Chapter 35 - Shang Yanyan – Another Female Lead

"Alright, then I shall go and ask."

Shang Yanyan had long harbored feelings for Chu Yi.

Now, with Lin An'an egging her on, she was even more determined to prove herself.

With those words, she pushed through the small crowd around her and stepped forward.

Meanwhile, a gaggle of girls near the school gate continued to chat animatedly.

"Oh my god, he's so handsome! His skin is flawless—I hereby declare him my new male idol!"

"Seriously, he's even hotter than those oppas on TV—he's too much to handle!"

"I just want to run up and hug him. That face... it's too charming!"

One exclamation after another poured out, making Chu Yi, who was standing nearby, feel somewhat helpless.

Their enthusiasm was overwhelming—utterly unmanageable.

He even found himself wondering if he could slip away unnoticed.

Just as he was caught in his thoughts, a slightly nervous voice reached his ears.

"Hello, oppa… may I have your QQ number?"

Hmm?

Who just spoke to me?

He could hear the voice, but see no one.

With a hint of confusion in his eyes, Chu Yi began to look around.

"Oppa, I'm right here."

The voice came again.

Finally, Chu Yi looked down and noticed a petite girl standing before him.

Well, perhaps "petite" wasn't entirely accurate—Chu Yi was simply very tall.

After consuming the elixir, his physique had developed into the ideal human proportion, standing a full twenty centimeters taller than the girl.

"Oppa, my name is Shang Yanyan. Could I please add your QQ? You're really handsome."

As Chu Yi's gaze fell upon her, Shang Yanyan grew visibly tense.

But… add her on QQ?

Chu Yi frowned upon seeing her clearly.

The girl before him looked every bit the delinquent.

Her face was caked in heavy makeup, and she wore a skirt that barely reached past her knees.

Despite having the delicate features of a budding beauty, she was not the type Chu Yi wanted to be associated with.

He was about to gently turn her down when something clicked in his mind.

Wait a moment—wasn't there a major female character, a school beauty at Chengbei No. 1 High, that Ye Fan was supposed to encounter?

Her surname… wasn't it Shang?

He remembered cursing himself when reading that part of the plot—calling Chu Yi a beast.

Could it be…

A smile tugged at his lips, and he silently asked the system:

"System, spend 100 Villain Points to identify the girl in front of me."

"Ding! Identification complete."

Name: Shang Yanyan

Age: 16

Fate Level: 270

Role: Second-tier Female Lead

Looks: 92/100

Hobbies: Enjoys novelty and thrilling experiences.

As expected—she was a female lead.

She appeared later in the original storyline, which explained why he hadn't recognized her right away.

Now that her identity was clear, he had to treat her differently.

Under her hopeful gaze, Chu Yi nodded.

"Very well. I can give it to you."

"Really? Oh my gosh—thank you, oppa!"

Shang Yanyan nearly jumped with joy, looking like a little girl who'd just received a lollipop.

But soon she collected herself, hurriedly fishing out a phone from her tiny handbag and handing it over to Chu Yi.

"Here, oppa—you enter it yourself."

"Alright."

Chu Yi took the phone, noting the distinct Apple logo.

He mused to himself:

Well, well… looks like she's quite the little rich girl.

This was the newly released iPhone 6, costing at least six to seven thousand yuan.

For a family surviving on a monthly wage of just two thousand, that was a three-month sacrifice.

But, her choice of phone wasn't his concern.

After adding himself on QQ, he handed it back to her.

"All done?"

As she took the phone back, Shang Yanyan slyly let her fingers brush against his—deliberately lingering for several seconds, just long enough to be noticed.

Almost too long.

"Ding! Congratulations, host—Shang Yanyan's affection level increased by 35.

You have significantly altered the trajectory of the plot.

Reward: 20 Fate Points, 1000 Villain Points."

The system's voice echoed in Chu Yi's mind.

Meanwhile, at the school gates, the crowd of fangirls began to sour.

"Wow… she actually got his QQ. This guy's way too easygoing."

"Right? Now I kinda want to ask for it too… do you think I still can?"

"Forget it. We should really know our place. We're no match for Shang Yanyan in the looks department."

The envy in the crowd was palpable.

Among them, one girl's gaze turned especially cold.

Heavily made up and dressed much like Shang Yanyan, this girl was named Xiao Li.

A rival of Shang Yanyan's, she had long vied for the title of top delinquent at school.

She had never liked Shang Yanyan—and now, seeing her chatting up such a stunning boy, her heart burned with resentment.

Even as Shang Yanyan spoke with Chu Yi, her mind was already spinning with ways to make him hers.

Then—her first challenger arrived.

"Chu Yi, here's your water."

An Ran jogged over, her forehead beaded with tiny drops of sweat from the heat.

A faint blush bloomed on her cheeks, enhancing her already radiant beauty.

She bent slightly to catch her breath, then handed the bottle to Chu Yi with delicate fingers.

"Thanks, An Ran."

Chu Yi took the water and drank a couple of sips, intending to hand it back—

But before he could, Shang Yanyan darted forward, snatching it from his hand.

"I'm really thirsty too!" she declared, unscrewing the cap and taking a few gulps before Chu Yi could even respond.

"Oppa, you don't mind if I drink from it, do you?"

"You… who are you?"

Only then did An Ran notice the girl beside Chu Yi.

Seeing her boldness, she frowned deeply.

Chu Yi was hers.

Who was this brat?

"I'm his girlfriend," Shang Yanyan said boldly, puffing out her chest with pride.

"I should be the one asking—you are?"

"I'm also Chu Yi's girlfriend," An Ran retorted coolly.

"Little girl, if you're going to lie, at least make it believable.

Go back and study before you dream of romance."

She clearly didn't take Shang Yanyan's claim seriously.

Not only was the girl young, but she looked like trouble—there was no way Chu Yi would go for someone like that.

"I…" Shang Yanyan began to argue—

But just then, a cry rang out from the school gate:

"The Dean is coming! Run!"

In an instant, the crowd scattered like startled birds.
