Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Scheming to Kill the Skeleton

Chapter 4: Scheming to Kill the Skeleton

Fang Bie hesitated slightly as he gripped the arrow on his back. He could feel the arrow piercing his flesh, and he could also feel the pain from it, but it wasn't intense.

He quickly ate an apple that had fallen when he chopped down a tree on the road earlier.

On the right, his Hunger Value recovered to full, and on his left, the row of Red Hearts also slowly flickered and increased at this moment.

"Hiss!" He gasped and sucked in a breath of cold air, pulling out the arrow from his back. This pain, although intense, was still within his tolerance.

Fang Bie touched his back. Even though it was the place where the arrow had just pierced him, it hadn't left any overly severe marks. Moreover, as he stroked it, these marks were actually rapidly shrinking and soon disappeared completely.

A smile finally crossed Fang Bie's face. This smile was different from the previous excitement; this time, it was a genuine smile.

If before, he only felt that this World wouldn't be as dull as the original world, then now he could basically confirm that his body was no longer the same body as before.

To use a famous internet saying, it would be: "I'm done being human!"

He should theoretically have transformed into Steve's Body now. Although it couldn't be considered immortal and indestructible, this data-driven Body, just like in a Game, was enough for him to stand out from the crowd.

When he was attacked, no matter where he was hit, he wouldn't feel fatal pain or fatal wounds. This meant that no matter what kind of attack he received, as long as it wasn't a one-hit kill, he wouldn't actually die.

Moreover, he also possessed something even more terrifying in this Game World, which was the Satiety Health Regeneration characteristic.

Due to the existence of the Food Mod, he specifically calculated his Satiety increase each time he ate. He discovered that the terrifying side effect that came with the Food Mod like a shadow, which was the decrease in Satiety increase from eating the same Food, had not manifested around him.

"It seems this World is still quite friendly to me, at least it hasn't added any of these negative Mods," Fang Bie sighed. He had already surrounded himself with Blocks; otherwise, under attack, where would he have the mind to think about these things now?

However, the sound of Bow and Arrow constantly shooting into the Wood outside reminded him that he hadn't actually escaped danger. He just didn't know why the guy who kept shooting Arrows hadn't come to his side.

Fang Bie cautiously peeked his head out from the side. He quickly retracted his head, and a brown feathered Arrow shot past his head. But just from a glance, he had already seen the true face of that guy.

Just under the Tree Shade not far from him, stood a trembling white Skeleton. He held a seemingly crude Bow in his hand, and although he didn't see any Arrowheads on his body, he was constantly firing Bow and Arrow at him.

Fang Bie peeked his head out again, but this time he wasn't as lucky as before. An Arrow crookedly pierced his head, and his Health Points dropped again by nearly 1/3.

But Fang Bie didn't come away empty-handed this time either. He saw the location where the Skeleton archer was standing. It was in the Tree Shade, which perfectly sheltered the Skeleton, preventing it from being exposed to the Sunlight.

Fang Bie also didn't have any armor on his body. He wouldn't be foolish enough to confront the opponent head-on. He ate a piece of Sugarcane with one hand to restore his Satiety. After his Health Points slowly recovered upwards, he took out a Shovel and started digging Soil.

He only realized something was wrong halfway through. He touched his head and found that the Arrow that had just pierced his forehead was still there and hadn't been pulled out.

He endured the pain again and pulled out the Arrow from his head. This Arrow had pierced his head in a very strange way. The arrowhead had even pierced through his cheek and protruded out, but it still didn't make him feel too much pain.

Only now did Fang Bie truly relax. The Skeleton archer opposite him seemed to have no intelligence. After he dug four Blocks deep Underground, the sound of Bow and Arrow above disappeared.

Fang Bie recalled the location where the Skeleton archer had stood before, and then dug out a Space Underground that was just enough for him to stand in alone.

In the Game MC, all solid Blocks can basically exist independently in the air without having to follow any laws of Newton, so he didn't have to worry about the Soil above him collapsing.

He took out all the Wood he had dug out before, made them into Shovels, and then started digging from the place four Blocks deep Underground towards the location of the Skeleton.

With the Shovels, his speed of digging Soil was much faster than before. Two or three stacks of Soil appeared in his Backpack, and at this time, he also heard the sound of bones colliding coming from above the Soil.

Fang Bie dug three Blocks of Soil upwards. Listening again, he found that the sound wasn't directly above his head, so he continued digging to the side until he widened this Space, and only then did he find the true location of the Skeleton.

Some Soil appeared in his hand, and he filled in the Space under his feet, then left a Space two meters high. Then he found the location where the Skeleton was now and placed a Block of Soil in that place.

In MC, medium-sized creatures are basically two Blocks tall. If that Skeleton fell from the Hole Entrance above, it would get stuck directly in this Hole Entrance. The Block of Soil under its feet ensured that it wouldn't fall directly into this Space.

Fang Bie brandished the Shovel in his hand. The Skeleton seemed to sense the human presence nearby, and its movements became more violent and increasingly agitated.

Fang Bie held the Shovel in his hand, and his other hand was ready with a Block of Soil at any time. If things went wrong, he would directly block off this Space and make a run for it.

Fortunately, things didn't go beyond his expectations at all. This Skeleton smoothly fell from above and landed on this Block of Soil.

It was as if a person had fallen from the Ceiling and landed on a high table, with their feet on the table but their head still stuck above the Ceiling. This Skeleton was in a dilemma for a moment.

Fang Bie could only see its feet, which were actually bones no different from a human's, and he could also hear the crisp sound of Bone clashing.

He unhesitatingly pulled out the Sword from his Backpack and went up to it with a few slashes. Although the Wooden Sword's attack power wasn't very high, in this situation where the opponent had no way to fight back, he still easily finished off this Skeleton.

After the Skeleton died, the bones on its body immediately flashed with fragments and fell into the air, while a Bone and two Arrows fell on the ground.

Fang Bie looked at his hand. The two Arrows he had pulled out from his body had disappeared. It seemed that this was the rule of this World.
