Chapter 4 - Chapter 2: A World of Fire and Shadows

---

Chirag had never imagined a place like this. The Demon Realm was nothing like the quiet forests or soft hills of the human world. The skies here were always deep red, like a never-ending sunset. Strange creatures moved through the trees, and glowing rivers of fire ran across the land. Everything felt powerful… alive… and dangerous.

But in the middle of all that chaos, Siya was his calm.

She gave Chirag a small room in one of the quiet towers of the Demon Castle. It wasn't fancy—just a bed, a window, and some clothes—but it was more than Chirag ever had. And most importantly, it was safe.

At first, the demons didn't accept him. Whenever he walked through the halls, they stared. Some laughed behind his back. Others whispered, "Why is he here?" or "A human with no power… disgusting." A few even tried to scare him away, showing off their magic to make him feel small.

But Chirag didn't run. He just watched… and learned.

He watched the way they moved when they practiced magic. He listened when they talked about energy, power, and ancient spells. He couldn't cast magic, but his mind was sharp, and he remembered everything.

And Siya… she never let him feel alone. She trained him, laughed with him, ate with him. Day by day, they grew closer.

One evening, they sat near the edge of a cliff, looking out at the burning skies.

"Do you miss your village?" Siya asked quietly.

Chirag shook his head. "There was nothing there for me. No one believed in me."

"I believe in you," she said softly.

Chirag looked at her. Her eyes were glowing gently, like warm embers. "Why?" he asked.

Siya smiled. "Because you're strong in a way others aren't. You keep going even when the world gives up on you. That's rare. That's power too."

He didn't say anything. But those words stayed with him.

As months passed, Chirag began to change. His body grew stronger from demon training. His hands no longer trembled when he held a sword. His eyes became sharper, his steps more confident.

Still, he had no magic. No matter how much he trained, he couldn't awaken any power. And it frustrated him.

One night, Siya found him alone, punching a tree again and again until his knuckles bled.

"Stop," she said, grabbing his arm.

"I want to be more," he whispered, looking down. "I want to protect you too… not always be the one protected."

Siya looked at him for a long time. Then she said something that changed everything.

"What if… I give you my power?"

Chirag froze. "What?"

"I have something inside me," Siya said. "A power that doesn't belong to this world. It's been in my blood since I was born. That's why the rulers fear me. That's why they want me dead. But I don't care about any of that. I care about you."

She held out her hand. "If I give this to you, you'll become stronger than anyone. Maybe even stronger than the rulers themselves."

Chirag stepped back. "But… won't it hurt you?"

Siya nodded slowly. "It might. But I'd rather see you live free, with strength, than live forever while you suffer."

Chirag's heart ached. He didn't want to lose her. He didn't want her to sacrifice anything.

"No. We'll find another way. I'll train harder."

But Siya looked into his eyes. "You've already trained more than anyone. This world was never fair to you. It's time you stopped playing by its rules."

Before Chirag could argue, a loud crack filled the sky.

The clouds above split open, and a golden light shot down into the demon lands. A voice echoed like thunder, shaking the mountains.

"Siya of the Demon Blood… Your time has come. Surrender your power."

The rulers had arrived.

Chirag and Siya ran to the edge of the castle, looking up at the sky. There, floating in the light, were two beings covered in shining armor. Their eyes glowed with a cold, endless power. Even the strongest demons below knelt in fear.

One of the rulers raised his hand. "Give it to us. That power is not meant for demons."

But Siya stepped forward, standing tall. "I won't give you anything."

"You have no choice."

Just then, one of the rulers shot a beam of golden energy toward her. Chirag jumped in front of her without thinking—but he wasn't fast enough.

The blast hit Siya.

She fell to her knees, blood dripping from her mouth.

"SIYA!" Chirag shouted, catching her in his arms.

Her body was shaking, her eyes half-closed.

"Listen to me," she whispered. "This is the only way."

She took his hand and placed it on her chest. A strange warmth flowed into him—soft at first, then burning, then overwhelming.

He screamed. Light exploded around them.

Siya smiled weakly and whispered, "My power… is yours now."

And then… she went still.

But Chirag didn't cry. He stood up, eyes glowing like never before. His body burned with power. The rulers stepped back, sensing the change.

And then… Chirag moved.

In a blink, he was in front of one of them. In the next blink, the ruler lay on the ground—defeated, bleeding, afraid.

The second ruler vanished, escaping through the sky.

Chirag turned, picked up Siya's body, and began to walk.

"I'll bring you back," he whispered. "No matter what it takes."
