After being forced to join the church as a "hero" Erin finds that actually he is just there to help the priests by translating books, moving things, organising rooms, cleaning and setting up for sermons. Although during this time he managed to pick up a few things, he can now read and speak fluent holy language only after a week of working and he found a book on light magic which he stole and hid in his room, what interested him in the book is it details a magic skill that wasn't in any of the gods skill books.
Over time he slowly reads the book in his spare time while continuing to help the priests.
Before long four boring weeks passed and the head priest calls him into his chambers.
"Welcome Erin, your skills have been very useful especially translating the many literatures for everyone to read. Now as part of your contract here is your wage." He says formally as he hands over six shiny gold coins to him.
"Moving forward we will have a noble come and teach you various things to move into high society as well as to set you up for success in whatever you please to do. In this time you can have access to our entire collection of forbidden or mystery literatures lining the walls of this room." He pointed at the various bookshelves.
Looking around Erin sees various books that are written in an unknown language that even he with his understand language skill can't read. From his understanding from reading various books about skills his skill of understanding language is at the max rank anyone has ever had.
In thought he thinks that he may need to learn how to rank up his skills during the next five years till he is ten and can be classified as an adult.
Erin speaks out "I can't read any of these books as they are in a language even I can't understand. But would it be possible for me to aquire various books in other languages to see if i can further my understanding of various languages and literature?"
The head priest responds "Of course, ill have the noble bring books on spirit language, elven language, dwarf language and monster language. Some of these books include information on various magic skills too that may proove usefull to you to learn but keep in mind the more skills you have the harder it is to learn a new skill, some people even if they can have ten skills can never learn more than eight in their life time due to the increased difficulty."
The head priest then leaves the room, leaving Erin surrounded by all the new books. Erin quickly picks up one that he can read and opens it to the first page, scanning the first page he finds that this book is a skill book for light magic except this one is to teach someone the A Rank Master Light magic skill.
He reads through the book quickly to try and understand what the skill can do. Eventually he finds that allows healing and support spells which isn't necessarily what he needs. He puts the book back and walks out, planning on waiting for this person to arrive.
A week passes quickly, allowing Erin to read various books and attempt to analyse some of the books. Still not making and headway.
The nobel man arrives, making Erin take classes on trivial matters like how to sit at a dinner table and proper speech. Inbetween classes he reads the various books and scrolls of diffrent languages, in a matter of a few days he is fluent in spirit language, elven language, dwarf language and monster language. Its at this point that he feels an even better understanding of all the languages, like magic it feels like he has mastered these languages as of he was speaking them his whole life. At this stage he decides to pull out one of the books he couldn't grasp and attempt to read it. Spending days on end, skipping classes just to read the book, after a week of hiding in his room like a light got turned on he could barely make out the meaning of the words but it took time for each word like cracking a code.
He spent the remaining week and a bit of his month translating half the book before he had to report to the head priests office again.
As he walks in the head priest nearly yells at him "Young man! Why have you been skipping your classes? Do we need to reconsider your employment here?" His arms crossed as he glared at Erin.
"Sorry Sir! Ive been busy with a particular project. One of the books with ancient writings I've finally learned some of the language and i've been spending the past three weeks translating it. I'm about half way through but its difficult and complex." Erin says in a panic.
The head priest looks shocked "but... wait you're able to translate it? No one in the world can even grasp a tiny bit of that language."
"Yeah... the book im translating seams to be a skill book of S Rank but i haven't gotten any further into it yet. Once translated i'll transfer it into a new book for all to read." Erin explains.
"A S Rank skill hidden behind a secret language no one can read must be powerful." A greedy grin covers his face. "Well, try and spend more time on your classes and when you finish translating the book bring it in for us to read." He hands him his six gold coins.
"Thanks Sir but it might take me longer as it uses methods of both spirit language and monster language and then i have to merge the two and translate it into english all of that might take me two or so months if I continue how i'm going but if i have to do classes too it may take me close to a year." Erin explains as he takes the coins, he kinda lied as he more wants to try and learn the skill before anyone else as he can translate them faster than that.
"I see... well then we will see where we are at in a months time with classes on. Ill talk to you later." The head priest says.
