After Rai successfully fused Lala and Caca into a new Level 2 khodam, he officially reached the rank of a Level 2 Shaman.
Once the fusion was complete, Rai attempted to separate the two khodams. The process turned out to be much easier than before. Repeating the fusion was also smoother, as both khodams were already familiar with the synchronization.
Rai continued practicing the fusion and separation repeatedly to improve his control and understanding.
"You now have two options," said Dukun Rosso. "You can either begin preparing for your advancement to Level 3 Shaman, or you can spend more time exploring additional khodam combinations. You currently have four khodams—one natural and three artificial. Although combining them may still be challenging, it will be easier than the first time since you've already succeeded once."
"Can I try reaching Level 3 now?" Rai asked.
"You can, but it won't be easy," Dukun Rosso replied. "I recommend experimenting with a few more combinations first. Mastering the fusion of three khodams requires a deeper understanding—it's on a different level."
"I see. Then I'll try more combinations first."
"Before that," Rosso continued, "have you felt a type of energy that brings calmness to your mind?"
"Yes," Rai answered. "It's different from khodam energy, which feels heavy and solid. This energy feels more like a calm sea—peaceful and soothing."
"That is spiritual energy," Rosso explained. "Now that you've begun to sense it, you can learn to harness it. With spiritual energy, you can start learning various types of magic and choose your path as a shaman."
"What kind of paths?" Rai asked with curiosity.
"For example," Rosso said, "there are shamans who create spiritual food, others who craft artificial khodams, make potions, or create talismans and magical artifacts. You may have seen some of them in the Banjar spirit market. There are many professions within the shamanic world. You can even bring some of these skills into the real world if you choose."
Rai listened closely, his heart filled with anticipation. A new chapter in his journey was just beginning.
Rai looked at Master Rosso with a serious expression, though a question had been lingering in his mind.
"If I may ask, Master," Rai said calmly, "what kind of spiritual careers actually exist in the real world?"
Rosso gave a slight smile, as if he'd already expected the question. "There are quite a few, actually. For example, I work as a spiritual advisor. People come to me for all sorts of things—finding missing persons, locating lost items, or dealing with matters related to the supernatural."
Rai nodded slowly, listening carefully.
"Sometimes I'm asked to inspect heirlooms or inherited objects that people believe may hold spiritual energy," Rosso continued. "Other times, it's simply about bringing peace—through meditation or energy cleansing."
"Do all shamans do that sort of work?" Rai asked curiously.
"Not necessarily," Rosso replied. "Some specialize in certain areas—like crafting talismans, brewing potions, or even creating artificial khodams. And interestingly, some choose to appear in more mainstream professions—like street magicians. You'd be surprised how many of them actually use spiritual assistance to enhance their tricks."
Rai looked amazed. "So... the world of shamans can hide behind everyday things?"
"Exactly," Rosso chuckled. "But keep in mind, once you start offering your services in the real world, most of your clients will be ordinary people. And sometimes, their requests might cross the line. There are even people who've asked me to harm others."
Rai fell silent, taking in the gravity of that thought.
"I don't accept every request," Rosso added firmly. "Being a shaman isn't just about power—it's about responsibility and having a strong moral compass. You need to know when to help, and when to say no."
Rai gave a thoughtful nod. "I understand now. Being a shaman isn't only about mastering the supernatural—it's about how we choose to use that mastery in the real world."
Rosso smiled, clearly pleased. "Exactly. And I believe you'll find the path that's right for you."
"But as your teacher," Rosso said with a firm tone, "I strongly advise you not to start a career in the real world just yet."
Rai blinked, slightly confused. "Why not?"
Rosso looked him in the eye. "Because once you make a name for yourself out there, your physical body becomes a target. Don't forget your original goal—you're here to find the black shaman and stop him, right?"
Rai nodded slowly.
"We, the ones on the surface who help ordinary people, are the frontline of white shamans," Rosso explained. "We counteract curses, protect the innocent, and sometimes even battle black shamans directly—sending curses back and forth, each trying to kill the other."
Rai's expression grew more serious as he listened.
"As a beginner," Rosso continued, "you're not ready to reveal yourself publicly. If you do, you'll become an easy target for dark shamans and their deadly curses."
"So staying low is safer for now," Rai said quietly.
"Exactly," Rosso nodded. "There will come a time when you're strong enough to stand tall. But for now, build your strength. Stay hidden. And stay alive."
Not long after, Alfin returned with several CCTV devices taken from the Stamsun family residence. Luckily, he managed to find them—even though the police had already taken the recordings as evidence. Apparently, some of the footage was considered damaged and later discarded. Fortunately, the actual video storage units were still intact, and Rai might be able to repair them.
However, there was a catch—Alfin had brought back eight memory units, not knowing which ones were from the Stamsun house.
Thankfully, five of them were still in good condition, so they began by reviewing those first. They were mostly normal surveillance footage, nothing too suspicious.
That left three damaged memory units, which Rai would need to recover.
And strangely enough, all three of them turned out to contain footage from inside the Stamsun mansion.
In the first recovered video, the eldest child of the Diana family was seen using a khodam, searching through the Stamsun residence.
In the second video, the head of the Stamsun family released his own khodam and confronted the intruder, leading to a brief but intense supernatural fight.
According to Alfin, the eldest Diana sibling was named Jhony—a man who currently controlled most of the Diana family's business empire, as he was the main heir. However, his relationship with Diana herself wasn't great. Jhony was known to be willing to do whatever it took to achieve his goals, regardless of ethics.
The third video was perhaps the most shocking: Jhony's khodam arrived again—this time accompanied by 28 jinn. One jinn wore a royal crown, clearly the leader, while the rest looked like guards, consorts, servants, and even a treasurer.
With the help of these 28 jinn, Jhony executed the entire Stamsun family, staging the scene to look like a tragic accident and framing the head of the household as the culprit.
