Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: The Thirteenth Throne

---

Location: Dreamscape of the Unseen Flame

Kairo wasn't asleep.

But he wasn't awake either.

He floated in a space between heartbeat and breath—between who he was and who he's about to become.

The stars were gone. The sky was stitched shut. And fire bled upward, not down.

A voice hummed.

Old. Gentle. Terrifying.

> "You are not the first to carry wrath.

But you are the first to carry hope with it."

A figure emerged.

Hooded. Timeless. Its form made of ash and prophecy.

Its voice echoed not in Kairo's ears—but in his bones.

> "The Pantheon built twelve thrones.

One for each divine ideal.

War. Light. Death. Fate…

But the Thirteenth—Truth—was shattered.

Because Truth is not safe.

Truth is not loyal.

Truth... changes everything."

Kairo stood still, fire coiling around his fists.

"You saying I'm supposed to fix that?"

"No," the figure said. "I'm saying you are that."

Suddenly—

> [Mythic Trait Awakened: Throneborne]

"You are the living heir of the Thirteenth Throne.

When you speak, false gods tremble.

When you fight, destiny rewrites."

[Your existence is now a paradox.]

Cut To: Pantheon High Spire

The Divine Bell—a relic older than war—begins to ring on its own.

BOOM.

BOOM.

BOOM.

Council members freeze.

Elyra gasps. "That bell rings only when a god is born outside the Council's design…"

Varin stares at the sky, his voice breaking.

"…The Thirteenth has risen."

---

Back to Kairo

The ground beneath him wasn't ground—it was a seal.

Ancient.

Woven by the first gods to keep something buried.

But it wasn't locked anymore.

Chains snapped.

The seal broke.

And a throne rose from the flame.

Black stone. Red veins. A burning sigil: Ξ—the unknown.

It was not made for sitting.

It was made for challenging.

And Kairo stood before it, eyes lit like twin eclipses.

"I'm not here to join the gods," he whispered.

"I'm here to remind them what fear tastes like."

> [New Title Unlocked: Apostate Flame]

[All divine laws are now vulnerable to your presence.]

Epilogue Scene – Astral Domain: Edge of Creation

An unknown figure watches Kairo from afar. His face is scarred. His aura unstable.

He leans forward and smiles.

"So the next player's arrived."

A deck of divine tarot cards fans in his hand.

He draws one.

The card reads: "Judgment."

"And here I thought this game was getting boring."
