Ji-Ho was awakened from his sleep by the appearance of the system message in his vision.

His eyes blinked open and he yawned, rising to a seating position with heavy eyes.
He rubbed his eyes for a few seconds and then raised his head to the screen even though he could see it clearly.

He rolled out of the bed and threw on his hoodie.
Ji-Ho knew better than to flow with Lunara even when there was no time limit.
She gets pissed easily.
Moreover, he wanted to level up and be prepared for the assignment with Micheal.
Right now, he wasn't ready to go breaking into Kim and Kang Technologies.
"Kid, you're up already" When Ji-Ho walked past the kitchen, he heard Micheal's voice and peeped in to see him in an apron.
"I was just making breakfast"
"Smells good" JI-HO rubbed his hair and entered to say, "I'm going out for a morning run"
"Alright. So what are we doing about the Apex Gang? Killing em or remain in hiding until we get my niece back" Micheal turned away to place the pan on the flames.
Ji-Ho sighed and he could remember how much he had been bullied by these people but, "We'll draw unwanted attention to ourselves. I'll stay in hiding until we rescue your niece"
"Alright" Micheal shrugged, "If that's what you want"
"Micheal," Ji-Ho got closer, "About your niece. I need time. I'm just starting to understand the use of my powers. I'm not the guy you know from the hallway"
Micheal paused and turned in his direction, "As much as I don't want to pressure you, Kid. We don't have time. I don't know how to sit until they decide to use her one day. I'm no longer in the company to monitor the activities there and the access I have to cameras there might be discovered soon. We don't have time,"
" I've never fought a gifted until last night, breaking into Kim and Kang Technologies could be suicidal "Ji-Ho explained and could see a hint of disappointment in Micheal's eyes.
But Micheal said, "You're my last option, Kid. I know this is gonna be hard but I'm not leaving it up to you, I've been devising methods to deal with the gifted the human way. We're gonna do it together but I need you to be ready. One week is enough. We can't risk anything more than that"
Hearing this, Ji-Ho was a little relieved. The man was considerate after all.
"I'll try my best, Micheal,"
He turned around and left.
Ji-Ho stepped out of the building and took a good look at his new neighborhood.
The place was surprisingly quiet for a suburb.
"Let's see what's for today" Ji-Ho climbed his bicycle and peddled away.
Last night Micheal had helped him retrieve his bicycle from the hallway where he had left him.
The interrogation will be done by Micheal today.
Soon enough, Ji-Ho arrived in the woods and found himself at a point of elevation where the system was leading him.
The moment he stepped foot there, the entire landscape of the environment changed.
He was no longer in the woods but in a place that appeared to be covered by rocks.
"A cave?" He was stunned at the sight and slowly looked around.
Was he teleported to this place or something?
He touched the cave wall and gasped, realizing it was real.

The moment the system screen appeared, Ji-Ho gasped because he read everything in one go.
Goblins? Was the system kidding him right now?
But then, Energy Essense Compatibility?
He was even more shocked about this.
That means he would finally be able to do something about his HP.

Ji-Ho gulped and realized he didn't come with any weapon.
Does this mean he would go on physical combat with the goblins?

This was when he realized his Sight point had been deducted.
Why?
He initially thought it was Lunara but when he casually looked back, he noticed a complete darkness.
He turned fully and the darkness vanished.
That meant the cave was covered in darkness and Sight was helping him see.

Ji-Ho took a deep sigh and glanced one more time at the mission tab.
The last two missions were particularly strange but he had an idea.
A gentle growl slowly emerged from behind Ji-Ho who had already taken a fighting stance.
Calmly, he tilted his head sideways and caught a glimpse of the crooked grin of a creature in the darkness, one that revealed sharp irregular teeth and the visible eyes glowed yellow.
At once, Ji-Ho turned and sight cleared the darkness in an instant.
He could clearly behold that which stood in front of him.
A three-foot-tall humanoid monster with a flat face, pointed ears, broad nose, and sharp fangs that slowly lifted.
The green skin of the creature glowed under his Sight ability.
A smile curved at the corner of Ji-Ho's lips.
This wasn't exactly different from the goblins he had seen in games and movies.
The humanoid creature roared and leaped in his direction.
Whoosh!

Ji-Ho was now standing far from the goblin and tightened both of his fists.
[ Sight: - 1 ]
His Sight point was deducting one point per minute and that shouldn't keep on for long.
[ Sight: +10 ]
One thing he vividly remembered from the last fight was not wasting time to defend himself or escape a fight.
He would burn out his points and that would leave him in a critical position.
It's evident Lunara wouldn't take over his body for now and she wouldn't spare him of any mission.
It was his duty to level up and get stronger.
So, he must be brave... He must expel fear... And FIGHT!
"That's right" Ji-Ho's eyes turned dark as the goblin was not running towards him.
He pulled forward and launched a powerful punch that was accompanied by his speed ability.

The moment his fist made contact.
The head of the creature exploded into green liquid and the humanoid figure dropped flat to the floor.

