Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: [Identity Setting Editing Card]

The next day.

8:20 in the morning.

Same shabby apartment.

But something was clearly different.

Anyone passing by would notice it right away—lined up in front of this rundown, low-rise apartment building were several sleek cars.

They weren't top-tier luxury brands.

But they were all the kind of high-end vehicles completely out of reach for your average office worker.

Definitely not something you'd expect to see parked outside a place like this.

So naturally, the locals couldn't help but cast curious glances.

And then they noticed the men in suits—lined up neatly at the door of a fourth-floor unit, standing politely in the hallway.

Not because they wanted to stand outside.

But simply because... there was no room left inside.

The tiny, dilapidated room—barely 20 square meters—couldn't fit another soul.

And inside, the room's current user, Xi Shenlian, sat casually flipping through a stack of documents with great interest.

The title at the top of the papers read: [Inheritance Gift Agreement]

The deceased was a foreign tycoon who had lived a long life—ninety years old at the time of death.

Most of his assets consisted of company shares and a wide range of investments.

But everything had already been liquidated before he passed.

The total value? Around 650 billion yen.

Globally speaking, definitely a top-tier billionaire.

And most importantly—it's all in cold, hard cash.

The designated beneficiary?

None other than Xi Shenlian.

"Mr. Xi Shenlian, according to the last will and testament of Mr. Tom Turn, as the kind-hearted individual who once assisted him, you've been named the sole heir to his entire estate. He's already liquidated all his assets for ease of transfer. You'll only need to go through the proper procedures, and full access to the inheritance will be yours..."

The one speaking was a stern-looking middle-aged white woman in a formal suit.

Her complexion was a shade lighter than the locals, but aside from some facial features, she didn't look much different from the Japanese.

In this world, that was the norm.

There were still racial distinctions—yellow, white, and black—but all humans originally descended from Atlanteans, who had split up around a hundred thousand years ago.

This was common knowledge.

As a result, people of different races weren't especially hostile toward each other.

In fact, due to environmental factors over the past hundred millennia, the differences between them weren't all that huge anymore.

Take black people, for instance.

Their skin tone wasn't drastically different—just a darker tan, really. A warm brown, rather than the deep black from Xi Shenlian's previous life.

So all in all, racial differences were pretty mild.

Even after Atlantis fell, there had been global unification under a single empire, and international travel never really stopped. People from different continents had been intermingling since ancient times—resulting in a level of globalization that far surpassed Xi Shenlian's past life.

With all the ups and downs of history, science and technology had ended up more advanced, too.

Take nuclear weapons: invented centuries ago. Controlled nuclear fusion? That tech had been around for over a hundred years.

But as for outer space... humanity wasn't super enthusiastic about it.

Because right now, Earth's resources were still abundant and more than enough to meet demand.

Besides...

Tens of thousands of years ago, a particularly bored high-level awakened individual had already explored the entire solar system.

That guy had brought back huge samples—like several thousand tons of dirt from other planets.

Pluto, Mars—you name it, he collected it.

From what Xi Shenlian had heard...

The real issue with interstellar travel was that rocket propulsion wasn't powerful enough, making space voyages risky and time-consuming.

So modern scientists generally agreed: interstellar colonization just wasn't viable yet. The tech wasn't there.

Instead, space efforts focused on satellites—whether for military use or civilian applications.

Signal transmission, long-range surveillance...

These were way more practical—and profitable—than space tourism.

Lower investment. Faster returns.

A few minutes later.

After the woman finished her explanation, Xi Shenlian—now facing a camera and a judge—signed the document and calmly said:

"Alright, I've got no more questions."

The woman gave a small smile.

As the executor and lawyer, her job was complete—and she'd just secured her commission.

Of course...

Even as she smiled, she couldn't help but feel a little sour inside.

A young guy like this, suddenly becoming the sole heir of a massive fortune...

Unbelievable!

Just helping some random old man nets you a multi-billion inheritance?

She wasn't just sour—her teeth were grinding with jealousy.

But still.

Her professionalism kicked in, and she maintained her courteous demeanor:

"Very well. Next, Ms. Furui Rika from March Bank will be in charge of all follow-up procedures…"

With that, she stepped aside.

Another woman, younger—around thirty-five—stepped forward with a warm smile.

"Mr. Xi Shenlian."

"The inheritance funds have already been deposited into your account with our bank."

"As of this moment, you're officially one of our ultra-premium clients..."

She produced a black box with ornate carvings on the surface.

Opening it revealed a black metal bank card, etched with a strange number.

"This is a special premium card our bank prepared for you. With this, you'll be able to enjoy exclusive services anywhere in the world... including 24/7 access to a dedicated team of personal assistants. Whatever your needs, just reach out—and we'll make it happen."

Half an hour later.

Once all the staff had left respectfully...

Xi Shenlian stood there, smiling as he admired the sleek card in his hand—having already turned down their offer to assign him personal bodyguards.

A super-rich acquaintance?

He didn't know any.

Sick foreign retirees he'd cared for?

None.

All of this...

Was simply the result of him using the [Identity Setting Editing Card] from the [Life Winner System].

Its main purpose?

To make his future extravagant spending feel natural.

After all—

If a normal guy suddenly started throwing money around, people would start asking questions.

But if it was someone who had inherited billions?

That'd make perfect sense.

A rags-to-riches story.

Living large?

Of course they would.
