beast. Instantly, Yor was promoted from F to D-Rank and rewarded with a substantial amount of gold.
In this world, gold was everything. It could be used to buy weapons, food, information—anything.
Moreover monster core can be traded for equipment which is not easily available with gold.
He used the core to trade better equipment, trading the monster core for a stronger sword and armor.
More importantly, he received his Awakening Code: 512.