Ji-Ho glanced at the mission tab and the other change he expected, didn't reflect

Isn't that what a speed punch is?
"Graagh!!" He was distracted by the loud growl and raised his head ahead to see five more goblins staggering in his direction.
This was tricky. He had no weapon here to fight but to rely on his ability.

Ji-Ho moved his feet super fast ensuring three motions that achieved a speed that was as a fast-moving vehicle.
Defense!
He activated his Defense skill just as he got close.
The powerful shield plus the speed and Strength dealt strange damage to the three of the goblins.
They were bashed directly into the cave wall and died on impact.

"That's it?" Ji-Ho was surprised to see the changes.
This would have done great damage to Joon the other time.
Why didn't he think of it?
Right now, he realized he could achieve much with the right thinking.
The other two goblins who were thrown to the ground had recovered and charged at him.
Ji-Ho didn't waste time running directly at them with 2x speed.
He initially planned to activate Defense but in the last second, he threw both of his fists and knocked the goblins directly in the head.
They were thrown a few meters and bashed their head to the ground rock, dying on impact.

"That's it?" Ji-Ho's eyes lit up.
It's a speed punch!
He had little time to react to this revelation as he saw two goblins rushing from the corner of his eyes.
"Sneak attack, huh?" He turned around and whooshed 3x speed in their direction activating his Defense at the same time.
Boom! He bashed their faces directly into the rough rock leaving a stain of green blood.

He had completed one mission faster than expected.
This made a smile creep on his face but once again, he was interrupted.
He raised his head to see five goblins charging from up ahead with spears in their head.
"Hmm, I guess I'll lend one of the spears," Ji-Ho said sarcastically and took a stance when he heard growls from behind as well.
He turned to see five other goblins coming in his direction with axes in their possession.
"Really?" They were attacking all at once.
Ji-Ho wanted to use defense but feared their weapons could directly hit the shield and deduct points.
He had to think of something fast because they would surround him in no time.
Nothing was coming to his head so he took steps to activate his shield but noticed a small elevation on the rock at the other end of the cave.
"Will that work?" Ji-Ho didn't think about it as he activated 2x speed in that direction.
Just as he got there, he placed his foot and threw himself directly into the air.
A force thrust him upwards and he floated in the air.
He was literally flying.
The Goblins gathered underneath him and growled loudly.
One suddenly threw his spear but he managed to duck.
"That isn't nice" He lamented and another threw at him.
[Flying: - 1]
His Flying point would keep deducting if he stayed longer so he decided to do something that might end up bad but there was no harm trying.
[ Strength: +10 ]
[ Defense: +10 ]
[ Speed: +10 ]
After the addition, Ji-Ho pushed himself directly downwards and flicked his legs twice in the air to activate 2x Speed.
He activated his Defense and collided head-on with the creatures below.
[ Defense: - 7 ]
The goblins who the shield touched were squashed to the ground leaving a dump of goblin flesh.
The others were sent flying in different because of the powerful speed.
A number bashed their heads straight into the sharp part of the cave's rock and died on impact.
Ji-Ho wasn't affected as he bounced back to his feet.
What brought this idea was that he remembered Defense saved him the previous day from crashing directly to the ground.
He saw two of the goblins that survived getting to their feet already.
"You don't learn. Do you?" He picked the spear on the ground and stretched his frame back.
Ji-Ho allowed them to get closer for closer accuracy, and then he threw the weapon with strength and speed.
Whoosh!
The spear cut through the air and plunged into the skull of the goblin.
Half of it broke from behind and stabbed the other one that was following.
They both dropped at the same time and revealed the last survivor.
Ji-Ho dashed ahead and punched ahead of the poor goblin with Speed and strength.
Instant death on the spot.

Ji-Ho lifted his head to see a new wave of green goblins approaching, some with weapons and others without.
He directly picked the spears closest to him and began to launch them with speed and strength.
His accuracy was bad and he missed a couple but any unlucky goblin who got hit, died on impact.
The lucky goblins had come close to him and he was forced to pick up the axe on the ground.
He dashed forward activating his shield but had used 1x speed intentionally.
The goblins were flung to the ground and none died but he took the opportunity to attack with the axe.
Bashing the skulls with the axe and splashing green blood on his body.
He always had a dream of executing that which existed in games and movies, and this opportunity presented itself.
Ji-Ho never realized how violent he was until today.
Is this because he had been weak the entire time?
Does power unveil your true nature?
He swiped the axe at a great speed, decapitating any goblin that dared sneak attack on him.
Soon enough there was a sea of goblin bodies all over him and his body was covered in green blood.

The moment this message appeared, his vision went blank and the next second, he was on the cliff in the woods.
Where exactly did the system transport him to?
His body was no longer covered in green blood but the changes to his stat were the same.
He had only 50 available XP.
During the fight, he had to continuously replenish his Stamina so he didn't get fatigued and his movement would be steady.
Sight wasn't an exemption.
Then the other Stat ability required XP at some point.
